Aaron Key To Overcoming Stoke
Sep 21st, 2013 by 'holic
A new dawn, or the resumption of hostilities? The absence of Tony Pulis from matchday five is welcome. A favourite pantomime villain for many a Gooner has made way for Mark Hughes, himself no leader of any popularity poll around here. The middle-aged man in the silly cap has gone. Good.
Of course there will still be an undercurrent of bad blood tomorrow, an unhealthy edge that makes victory more desirable than should be the case against just another midlands club. This is personal, and will remain so until Shawcross is not a part of it. How ironic then that the man most likely to torment the latest visitors to the Grove is one Aaron Ramsey.
Villa on the opening day of the season apart, this Arsenal midfield has been absolutely outstanding, and nobody has contributed consistently more than Rambo. Over three years have passed since the career-threatening injury he sustained at the Britannia. He would probably accept it has taken him that long to banish the memories of that day an return to the form he was showing prior to that. This season he has made a step change in performance and contribution. It is so good to see.
Around him we are likely to see pretty much the same side that partnered him in securing three valuable Champions League points in Marseille. Arsene confirmed in his presser that only Mikel Arteta was likely to be added to that squad for this match. It will be great to see the Spaniard out there again, but with Matty Flamini looking steady there is no need to rush his return. An appearance from the bench will help him to regain match fitness.
The ‘holic pound yielded a welcome return in midweek, which only adds to the pressure as it is reinvested for the visit of the Orcs. I’m a little more bullish than usual because of that midfield. We may have struggled to nick the corresponding fixture last season with a late Lukas Podolski free-kick, but a couple of the High Street bookies go a mouthwatering 12/1 against a 3-1 home win. That looks a value bet to me.
It will be an exciting Sunday as five teams, ourselves and Stoke included, could mathematically sit atop the table at the end of it. In all likelihood it will be a North London club claiming that berth. I know it’s only five games in, and eight long months remain, but that would still give this squad an added burst of confidence as we get into the rhythm of two matches a week contesting on all fronts.
How much more would we all get from it if Aaron Ramsey were to add to his impressive tally of six goals in seven appearances this season.
Oh please…

Before I forget, last call for donations to the Gooner Terry fund tomorrow please. I want to order the stone and make our donation this week for certain.
Thanks.
First?
Technically, for sure.
At first read, I thought it said “Aaron Key To Overcoming A Stroke….which is what I’ll have if we don’t get three points tomorrow. COYR!!!
I miss Pulis
5th?
Cheers, ‘holic!
sweet mother of god
‘holic
your first post
i’ve been away
am i right in what i read about gooner T ?
Ah, a preview!
See some of you tomorroooooooooooooooow
Nice, succint preview.
Resumption of hostilities for me, certainly.
Surely Stoke did not cover themselves in glory during the Shawcross saga with Pulis’ “not that type of player” comments. But the greatest culprits remain the Stoke fans who booed Aaron at the Britania. That is incomprehensible and, for me unforgiveable.
just back drank
fuck
top man gooner T
top man
Sadly the execrable Penis won’t be there tomorrow to prance along the touch line exhorting his boys to get a throw in or thump a free kick sixty yards into the area. Still as you say Holic its no inconvenience to boo Mark Hughes.
Stoke are an interesting case. People have cut them way too much slack in the past for being a penniless set of decent lads trying to survive against all the big boys. In reality the Coates family have put some serious money into the club and their transfer spend has been much higher than ours for some time. You can only take, ‘ only way to survive is to play kick and rush argument’ so long and its been over- extended with Stoke. Even so it caught up with Penis last year when the Orc fans turned on him.
Cue BBC suggesting that they now have morphed into a passing side just because they lump it half as far. Hopefully we’ll stuff them tomorrow, get no injuries and welcome Mesut to his new home. Like Nacho last season they are quite a side to play your first home game against. 2-0 to us I reckon. Possibly 3-0 with Mesut on the scoresheet.
Arsené is the new Gandalf, Rambo the new Frodo. Bring on the Orcs! We’ve got the Legion & Weaponry to make ‘Huge Marks’ on their ‘dicks’, Shawcross #1 on the list.
“The middle-aged man in the silly cap has gone. Good.”
Now they have the middle-aged silly man without the cap.
Actually, I’m Silly too but that’s another story.
Heading to the game tomorrow from Derry in N Ireland. Was there 3 years ago for the game after Aaron was assaulted by that complete bollix Shaworc. The crowd were wonderful in their praise of him. Really hope you are right ‘Holic and he produces yet another midfield master class to go with his other efforts this season. Very unhappy with the way thereafter the Arsenal faithful treated him at the home of football last season or so but Wenger has, to be fair, proven right in persevering with him.
Stoke. I’ll always fuckin hate them!
Come on arsenal
I am a bit drunk too 🙂
I think Rambo will get one against Stoke, he has sweet scent of goals caught in his nostrils. Hopefully we don’t concede a penalty this week, can’t believe how many we have given so far
frank Frank, absolutely hit the nail on the head there.
Shawcross is naturally and for ever more a despicable being of hideous proportions, a serial injurer and hacker, but the booing of Ramsey by the Stoke fans shows utter stupidity, a total lack of class and a breathtakingly defective character in each and every one of them.
Or maybe they’re just a bunch of immature cunts.
It doesn’t matter either way: I will never, to the end of my days, EVER give up my hatred of everything that club stands for. Their players are scum, their fans are scum, their former manager is scum and the current incumbent isn’t immune from that criticism either.
Just the most odious club since the inauguration of the FA (also cunts).
Will be out partying tonight in NYC so chances of sneaking away from Rox tomorrow morning for an 8:30am kick off are slim to non-existent.
Have a great day out you Tollington warriors – I expect to hear nothing but good things when I tune in tomorrow morning. 8)
Porco, knows.
Have a good one, Dr Z.
Best of luck to everyone going to the game.
A good old 1-0 to the Arsenal will do me nicely but I suspect there will be more goals in it for the good guys.
In addition to Ramsey, I think one of the defenders will also score. The supporters will do their bit, everyone will be excited to see Ozil.
Hope the trip is going well z. Buy her lots of shoes 😉
Can’t seem to get images of Bendtner celebrating a goal off my head, what are the odds against(is that right?) Him scoring the winner tomorrow?
A hat trick for Theo, now he’s found the range at last. A regulation goal for Ollie of course, and a satisfying get-square one for Rambo (after turning ShORCross inside out in the build-up).
5-0? Why not!
Öskar
Whatever the odds, Cent, TGSTEL scoring even an odd goal for us ever again would be one of the odder landmarks in my lengthy (53 years so far) history as a gooner.
Öskar
Uh, oh Alzheimer’s … make that 63 years as a gooner!
Öskar
Oh Oskar, stop making me feel so young!
BTW, I expect Bendtner to be TGSTCOCAFCHES- The Greatest Striker The Capital One Cup And Fa Cup Has Ever Seen- just for this year.
Read about Dennis’ new book http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/sep/21/dennis-bergkamp-arsenal-love-game I love that man, my love for him is surpassed only by Wolfie’s love for Bobby Pires, just.
Zico, weather looks pretty decent in the Big Apple for Sunday, but you and Rox might need an umbrella for tonite 🙁 Make sure you check out the Naked Cowboy, while you’re there and get a pic of him with you and post it on twitter! 😉 Now Holic, nothing wrong with that type of hat. It was the head it was perched on, that was the problem! The buzz is the Potters are playing attractive footie this season which bodes well for us, too. See us winning but Mike Dean will be a proper pain in the arse.
12.30am kick off in NZ, not too bad at all! Can’t wait, Theo opener,
HFB second goal, Ozil third and maybe a cheeky Rambo goal to finish it off
Ugh, coming down with the flu tonight and I could do with little extra sleep in the morning. Can’t happen though, since as an American gooner the game kicks of about 6:45 local time. We’d better frcocking win tomorrow.
On an unrelated note, all this talk of a lopsided scoreline makes me nervous. A 1-0 or 2-1 would be just fine. And no injuries, please.
goonsterham, drink plenty of water and keep warm. Want you feeling better, ok? So looking forward to everyone showing up HERE and cheering our lads on. @33, do you realize how that time zone, just blows my mind. What a good sport you are! Nite everyone. And Cent, TY, you know why 😉
You’re welcome, Nursie.
Spanks, abb. Will do.
Zico, just stay out all night and head straight to Nevada Smith’s on Third between 12th and 13th for 8.30am.
Flamini v. Arteta hair mussing tussle?
“I’m feeling a little more bullish than normal because of the midfield” Yes! Great to see you returning, albeit slowly, to top form, Holic. I’ll be watching in a pub called The Aldgate somewhere in Tokyo. Her Nellieness doing the necessary at the game itself. Enjoy!
Zico, game is on CNBC, a standard cable TV station…
BtM. For your orientation, or disorientation if you prefer, Google translate says the sign outside the Aldgate, if written in Japanese should read something like this:
古い門
But that’s only assuming Ald is the same as Old. If not you are on your own. Enjoy!
Goonsterham Lincoln from the last drinks:
“I’ll be a gooner for the rest of my life though. So I’ve got time.”
That 🙂
Whilst I still think that January may surprise, I am not relying on it to reinforce my belief that there is finally some sort of plan in play and that it will inevitably see 2014-15 become a year for all Gooners to enjoy!
Abbs from the last drinks:
Thank Dennis I find myself on that side of the Arsene fence once more! I was truly worried for a while back there!
Doctor Faustus from the last drinks:
EXACTLY what I was thinking…There is a defender that might just fit into that same mould too that would be a lovely christmas pressie!
😉
…and now to read the new post and get back-drinking AGAIN!
Great write up Holic. Am I alone in being nervous about tomorrow? Stoke are off to a decent start. I’m thinking an ugly 1-0 and Flamini as MOTM.
Spot on ‘holic although I actually think that AR16 would have a decent enough reason to have an “off day” tomorrow, should that be the case. A more than welcome return to form (actually, is it a return to form when he is clearly twice the player he was even before his injury?) to be sure, but those memories must still be fairly tough to ignore when that wanker is on the same turf as him.
All that said, I am going for 2-0 tomorrow with a goal either side of half time for Giroud. Assists for Ozil and Walcott if you really must know!
COME ON YOU GOOOOOOONNNNNERRRRRSSSS!!!
@41 …. Thanks a million mate. Checked the regular NBC sports channel and didn’t think to check CNBC for the telecast. I’ll be up at 0500 in California now!!!!
Hehe abb, as one who knows from personal experience, old fellas can only carry off a baseball cap if they are on a golf course 😉
see you lot here in about six hours…
Great preview ‘H.
Just recovered from the massive boilk inflicted by Lars and Snowy. Very bad influences those two! 😉
See you all later those that are toddling to the Tollie. 2-0 to the good guys.
And the man of poetry Cba is back, hurrah, hurrah.Good to have you back Sir.
Right I’m off to iron my matchday speedoes. Have a good one all. Come on the Arsenal!
Morning all. A morning of under 10s football will be followed by a mad dash to the station with the little man. He is excited about both. Unfortunately a pre match meet at the Tollie will therefore be out of the question. I may try and say a quick hello after the match via the railings.
Personally I am looking for a gunners romp. I hate Stoke and all they stand for. I hate Hughes because he is who he is. I hope it is a five nil to the Gunners and that Pulis as a guest on motd2 is left squirming in his seat. To conclude proceedings I hope the Flamster catches one on the volley and it hits Shawcross straight in the Charlie’s to leave him poll axed. If the gods are really smiling then it will happen right at the final whistle so that he is left laying on the ground contemplating nothing more than a count up.
Onwards and upwards. See you at half time Holic.
Couldn’t help this slight deviation from the game at hand:
“I believe that the real great players are guided by how football should be played and not by how football should serve them.” Arsene on players like DB10. ( Here’s the link in case: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/sep/21/dennis-bergkamp-arsenal-love-game)
That said, it would be wonderful if Ramsay scores a hat-trick and we win the game. COYR!
Morning all,
After a really heavy week I discovered yesterday that we are to be treated to “planned engineering works” on the railway today. That means a 40 minute drive now to get to the end of the London Underground system at good old Cockfosters – all jokes already done – and then await the Sunday service.
So, see you when I see you at The Tollie – leave 1 pint in the taps, fellas !
Good to see cba back !
That poetic style is moosic to our ears.
Right, it’s a little moosli for me and time to go in the mootor car – a bit of moosic on the radio – cba’s favourite Buddy Holly tune, ” Catt’le be the day” 😉
I’ll go with the 3-1 to the ever more handsome Gunners, with Mesut to Orc-estrate the victory. 😉
About an hour to go before boarding the bus towards the Tollie. Looking forward to the day, and while I would like to warn everyone to not underestimate Stoke this is a game that I would be really disappointed to see us getting anything less than three points. If we do the job properly we shall win this by two or three goals.
Up the Arse!
Oh, and welcome back, cba!
3-0 to the good guys. COYR.
Just heading to the ground now.
Should be a home win on paper, but much will depend on the performance of Stoke’s whistle-wielding 12th man.
Hopefully the crowd will be fired up – got to get some pressure on this ref to keep him honest.
3-1 to the Arsenal.
COYG
Ok, first pint is on the table!
Tough n tense 24hrs hostage situation here in Nairobi-kenya at a joint i so love to watch the gunners. We pray for life, we pray for victory, COYG!
Hello fellow holics!
I’m looking forward to a good game and hopefully an Arsenal win tonight, maybe 2-1 or 3-1 I’m thinking.
On a side-note, I’m hoping this bad blood between the two sets of fans can be released soon. Pulis is gone and I think we should move on now from this.
I’m tired of the whole thing now so I’m just going to try to enjoy Aaron’s performances instead of hating on and getting riled up by the today’s opposition.
Enjoy the match!
UTA
My thoughts are with you, Kenyan.
Thanks Cent’Berry. Tough times, hope the day doesnt get any worse
That headline would be much funnier if his name was Allen.
Firstly thoughts to all the people involved in the shocking on going incident in Nairobi.
Our outdoor bowling season coming to an end this week – it’s been perfect weather since early June. Today it’s Ladies v Gentlemen, will be much fun, and most importantly the bar is well stocked. Shall return home much later to catch up on the the expected defeat of the Orcs…but being a long in the tooth gooner no chickens bring counted here! The weekends should be free shortly and will get the portable commode up and running for a visit to TNHOF and the Tollie. Meanwhile have a great day all you gooners.
Oh, and great to see our CBA back in the bar.
NBN sadly Nevada Smiths is no longer the place to go in NYC.
Zico, go to the Blind Pig
And Kenyan, have a drink on me–tragic happenings
Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Walcott, Giroud
Subs: Viviano, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Arteta, Monreal, Bendtner, Gnabry
They must start getting tired by now.
Interesting subs on that bench, Toby. Now to my trusty TV. Come on you Reds!
Just getting off the train. There is a feeling of excited anticipation in the air.
Bring it on.
Heartfelt condolences, Kenyanconnection and all the people there, for the appalling attack. Was distressed to hear an eyewitness say that he saw an armed attacker, apparently Arabic, change his clothes and walk out with civilians escaping the mall.
Bendtner’s like a new signing.
Theo ill, Gnabry in. Huh
I hope Serge will carry his great form from U-21 games to senior squad, will cheer him on here to no end!
Afternoon all.
So the Orcs are at THOF today, hope all you Tollie Warriors have had your shots, and I’m not just talking about whisky chasers.
Without Pulis they may not be so kicky, bargy hoofy or long throwy, but make no mistake, they are still dispicable and are followed by the worst assortment of clay moulding, mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, ferret fingering, inbred wanksticks imaginable. Their treatment of Ramsey was beyond the pale and totally unforgivable.
Let’s give ’em a lesson in how football is supposed to be played and send them packing back up to Middle Earth with their tales (literaly) between their legs.
COYRRR’s
Theo out sick or hurt
Theo ill apparently
boilk
Tough game, but winnable.
A chance for Gnabry to replace Walcott. Perfect chance for the young German.
Come on you Gunners!!!
Hope that all Kenyans get sorted asap and the troubles there soon disappear
All those going to the match enjoy yourselves with a good win
COYR
Hi everyone. Here we go! Good luck to Serge. Kenyan, so very sorry 🙁

Hey, some Top gooners here, I see 🙂
Simply cannot buy that!!!!
COME ON YOU AAROOOONSSSSS!!!
Loved the way Aaron shushed the traveling Orcs. 😆
Robson. Can’t stand the man.
AAROOON!
There is a Dennis after all. Unbelievable that guy
Some lovely touches…
Can someone confirm that the orcs no longer tackle the man.but go for the ball
The triangulal movement is a joy to watch.
Jochem Loew is there to watch Ze Arsenal
fucking orcs, kicking Jack up
agreed, toby. clearly their 3d string color man. total stokian knob gobbler.
Nice reading by Woj, there.
Jack’s gotta be careful too.
That was quite a chance for Stoke. I love it when Mert just sticks out a leg.
gnarby perfect for this game.
Cuntz.
fuck. well played, but fuck.
Ohhhh 🙁
COME ON ARSENAL
The ‘Holic pound is on!
Yuk…
Jackie boy looking very ambitious!
Get in that fucking net !
BFG!!!!
Get the fuck in!
Oh lovely header from Mert!!!
yes!!! mert snack!!!
PER GET THE FUCK IN!
Beautiful Fucking Goal
Per
Ozil needs to take all of our corners! 🙂
Well left Kos and Per scored when he wants
Come Arsenal!
two goals from dead ball situations against Stoke, gotta love that 🙂
Indeed Eandy.
And Serge sure looks comfortable out there, good for him!
lg 🙂
It bulged for sure!
almost in HFB! beautiful touches.
ooooh almost
Unlucky Serge
yep, right on time abb! 🙂
Gnabry’s runs with the ball are all taking him towards the middle. Is he being told to do that? Seems like he should keep the width a little more
I love our keeper!
Dirty Orcs!
Stoke are a dirty bunch of shirt lifters.
Could watch Ozil all day, the lad can dance 😉
Hey there Scruz 😉
Huth is most uncouth!
decent first half. stoke play just a touch of football, but otherwise as ugly as expected.
i do wish robson would fuck right off, though.
an early goal for us in the second half and we can put it to bed.
Had to stay out of the bar for a while there as my Torrent Stream was lagging by about 4 minutes!
Pretty good first half there. Couple of lapses, one that led to their goal, but overall looking sharp in most areas and, most importantly, not carrying any players.
Now, if I could just figure out how to get Torrent Stream to stop buffering so much I would be in heaven!
Okay lads, started well, played some excelent stuff and took a deserved lead. Unexplicably let them back in, had a dodgy few minutes but woke up again to restore our lead.
I hope we’ve learned from the mistakes in the first half and put this game beyond them asap. OG’s gotta keep pluggin’ away, he’ll get his chance, Jack and Aaron are lively, Özil see’s the game on a different level, he looks like he can assist at anytime. Maybe a change of studs for a few of the guys at the back, too many slips going on there, but all in all if we continue like this it should be ours.
ps Nzombie and Jabba the Huth are cheating mongtards.
Will do Mondo @68
Bstrum@72 unbelievable…such bad guys dont deserve such an easy escape.
Rest of the bar…ramsey truly holds the key!
131 It put smile on my face arthur.
Hello from NZ!! Watching all the delicious action with a fellow gooner!!
So far, so good.
Aaron doing well, little understatement there 😉
Let’s try to get another one soon after half time.
Good observations, fellas. Can’t get over how well Serge has slotted in, it’s like he has been playing with the big boys all season. H2H, so agree about Ozil!
COME ON YOU REDZZZZZZZZZZ
shameee OG
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh OG! Huth should see red on that charge against Serge! This isn’t the NFL!
Good strike, Olivier
About time Huth got booked.
Huth should get yellow at least, NHL kind of bodycheck
And agreed abb. That was pretty much a punch, even if it was by the shoulder and not the hand. But if you let play continue you can’t give a red, and, well, of course the ref wouldn’t give a red for something like that anyhow.
Hey Eandy NHL 😉 Yes Toby, I see your point 🙁
Stoke have tried to come forward and we hit them hard on the break twice. I bet they’ll just sit back now.
Hey abb:)
Sloppy.
we struggle to keep the ball now somehow
Hi Eandy! Want to see Ozil score! Good save by Woj!
ROBSON JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP.
ouch, Jack down
Right under Dean’s nose and nothing??
Heart in my throat, stuff there but Woj looks solid.
Think the team could do with a rest actually. They’ve been playing pretty much every single minute of the last couple of games. Get Arteta in, get the three points, take a week of and lets play the young(er) ‘uns in the cup.
I am getting really uncomfy with all this Stoke possession
Get innnn!!! They don’t like it up ’em!
SAAAAGGGNAAAA
Sagna you beauty!!!
What joy by Bac! Ozil you are a gem!
Bag baby
BAC!
Who would have Bacd him 3-1
another set piece goal!!! three assists for our mesut, and brilliant by sagna!! wow. ryo and nacho in. well in.
Nice debut Gnarby. Let’s see what Rio can do.
Bac baby I hate spellcheck
*Ryo
Job fucking done!
Well done Bac…What a time to score!
Not yet Tw mate, not yet.
Yeehaaaa! 3-1 to the football team!
Have that you hideous knuckle-dragging cunts!
Don’t forget, it’s almost impossible to kill off the undead. 😉
agreed h2h, not quite.
AW talks to Bould (wow!).
Arteta to return.
Ovation for Özil
Özil two more assists today and forcing keeper to save which led to Aarons goal, talk about some home debut:)
Oficialy that’s three assists, Eandy.
Ah I see H2H, even better then:P
now, quite, even failing the holic pound…
when our injured are back and we gel, we will be quite the team.
Almost the cherry on the top on this sundae 😉
ft. fuck yes!
Great win.
‘holic CHING CHING.
That’s quite a nice cash boost for the ‘Holic and Toby pound.
top of the freaking league!
and piss off Hughes and stoke. learn to defend a set piece. hahaha!
job well done:)
assist boom or tabs?
boom!
Well in Scruz
Good professional performance and top of the league.
Just the tonic I need to get over this cold 😀
Night all. Enjoy the 3 points!
UTA
Important win. Can’t remember the last time I was so calm and relaxed watching Arsenal.
Mertesacker the MOTM for me.
Would not mind if this is the look of the table in middle May.
Champions elect win in third gear 🙂
Excellent result! I like gnabry, and ryo, his touch almost resulted in another goal. Cool, collected effort. Good to see Arteta back. Keep’em coming!
Guys, 7 straight, missing the players we’re missing right now, is NO MEAN FEAT.
Great to be a Gunner this morning.
cheers, h2h.
agreed lurky.
feel better, cor.
going back to sleep, enjoy the day, holics!
Very impressed with young Gnabry, tidy, confident, assured. A fine first start in the premier league.
Can’t ask for much more than that today.
My prediction was almost perfect as usual! HAHAHA!
Kos looked good again, Gibbs lively as always, LJW will find some form if and when the refs decide to stop opponents from kicking the shite out of him for 180 minutes a week, Ozil is just a class act, Giroud didn’t stop working for the entire match, Gnabry looks as good as Theo in almost every aspect and, well, AR16 is the best centraol midfielder in the league right now. Good Dennis, even Woj is starting to look like an Arsenal keeper.
Fuck the future, today is looking good!!!
Thanks scrözilgööner!
Btw, as someone mentioned Ryo.
I really like Ryo but I felt like this was NOT the game for him to feature.
Although, when he came on, despite not seeming aware of who he was supposed to be marking (I saw BFG shouting at him lol) and being knocked off the ball a few times, he did alright and almost made a goal for Giroud. Not too shabby.
I hope he and Gnabry continue to improve this year.
Cor, get better son. Nite Scruz 😉 Going on a bagel run before the Manchester festivities commence 😉
Good job by the boys, a very professional display to see off the Orcs. We couldn’t seem to keep the ball for a while but we won and we’re top of the league so who cares, right? Right! Enjoy the rest of your weekends every where you are, ‘holics.
Great game!
Funny enough all goals scored today was from set pieces! How unusual that is!
Come on Arsenal!
Great win – 3 goals again, 3 assists for Özil, 3 pts for the Arsenal and 12 quid (less tax) for ‘Holic.
3 goals from set pieces too. Is that just coincidence or is the quality of the ball in? Or bad goalkeeping? He didn’t look too hot today, Begovic – now we know why Arsene didn’t buy him, as so many were clamouring for pre-season. No better than what we’ve got already.
So now a lot of the squad will get a week off before Swansea. It will be interesting to see the defence line-up for the CC. Fabianski, Jenks, Vermaelen and Monreal + 1 other, I guess.
Gnabry did well today I thought – he held his own in the physical tussles and used the ball well. A lot of promise.
Should be drinks on the house tonight with the bookies money ;-0
Stoke getting done by two set pieces? Oh the irony…
Thanks abb!
@214: ATG, Stoke seem to be all about ineffective possession play, while we are all about set-pieces. “Prince and the Pauper” Prem style? 😉
Maybe we should start wearing red and white stripes too lol
Per had an excellent game, the goal included, and will probably get the MOTM. But I thought Giroud, except for the blast which should have been curled into top corner, played superbly too, both in attack and defense.
Flamini, Kos, and Gibbo (in the second half) had good games. Aaron and Jack evidently were tired, too many uncharacteristic missed passes and wrong decisions.
I really liked Gnabry’s performance. The defensive discipline and desire for such a young player was eye-catching. Going forward drifted inside a bit too often but the confidence and the abilities are obvious. Received a great cut back from Ozil in the box but couldn’t control the attempt.
Liked Ryo’s too, deceptively quick and good close control.
Ozil, as subdued as he was, on another day could have had two more assists (Giroud and Gnabry’s chances).
Arsenal 3-1 against Stoke, and all three goals from set-pieces. 🙂
So how’s that 12:1 feeling ‘Holic?
Ok, bear with me here.
But, I’m thinking if he continues to make three in every game, we might have to rename it “Özist”
My team for away at Baggies in League Cup:
Fabianski or Viviano
Carl – Hayden – TV5 – Nacho
Frimpong – Arteta – Eisfield
Gnabry – Bendy – Ryo
Subs: Goalie, Flamini, Bellerin, Gibbs, Olsson, Akpom, Iwobi
If Bendy could have been on subs bench today, he should be able to play on Wed. If he is not ready, Akpom to start and Bendy on the bench.
The rest of the team can all do with a rest.
Now let’s see if the filthy Manc clubs can take a few chunks out of each other. 2-2 and 6 straight reds would do me quite nicely.
My prediction is 2-2 as well.
Pfft at Sky trying to make this fixture more exciting than it really is….
And I just spotted Nasri looking scared in the tunnel. 90 minutes of hiding on the pitch to come??
Good strong performance. Boys a bit tired from midweek, hence the slack passing in the second half.
Delicious three points
Beautiful trickery by Samir to setup that goal.
Just got Internet access again for the first time in a couple of days. (Stopped near Hadrian’s Wall) en route to Oxon from the far NW of Scotland.
In a feat of remarkable self-discipline, I have knurd completely befpre looking at the result or write-ups from more orthodox sources. YESSSSSS!
COYG
As a representative of an older generation – late fifties myself, 45 years since my first match – may I put in a word for Stoke City? They used to be a decent side, after all they took George Eastham at the very ond of his career. I think it was only under Penis’s influence that they became the bunch of cnuts that they have been recently. Their fans’ behaviour towards AR16 has been beneath contempt, and getting in Mr Hughes is hardly likely to bring about the kind of change of style and outlook that they need, but once they ship out Ryan the Orc and do a couple of years of penance in the Championship, I’ll be pleased to see them back in the Premier League.
In the meantime, can someone remind me who’s top of the table?
COYG
Where by the wall, Pangloss? Walked it a few years back.
Willowford Farm, Toby
Just East of Birdoswald Fort. Nice place, they’ve stopped doing evening meals as a bolt-on to B&B, but the pub in the village does good food and the people at the farm will ferry you down and pick you up again. How bad is that? 🙂
COYG
Couldn’t really understand all the hype over the Cuntchester derby over the last few days, that fixture didn’t mean shit untill about three seasons ago.
Nice! Good you got a room there. Looked quite nice, booked a night there myself, but didn’t end up staying there since they apparently booked me in july and not in june as was the plan. They did say they were very sorry and got me a room at Bush Nook instead, which was quite nice (the couple running that place are very talkative – in a good way).
Just in case no one noticed I did predict a
@ 23 a goal from our defenders, but even I was wrong. They scored two! Yahaaaay!
Still dont believe we got Ozil…..!
Well Jay, that can only mean one thing, mate. You must predict, more often 😉 Guess I must root for United, but Citeh playing better then them, thus far.
@jay
u fuckin oracle! @23
Still dont believe we got Ozil…..!
I’m chuffed we didn’t get Fellaini, bloody chuffed!
Abb, is it possible for both teams to lose? If not I want them to draw but I don’t see this Manure team getting anything from this game.
Theres a funeral in manchester! Balance of power shifting? Crisis?
I guess my prediction was off 😉
Man U geting manhandled. Ha Ha
Oh Cent, the horse has galloped out of the barn door. Nice strike by Sammy, he’s a happy boy today!
Cent @ 238: Well both sets of players can get into a nasty brawl with each other and extend their courtesies to the match officials by which time their leaders from the bench join in the ruckus … leaving FA with no option but to deduct points from both teams.
One can only hope.
Whisper it quietly but if we are there or there abouts come January and we can bring in another forward we’ve got half a chance of challenging City for the Title, Loving watching United get a proper thumping – Look a tired old side to me.
Well now. City putting 4 past Manure (even if it puts City above us on goal difference) can the day get much better?
BMBD
Citeh can’t go above us today.
abb @ 242: Pellegrini is good at reviving careers. Actually there are many striking similarities — starting with the appearance and even the sartorial and extending to football style — with Arsene, a poor man’s Arsene Wenger so to speak, and overall a classy manager.
Too bad he joined that circus.
Lonestar: City already drew at Stoke and lost at Cardiff so they cannot go above us today on points.
Dr Faustus, quite right. Samir and Mancini never got on. Do believe Robert0 had valid criticism of Nasri, but didn’t handle him properly. Or Mario, for that matter.
For a moment there I was thinking all four defenders might score. 🙂
3-1, as predicted. Never in doubt.
Thought BFG was pick of the bunch, but solid contributions all over. Amazing to watch Ozil; he spent virtually the entire match in ten yards of space, took the tempo up and down at will and skinned their right back so badly he’s probably still MIA.
All looking very healthy, I do love this side. And lots of players still to come back from injury.
Not with any of the other title hopefuls. Not sure we have a proper title run in us just yet, but it does look pretty good so far.
Tried switching to the Spurs-game, but can’t stand seeing Cardiff play in red.
Credit to Rooney, what a goal.
Hey, we’re still on top , Spurs nipping at our heels. Somethings never change 😉
Spot on, abb!
Now, over to El Cashico, French Ed.
darn, shame about that Paulinhos goal, could be really superperfect Sunday:)
Very nice call on the Holic pound, Guv.
To be honest, I was expecting more from Gnabry. Had his chances, but lacked confidence, if only he could learn to use his speed in right way. Anyway, better than Theo in defense, controls the ball better and can create chances for himself, something Theo rarely does.
At just 17 years of age, I can only see him getting better.
Shame for the late goal at Cardiff, but to be fair, the Sp*rs were by far the better side, and are looking a better squad than last year. Having said that, I can only wonder what way they will find to mess it up this year, just as they always do.
Only saw the second half. A solid if unspectacular performance. Sort of home performance that could have seen a couple of dropped points in recent seasons past. But all three never seemed in doubt today. I guess that is what £42 million buys.
Beautiful win and still laughing that we beat Stoke at their own primitive game..To top it off Utd getting manhandled and drubbed by City even makes it better.
Is Moyes utterly devoid of brain cells though? Kagawa and Hernandez are unused subs rotting in the bench when your ‘creative’ hub of Rooney,Young,Welbeck being piss poor..Actually scratch that they were non existent.
Who cares.. Top of the league and long may it continue!
And a kind word about Stoke. They have evolved from Pre Stone Age football to Bronze Age.Deserves some appreciation..
Lurky, one of the few times we don’t see eye to eye( re Serge). Thought he looked the part TODAY! CMDrunk, yes, saw an improvement in Stoke’s game. Sadly, some of their player’s still stuck in the past. Relieved we don’t play Citeh until December. By then, most of our injured, should be back. Very wary of the Swans, btw. They look very menacing, to me. But why worry now, let’s just bask in our record winning streak, a little longer. And look benevolently down at our neighbors 😉
Dr. F @243, indeed.
Lurky, good call re Gnabry and Spurs. I expect Gnabry to do better with age and experience. I think Spurs lack of depth and Epl experience will blow it for them this year.
Watching Fellaini and Flamini today, albeit in different games, I’m very happy we got the later for £28million pounds less than Manure paid for the former.
I have always maintained that scoring from set pieces is the highest form of skill . I know this because the BBC told me regularly when we lost to Stoke. So revenge is sweet!
I thought we looked tired today (unsurprisingly) but were hauled through by some excellent performances from BFG, Sagna , Ramsey and above all the estimable Flamini. When we signed him we got an injection of character, determination and willingness to lead which have all proved very welcome. I thought he was superb today. OG battled manfully against the thug Orcs and Ozil did well.
Jack is still short of his best (understandably) but is vulnerable when Santi returns . Interesting that we managed to lay the Mike Dean bock and ironic that Stoke are much less effective when trying to play football.
The title is on
Gregory
Ramsey did bugger all except cover every blade of grass on the pitch and was robbed of a second goal in the last minute by Begovic. You’re winding us up right?
Nil by mouth
Not been in long from the game. Good result. Great organisation and great mental strength.
Top of the league after 5. Even MNB the closet spud can’t moan about that?
Ramsey outstanding yet again. All over the place. Shut the Stoke boys up good and proper. Awesome display.
Gregory = le grove user Dial Square …. OUTED IMPOSTER!!!!! 😉
Ttg, don’t bite the bait. Ignore. BTW, Good view of the game from you.
We need a troll booth. This site is for people who know something about the game.

Just saw this on Twitter and thought to share; most assists in the PL- Mesut. Most tackles in the league- Ramsey. Joint top scorer- Giroud. Top of the table- Arsenal. I know it’s still early days but we’ve not done badly for ourselves, at all.
Goofed on the €iteh going above us on goal difference, math never was my strong suit. Great game and great day. If only Cardiff could have carried our water a little further.
My thoughts go out to you and yours, Kenyan.
BMBD
What iLG said, Kenyan. Terrible business. Stay safe.
@265
Fair enough, nurse 🙂
I think that Gnabry has a great future at Arsenal, based on couple of NextGen games I saw last year, when he was exceptional. I keep in mind the difference in opponents quality between the PL and NextGen, and I know what a shock PL game means for such a young player.
As for today, I didn’t saw the required confidence in him, especially in the first 30 minutes. but he grew as the game continued.
Feel extremely happy that we have such a talent in the squad and looking forward to see him once again on Wednesday.
Spot on about Fellaini, Cent. His first touch today looked horrible.
Also didn’t Moyes look like a deer in the headlights at the end of the game, slumped in his seat. Fergie would have been up on his feet threatening his players with spontaneous combustion if they didn’t win it, and badgering the fourth official to give United three penalties in time added on. And what was with only the added time being played in added time? Don’t the refs know the watch keeps running until United win. No more Fergie time either? This is going to be a strange season. We might even win a trophy…
MNB – doctor doctor, my knob has turned orange.
Doctor – orange? That’s not normal. Tell me your habits, what do you do?
MNB – not much really. I just sit at home naked watching my Gareth Bale dvd’s and eating Wotsits.
😀
Agree Lurky, We are blessed with young talent. 🙂
… Di Canio is first to the tape in the sack race…
CRAPPPP, stupid me, betting that the Portuguese Pimp would be the first to get the sack, but the fascist saluting Di Canio just HAD to beat him to it….
Anyone else noticed that we are by far more dangerous from set pieces when Sagna is in the opponents box instead of the last- defender role, he usually has.
With Flamini in the team, Arsene can comfortably put Gibbs and Flamini in the last-defender role and put Sagna where he belongs- in the opponents box, winning headers and scoring goals, even against Stoke.
NED, Moyes is in a very bad situation(and I love it), he doesn’t have enough of the players that can make things happen on their own and he doesn’t look tactically sound enough to win anything of note with the players he has. I don’t get why players like Welbeck, Valencia, Cleverley and young get on the pitch ahead of Kagawa and Hernandez. IMO, he’s trying to coach Manure like Everton, his tactics at Everton can’t win big games or trophies, they might actually win the odd big game(just as they did at Everton) but they will ultimately fall short. He might prove me wrong in the end but then he has been managing in the EPl for close to a decade now and I’m just and ordinary football fan.
cba, I forgot my manners (long day of footie). You are so welcome.
Watched ACM V Napoli. So I could spy on the latter 😉 But the antics of Mario, stole the show. 🙂
Cent@292, I also think the canny Ferguson put everything on winning a trophy in his last year, including paying 24m for a greying, injury prone Dutch skunk, and did not address an ageing defence and an inadequate midfield. And regarding ManUre’s laughable transfer attempts this summer, we all forget that Ferguson employed by the club and is hardly without influence. By the way, I liked the sight of the Dutch skunk in that ridiculous parody of a public school blazer, and I hope to see it for long stretches of time from now on…
Don’t underestimate how good a manager SAF actually was. He squeezed every last bit of effort out of all his players, he got them playing way better then they actually were, that was his strength.
Moyes is out of his depth, he hasn’t got the pedigree to fill old red nose’ shoes. but then again, few have. Moyes is not a bad manager, his years at Everton show that, but Man U is not Everton, but they very soon may well be.
Bstrum, there is no disputing the fact that Fergie blew resources at United but he always won trophies so people threw that under the carpet. I think United want to change their strategy and do more about balancing their books and if I’m not mistaking they also changed their CEO. Will be nice to see how they fare.
As for Robin, the look on his face when his team mates were been mauled was priceless but I’d very much prefer to have him on the pitch for them huffing and puffing to no avail.
“I’ll go with the 3-1 to the ever more handsome Gunners, with Mesut to Orc-estrate the victory.” (Trev #55)
Spot on Trev, 3-1 and three assists to Özilla the Hun. A handsome prediction from the punmeister.
Funny thing is Özil didn’t look so dynamic, or actually seem to do a lot, but still the biggest influence on the win, imo. The difference between this year and last in one player. Bergkamp Mk2?
Öskar
howdy cba 🙂
You have mail, ‘Hols.
Damned math machine won’t let me trade Walcott for Ozil. The reason? A whopping deficit of .1 mil pounds. I guess the trade will have to wait.
I thought Gnabry made a good show btw.
So, when will the spuds drop points?

Snir@294, haven’t dared to say it aloud, but yes, it’s a possibility…
And cent@290, think you’re right because there did seem to be much more (relatively speaking) restraint even before this summer at the hedge fund collateral that is Manchester United. Meanwhile, their chief executive Ed Woodward reportedly leaving their Australian tour to head to Spain to finalize the Fabregas signing has to be as asinine as our own Dick “The Dick” Law wandering around Trinidad and Tobago trying to find the agent of a certain Joe L. Campbell.

36hrs n counting…extremist cunts! We shall overcome.
Serge Gnabry effortlessly fits in the first 11… Looking forward to a Zalalem start on wednesday…i think the kid will make ozil jelous!
Unfortunately Zelalem out for another six weeks or so…Hope all ends as best as possible in Nairobi.
kenyan, too right you shall. regardless of whether their stance is right or wrong, that attack was cowardly and desperate. also, the loss of Awinoor is huge, though even the smallest child lost causes as great pain. blessings on your people.
My prayers go out to those suffering in Nairobi.

Love you.
Be safe.
Apologies all. Incapable of writing last night. It will be a late one.
Let me off this once 😉

Lurky, good spot with Sagna in the box. Hadn’t thought it it. Will now. Again, this is the place to be to have some proper discussions. And punfests, of course.
I remember the Guvnor sayind he’d have to write the report last night because today was Monday. Guess he was more drunk than he thought 😉
Oh well, tonight then!
Hangover not as bad as feared, but I’d still rather have stayed in bed….
Lovely to see so many holics again yesterday.
hah, just seen the 302 🙂
Fantastic strike, Steve T.
And take care, all in Kenya
Heh, Holic,
Looks like the tardiness of upcoming post should make the Guinness Book of Records – it’s all their fault anyway. 😉
Cheers Oskar,
Very observant of you – I’m flattered, and
Kenyan,
Take care out there. Hope you and yours are all safe.
Things to like:
Beating Stoke. (Who to their credit tried to play a passable form of football, unlike their previous incarnations)
Some tasty cynicism from our team to disrupt play.
Özil – turns, changes in speed, time, space , measured and beautifully weighted passes – Bradyesque – pure class.
Flamini – covered, discipline, simplicity, available for passes, impressive.
Top drinks at the bar with some exemplary postings throughout. Thank you.
Best wishes to all suffering at present.
Snir 301. Thank you for your concern. All holics who have had Nairobi/Kenya in their thoughts also thank you . I am safe and so is my family. I had a friend who was stuck in the mall for hours before help came but eventually he was rescued. 1000 people so far rescued and 175 with injuries. 68 dead and about 30 still held hostage. Please keep them in your prayers.
Arsenal did brighten our day after a horrid weekend and the spanking of the red mancs made it even more bearable. Onwards and upwards.
Dreadful stuff going on in Kenya. Attacking the innocent and unarmed must be the height of cowardice.
Had a really good time yesterday, cheers all for contributing! Watched MOTD2 through rather drunken eyes but I could still see that Spurs were bloody lucky to not have Lloris sent off and how Cardiff should have had their goal given. And while I can’t remember what he said, I remember thinking that Alan Shearer had no clue at all about what he was waffling on about.
Anyway, still very pleased with the win. Three nice points, three goals from set pieces and the Stoke fans made twats of themselves as usual. Can’t really complain about than, can you?
Prayers going out to all those in Kenya.
With our style of play we will always accumalate quite a numorous amount of free kicks and corners, however we haven’t been very potent from either. Yes, Poldi can take a decent one every now and again, last year against the Orcs coincedently, and Arteta once in a blue moon, but yesterday Ozil showed us the way.
He knew exactly where he was putting the ball and his team mates knew too. it was no coincidence that Per got on the end of the second corner, he’d had a full dress rehearsel a few minutes earlier.
Yet another dimension our new player will bring, YAAAAAAEEEH!
It’s interesting that the Gunners are beginning to be thought of by even some doubters as title contenders. I reckon the 14/1 available earlier is well over the odds. Ozil is a terrific player but it’s also the confidence and soc-emotional synergy that has occurred in the team which could prove decisive. There are some troublesome teams including, I hate to say it, the LWC’s but the real dangers are Mancity and Chelsea for the title. Manure are just crap and seeing Saurez’s expression he was horrified by Liverpool’s performance on the weekend and rightly so. I’d love him in an Arsenal shirt because he’s quality plus although it may have passed. I’m not totally convinced on Benzema but if AW decides he’s the go in January then it may be the difference. The addition of a quality striker will multiply our chances. I wonder what other punters might think of Arsenal’s current odds for the title. I’d still take 9/2 if I hadn’t got my money on earlier. I’d trade it all to see the great man, AW win another title when it was least expected with this great bunch of current players we have. I’m really pleased Flamini is back with his enthusiasm and commitment. There is a lot to like about this squad of players!
I’d rather see Bentdner playing in tandem with Park and Lee Chapman then see Bitey McBlackhater in an Arsenal shirt……
But maybe that’s just me.
I think we need a full rotation Wednesday even if it means getting dumped out of the C1 Cup. Viviano , Jenks, Monreal, Vermaelan, Arteta, Gnabry, Ryo, Bendtner should all play around BFG, Flamini and Ozil. That’s still a decent side to beat Brom. Not very fit and I’m not sure where a goal is coming from though ( Mesut’s first? ) Either way, it’s all hands on deck for the Premiere League with this start we’ve had. Then Napoli to think about ….
I’ll take Suarez right now. We’d score a 100 league goals.
Based on what?
The Chipmonks ability to score a few?
Funny that the statistics will tell you that Liverpoo are actually a better team when he’s not in it.
I’ve been following him since he was at Groningen, he’s left under a cloud of contreversy from every club since and was more then willing to slither out of Anfield, calling them out even after the unconditional support he had recieved. At the first hint of pastures greener he’d do exactly the same thing to us, no matter what we gave him if Real came a knocking and we blocked his move a biting he would go, or maybe worse until he got his way.
Forget the fact that he can net a few, he’s a cheat and a nasty piece of work and we are way too good to let a cunt like that anywhere near our team.
Afternoon all
Whilst The Maestro gathers his thoughts and possibly clears his little bit thumping head (?) I’ll wade in with a comment to agree with Duttlenheim i.e. that the COCup can do just that.
If we fielded a side with Bould, Bendy and Park in it I would be more than happy so long as we rest our key first-teamers before we face The Swans at The Liberty. For me, that includes Ozil.
I know some will disagree, some might even think the COCup our best chance of silverware this season. I think we have much bigger fish to fry.
Drinks on the bar for all.
PS: Trust the ‘Holic gathering yesterday was completely un-remember able 😉
No need to ‘fret’ H2H. I think that controversial ship has long-sailed. Didn’t we ‘chat’ about something similar last week?
I am half-expecting a cheeky bid for a rotund granny-shagger though….
H2H, knows.
… and Rooney, ‘ears.
@320: TS, Are we bidding for Shaft this January? 🙂
CoR – Heh! ‘I don’t want to comment on speculation’. 😉
Heh, yeah it would be a bit classless 😉
Shaft has his people “leaking” imaginary bids to any blog that can be seen by the eyes of a human though, lol
How about bidding 10 m for RvP? 😛 with SAF gone he might be all about “clubs ambition and vision” again.
Not that I want to see van Pigsty in Arsenal shirt ever again, but it would be fun to watch at least.
Afternoon prof’.
As long as we are in need of a striker I’m afraid that ship, read waterlogged rat infested, scurvy breading, barnacle infested, hole ridden piece of shit rowboat, is still firmly in the harbour, ready to be tugged out at the first sign of a Giroud hobble or failure in a game to find the back of the net.
Rooney looked far from happy yesterday, not for the first time this season he was easily the best player in a red manc shirt, but seems to realise that those around him aren’t quite up to task. I can see him leaving, but not until next summer, as he’d be ineligable for all cup competitions, and then only to Chelsea.
Cheers Cent.
Afternoon all,
Anticipating a very late review as the Guvnor had had more pints than ManUtd have points this season – and that was before kick-off.
A point about Stoke and their brain dead fans.
They, in common with one or two ‘workmanlike’, mainly English populated teams from the wrong end of the Premier League, used to delight in singing at us, when our foreigners were taking a kicking from their boys, “You need more Englishmen !”.
Well, we now have a few, and one in particular who carries the international hopes of most of the nation on his shoulders.
He is, of course, Jack Wilshere. The very same young man who has missed most of the last two seasons due to injury, and is now struggling his way back to form and fitness.
One has to assume that the England team and the much vaunted “Englishmen” are a concern, and cause of some pride, to these rather dimwitted choristers.
Strange then that they delight in seeing their own Englishmen kicking the legs from under our own, every time he gets near the ball.
These pea brained oafs are still cheering Ryan Shawcross and booing Aaron Ramsey (has there ever been a less offensive character in football) for the fact that the former smashed the latter’s leg in half over theee and a half years ago.
Bullies like the giant Huth are still throwing their shoulders into the face of a teenage debutant, Gnabry, simply for going past him with a piece of skill that the defender never has and never will possess.
One nasty piece of work has replaced another as the Stoke manager and has opined today that the referee has had much better games. Shawcross, keen to compete with his manager in the bleating stakes, took some time yesterday to berate the referee for not noticing that he had had his shirt pulled.
It would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.
The quicker this pile of shite finds itsself relegated, the better the top division will be.
And spare me the ‘Hughes is turning them into a nice passing team’ nonsense too.
Ninety one league clubs sit below us today. 😉
I’m with you at 319 TS
Complaints about the ref?
And there was me thinking that Dean had a rather decent games by his own standards! Don’t remember anything even half-controversial for either side.
Right on, Trev.
That reminds me Ollie, I call out Refs when they have a shit game so I believe I should give credit to Mike Dean for having a decent game, he called almost the fouls from both teams and never didn’t allow the Orcs kick their way through the game.
And if this is true, Flamini is a boss! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BU2kopdCYAEFYX9.png
Wow Cent, talk about having an enforcer in a squad, Flamini really proves to be a masterstroke by Arsene so far.

Just back in the internetted world after a weekend in Halong Bay with no tv or WiFi. Miss B kindly texted me the goals in nearly real time as I sat in a boat on the bay astonishing my Australian fellow travellers with yells of ‘Yes!’ on three occasions and a muttered ‘Oh Fuck!’ once. Looking forward to the Guvna’s view of the game. I noticed the Hanoi Gooners have finally broken cover with three shirts in the rush hour this afternoon.

Good job guys, 3 more points and on top of the league. Yea I know it’s still early but still a very good feeling. Prayin for the folks in Kenya, hope these coward scums can just start killing themselves instead of innocent people that didn’t do them anything. Good day to my fellow gunners!!!!

‘The Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, says Luis Suárez is “champing at the bit” to return.’
So Clattenburg it will be next Sat.
Cent @ 332 That’s awesome if true
Heh @337. 🙂
Cent,
Flamini won’t be short of a trick or two having spent 4 years at Milan.
But since when are players cautioned for what other players claim they have said ? Possibilities are endless – not to say unfounded ?
H2H and Trev know.
Btw, with the return of the Flame we’ve got some now. If we can get Frimpong into the second squad, we’ll be able to call on some muscle to protect Ozil, Jack, and Santi.
Shaft knows about muscle…
