Brief Doesn’t Cover It

Oct 24th, 2019 by 'holic

I understand when Ive been  around for the last twelve years I have never missed a preview and it’s been something that’s been planned I have got a drinker to step into the breach. Here we are at 9.30 for whatever, and now, hopefully just this once I am not in a position to do the full preview and surely it’s too late to ask a drinker to take over at this short notice and particularly.

I am only writing this because people will still want to discount the ‘holic pound from their bet tomorrow, when hopefully the Europa League team is back and they can repeat the form they have shown so far and achieve whtincreasingly and worryingly is beyond our Premier League team for whatever reason.

The’holic pound is on a hopeful 3-0 to the Gunners. I’ve got 15/2.

Oops so tired I forgot to hit send on an explanation.

    With several regulars in
    attendance tonight we’ll
    be spoilt for choice for
    reports 🙂

    Hope you enjoy the evening
    Scruz !

3-0 seems a good bet for
    the score though I don’t
    know that much about the
    opposition.

I’d expect Emi in goal. After
that I’ll be interested to see
    who plays in defence and
midfield as it might give us
some pointers for the line up
    against Palace.

I don’t mind UE telling the
    press we played well against
    Sheff Utd and were unlucky
as long as he doesn’t actually
    believe that bollocks himself.
    There should be changes
    after that performance and
    tonight’s XI may reflect that.

The collective drinkers’s preview is, play the cup team, let the kids sparkle and the injury returnees get some minutes under their belts, and land the ‘Holic pound in style.

    Done.

Just back from a trip up the Nile or would have been happy to fill in though it would have had neither the eloquence or humour we are used to, Guvna.

I think Blogs made an excellent point that the selections last Monday suggest that Bellerin, Mustafi, Holding and Tierney will be the back line in front of Martinez with Torreira starting in midfield alongide Willock and Ozil/Ceballos all of whom are as a result almost certainly and sadly, locked into the midweek cup games bar injury or suspension to the hapless Keystone cops who start for the ‘first XI’. A front three of AMN/ESR, Lacazette and Martinelli will probably complete the starters tonight. Whether youthful enthusiasm and endeavour overcomes the dead hand of the fearful coach remains to be seen.

I expect a win but only because there is talent in that XI that will shine despite the coach’s confusing instructions. However I know little of the opposition. Their Europa result this season are poor and I understand they have failed to score yet. Well, I expect that statistic to change tonight but we should still have enough to beat them unless we score early and are instructed to cling onto what we have for the rest of the game.

For those who haven’t read it yet, Blogs’ Wednesday post analyses Emery’s CV and puts his arsenal performances into stark context. He is what he always was. Only a fantasist can expect our performances and results to improve.

    Holic
Nae problem as they say north of the border.
Our best team will play tonight ( we may insert Laca into the Liege team ) and we will pulverise Guimaraes …But that won’t mean too much Re Sunday .
    I’d say 4-0 but who’s counting ?

Another one, there will be three today by the end of tonight. iBtM, my sincere thanks for you to fill a breach in such entertaing fashion.

So, half of tonight’s starting unit (Laca, Tierney, Bellerin, Torreira, Holding) were clearly fit and ready enough to start the far more important Premiership match just three days ago. Why Not Unai ?
