So Germany and Jens have made it to the final of Euro2008 by scoring a late goal against the best late goalscorers in the tournament. Now there will be an anxious few days for the crazy keeper while he waits to discover if his two blunders last night have cost him his place for that game.
It was fascinating watching both custodians make a complete and utter hash of it last night. Many of you will remember I’m sure that for a long time before we snapped up Jens in 2003 we were allegedly on the brink of getting Rustu. Now is certainly not the time to be looking at either of them.
All eyes switch to Cesc Fabregas and the mouthwatering clash between Spain and Russia tonight. Will Cesc start? He certainly looked to have improved the side when he came on for Xavi against the Italians. Will the flavour of the month, Arshavin, put the Spaniards to the sword? Who knows?
This one is wide open and I will not be risking even the famous ‘holic pound. Let’s just hope for a great game, and Cesc remaining injury free.
Oh, and before I go, a quick hello to regular reader ‘Not Wayne’ who is, well, not called Wayne I guess. He dropped me a line last night to say he has been refreshing my home page for days now. I will try to be back tomorrow Not Wayne with a Cesc and Spain update, but I’m trying not to peddle the same rumours and speculation every day. It gets tiresome for you and me.
