That was incredibly good fun. I hope we continue to take this competition seriously and blood the youngsters who have a chance of making it, rather than a wholesale youth team, half of which won’t. It would do the genuine prospects far more good.
“The speed of Arsenal’s movement and the quality of the passing, much of it first time, was so devastating that Spurs defenders were turned to stone. Angela Lansbury could have scored.”
In fairness Spuds were could not match our fitness and they ran out of steam immediaely after 90 minutes t. They couldn’t put a fight after normal time. Let’s wait to see what their friends in the press and media have to put for thier excuse.
Got a text from a work pal of mine who is a spud season ticket holder. Some of them have shelled out £65 for that tonight. That makes it all even better.
Good call from Wenger picking that team. Stronger than usual, but you could say we’re stronger than previous seasons our depth is better. Koscielny, Wilshire, Nasri were excellent. Denilson more than decent, Lansbury did well on full debut and good come back from Djourou I thought.
Superb team performance, especially by Kos and Wilshire and considering we were playing away. Kos is so different to any defender I’ve seen in the Premiership, he has the agility and balance of a ballerina. The Fabianski goal was a shocker, the ball was travelling in treacle yet it still went in. Ricey above makes a very valid point, lets only play the youths that have a good chance of obtaining 1st team status.
Much prefer the original of “Laughing Policeman”, “The Laughing Song” by George W. Johnson from the turn of the previous century, but that’s another matter.
Big ups especially for Jack, Kos, Gibbs, Nas (esp. for the two calm penos), and young Henri.
A hell of a performance by the team this evening.i think our fitness made the whole difference.
Gibbs was great,Lennon had to move to the left wing when he simply could just not get past Gibbs,a la Cristiano Ronaldo, last season in the champions league home leg.
Clichy better improve or else….
Fantastic team performance from everyone despite a few first shaky minutes…
Go Gunners….
great result tonight! 4-1 haha! hope we dont have gibbs injured cos tbh i think after that performance he should be no 1 left back and fabianski? surely thats the end of him. hes just not good enough. i hope chezney gets a chance for the next roundas he needs to play or he will leave and i think we rally need to keep this guy cos he will be the best in my opinion and we will reagret loosing such a talented player….any news on gibbs??????
kos was exceptional ,,has the heart of a lion depite his size,,big shout to lansbury who is defintely worth a punt if needed,,im hearin bad news on gibbs,,apparently could be a broken metatarsal again
Redknapp reckons Nasri dived to win the penalty. How many times did Pavyluchenko dive? Was it 2 or 3? What about the first half penalty we should have had or the bad decisions which cost us the second Gibbs goal for offside and the unfathomable way the same linesman missed “yer man” Keane standing offside for their goal? And I thought Redknapp said this evening was going to be all about trophies and not kids. And how did Bassong not get booked for going over the top and that clown Sandro stay on the pitch? The mind boggles but it was a sweet victory.

New DVD release by THFC: Spurs v Arsenal – League Cup – 21st September 2010 Title: “The First 49 minutes…”
Mine’s a bottle of San Pauli Girl lager. Rabbit rabbit, rabbit, yap, yap, yap …rabbit.
Tonight was truly fantastic. The Fabianski error was worth it to see our performance in extra time. All those empty seats was priceless.
Is this our team for Saturday?
Almunia
Sagna Squillaci Vermaelen Clichy
Song Denilson
Rosicky
Vela Chamakh Arshavin
Surely young Jack can’t be asked to back up again and we do have Champs League on Tuesday.
Although Denilson played the full 120 tonight he didn’t play for that long on Saturday.
Gibbs must now be very close to being our first choice left back. Any word on his injury?
When is Diaby expected to be available?

Hopefully Denilison gets his Kudos tonight. He was the best performer on the pitch throughout the entire game.
