Hello Aaron And Robin's Return
Jun 14th, 2008 by 'holic
We waited patiently, and as minutes turned into hours, and hours to days, we wondered. Where was the confirmation on .con of the signing of Aaron Ramsey. Ah, there it is now.
It’s a really interesting one is this, bringing out the best, and worst, of people. On the plus side you couldn’t wish for a better start than to have the player himself snub very public and confident bids from Manchester United to join us. He is a strong midfielder, and we have just lost one of those. He is a widely acclaimed as a huge prospect who can play in more than one position. A typical Wenger signing really.
The naysayers should not be lightly dismissed when they grumble that this is not the experienced signing we need. They should however recognise there are still seventy-eight days to go before the transfer window closes. I’ve seen some mutter something about ‘not winning titles with kids’. Please, give him a chance. He may take a year or so to settle in, and in that case we will not see him in the side week in and week out next season. Then again, and I hope this comes to pass, he may hit the ground running and force himself into the side.
Good luck son, and welcome.
Elsewhere it is pretty much as was. AC Milan continue to court Adebayor, or more accurately his agent, through the pages of the press. Nothing will come of it, I’m sure, but be aware that this will rumble on until August 31st.. I won’t dismiss it out of hand, however. A huge fee could fund some deals that might not otherwise have happened. Ken Friar will be an extremely busy bunny at present.
Those who have watched Holland dismantle the two World Cup finalists will be rushing out to get a bet on this morning. Impressive as they have been I still have a sneaking fancy for Spain. Anyway, it was good to see Robin van Persie back with a goal and absorbing a couple of challenges from his old mate Thierry, and Quasibery.
Have a good weekend all.

Good point on lots of time being left in the transfer window ‘holic. And, it’s not as if anybody else has been doing anything in the transfer market with Euro 2008 in full flow. Plus, if you take the Nasri deal as done, then we have been the first out of the gates. Plus, we signed a great prospect in Ramsey.
I think it is a great signal that Ramsey chose us over the dirty Mancs. It sends out a strong message, and you know that Demento will be seething about this, which is always good.
I think we chill out, watch the Euros, and hope none of our players get crocked. After the tournament ends, AW will get busy in the transfer market, pre-season will start, and we can get ready for a great season. We will fly under the radar again, with the media focussing on that diving little Portuguese shit at Manure and Scolari’s spending at Chavski. I’d rather be the underdog (again) — we came VERY close last year starting from 4th on the grid (at best) in all the experts’ predictions.

Heh, thirsty were we?
