Arsene Faces Good Klopp, Or Bad Klopp?
Nov 5th, 2013 by 'holic
Two of the most entertaining young sides in the Champions League go head to head for the second time in a fortnight, and despite Borussia Dortmund’s 1-2 victory in North London this return fixture really is wide open.
The Germans enjoyed a late winner by Robert Lewandowski after Arsenal, inspired in the second-half by substitute Santi Cazorla, had looked likelier to snatch a decider after a shaky first-half performance. Nobody could complain about that scoreline. The visitors worked hard for long periods to deny Arsenal time and space in which to play. The securing of three points suggests that Dortmund’s colourful manager, Jurgen Klopp, won the tactical contest despite being banned from the bench for throwing a strop in Napoli.
Klopp’s team, who have never lost at home to an English club, are chasing an eighth straight European home win in succession. As Bayern Munich will be able to attest, such records are there to be broken when the Arsenal travel to Germany. If either side wins they will make themselves favourites to progress from the tightest of groups in this season’s competition.
In the Signal Iduna Park Arsenal will start with the aforementioned Cazorla in a midfield now missing Mathieu Flamini, Jack Wilshere, and Abou Diaby, as well as wide men Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. That Cazorla will probably appear alongside Mesut Ozil and Tomas Rosicky, and ahead of the deeper-lying Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta, is a testament to the strength of the Gunners engine room.
That Arsenal midfield holds the key for this mouthwatering repeat. Those five have the joint responsibility of restricting the supply line to the dangerous duo Lewandowski and Marco Reus, whilst getting forward in sufficient numbers to support Olivier Giroud when we get forward. It is the sort of game we have done well in this season, soaking up the expected pressure before countering lethally.
Arsene Wenger summed up the reason why the ‘holic pound is extremely difficult to call.
“We are a positive side, Dortmund are a positive side, so you have a guarantee both sides will try and win the game”
I’m persuaded to look for value in the away win column, more out of blind faith than deep conviction. One High Street bookie offers a staggering 20/1 against a good old-fashioned one nil to the Arsenal. I cannot ignore that, although we will need to be more disciplined defensively than a fortnight ago. That is something of which we are more than capable.
So to the Gooners already out there, and those traveling on the day, accept our wishes for a great evening as another European tour reaches a critical stage.
Have a good one, ‘holics.

What H2H said. 🙂
Good piece, Guvnor. Can’t disagree with a word of it. Have a nightcap on me.
Night all.
COYG
Fully agree, H. Too close to call but we can win it.
COYG
Will it be a Blood, Bath?
Cheers all. Will not get to watch live but will hope to follow while at work.
H2H,
Looking forward to match day 12. I will try a write an email with my travel details at some point soon. We are headed to Vegas this weekend for 4 days so I may be a wee bit incommunicado this weekend. Still looking to see us give yanited a right beat down Sunday. I just think we will.
Great stuff , ‘holic
Truth is we might get away with a defeat as long as Dortmund do for Napoli as well. I do however believe we are capable of doing well there but it would certainly help to get some more bodies out of the sick bay.
Hope not, NorCal. We can’t afford any more casualties.
Cheers all,
Some really good drinks post Liverpool. Thanks for raising the standard again. It is much appreciated.
😉
Norcal.
can hardly wait mate. Drop me a line when you return. Vegas is da bomb, be careful out there. 😉
This is the type of game where decisions need to be made by the coach due to another big fixture with man u only days away.
I think arsene wants to knock off klopp big time and good on him.
He is not talking about draws or any other result except going for it and why wouldn’t you with the type of form we are in.
Given our unfortunate injury list of (3 weekers) there is probably not that many position decisions he has options with, which is both fortunate and unfotunate.
But it does show how important getting your team ready as an entire squad during pre- season and minimising team damage from the pre- season. Unfortunately for arsenal we have not been too lucky on these fronts for a few seasons.
Even worse when players miss pre- season due to the previous end of season injuries or surgery.
Once you have 3-4 key injuries you are basically playing russian roulette for the next 10-12 weeks or longer as the fit players begin to fatigue and just as you get others back, new injuries appear.
This is where a mixture of youth legs need to be balanced with experienced hard legs.
This is why world class cycling teams dont just toss out the older guys and replace them with youngsters because it simply doesn’t work in the long haul over a season.
Young players simply do not have hardened match fit seasoned legs no matter their talent levels.
Examples for us are wilshire, gibbs and ox. I am sure there are also plenty more.
Looking forward to a world class clash.
It will be a great test and games like this are the reason you strive to qualify for the Champions League. Patrick Barclay in the Standard on Monday suggested Arsenal are incapable of maintaining a challenge in the League and the CL. His logic seemed flawed to me because we have a large squad if only they could stay fit at the same time!It is a high quality squad except in the striker department and we could hurt anyone if Giroud can stay fit.
Barclay felt the difference between the Chelsea and Liverpool performances showed we didn’t have the squad to rotate but he conveniently forgot that we have dominated the physioroom.com list all season!
If I had to prioritise anything for this season it would be the title although as Chelsea proved the CL is winnable by a team that falls short of the highest standards by some way. At our best we are a better team than that Chelsea team but our group is very tough and a draw would represent a great achievement tomorrow but not a great result. A point on Sunday would be a great result but not a wonderful achievement. I hope we can continue to balance both competitions because I dread the prospect of the Europa League.
It will be a terrific occasion and a very good test of our current level. I hope Mesut can rise to his very best tomorrow as he did against Napoli and we can maintain our wonderful away form
For those who missed Young acting against Sociedad tonight, here it is.
http://footballtweet.lockerdome.com/media/110249927
He managed to get a penalty for that, which RvP missed. I really don’t understand how Mr. Young is not banned from football or every other sport for life.
Cheating like Young’s will continue until there are retrospective sanctions for diving . Should be a three match ban.
Flint,
Brilliant stuff about the goalies. you were right about Joe Baker at Leicester. We put the smallest guy in the team in goal and the one most likely to score!
I think the last sub goalie was Vito in Greece . The sub for a non-injured goalie was as people have observed Taylor for Wright against Everton and of course the biggest goalie subbing was Almunia for Jens-which a sensible ref could have avoided. I love that sort of stuff. Somecall it trivia but they wouldn’t be Gooners!
Good evening everyone. Arresting title, Holic 😉 Feel better about our chances after reading this piece. Good stuff and all true.
Very good abb 😉
🙂 Holic. hey, this is my chance to second what you said about the last set of drinks. Very enjoyable. xx
Nice preview guv’.
Form of the day and rub of the green will decide this one, both teams are capable of crisp passing and playing well, both have game changers that are capable of a touch of magic in their ranks.
The home advantage will be more then audible, their supporters make a hell of a noise in that stadium, but we’ve silenced a German crowd before this year and I’m looking forward to us doing it again.
Up the Gunners.
Some people might suggest that particular High Street bookie is, er, high to give such odds on the 0-1. But I say your money is well spent ‘holic and we will see a late smash and grab winner by Santi and the not so not so borin boring Arsenal. COYRRRs.
Nice one Holic,
Although I would think a 1-2 is more likely than a 0-1.
Abb, good to see you joining Holic amongst the puns. 😉
Good Klopp – Bad Klopp; it must be the Law – of Averages.
And what Lurky and bath said about Young. ManUre must have a lot of diving instructors to keep producing the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo and now Young – why are they allowed to get away with it ? Oh yes …….
Hey Trev 🙂
Aussie 13
what big game on Sunday?
It looks to me like we are playing the team that is between Everton and Newcastle in the league.
I would like Arsenal to play tomorrow night like it’s the second leg of a cup tie.
2 away goals required.
(I did call it 2-0 against liverpool).
15
Manchester United.
The Club with no shame.
Having predicted in these drinks (before the season began) that Manure would be struggling to make top 4 this year without Fergie and Scholes, I don’t see Sunday’s game being the traditional OT visit. It should be a routine away draw at worst, and more likely a routine hanging-on-over-the-last-15-minutes for a nerve-wracking win match.
Less sure about Dortmund who play the pressing game better than most, and that does NOT suit us at all. Let’s hope our guys have their shooting boots on and can take the opportunities that come our way.
Öskar
25 double canister.
very good point. nothing to worry about then.
onwards and upwards and use our spare players for sunday then.
Draw tonight, win on the weekend I’m hoping.
Might be two draws though.
A draw in Dortmund wouldn’t be so bad, but I wanna see us clip Klopp’s wings tonight … not least to see what the critics have to say then!
Öskar
I’m with you Öskar.
Will be good to shut them up but I like flying under the radar with a few lowkey performances. We’ll drop more bombs that way later on! 8)
Re: Cannons. Sneaky one, aren’t you? I wonder if the oppo even considered that one. 😉
Oskar and CoR – count me in.
Indeed, i foresee a convincing win.
Yes thats right: 2-0 to the boys from London.
Our Frenchman is going to show them how its done.
Cheers all.
And yes, that irony was actually intentional.
OG!!!!
I’m bored so I decided to come up with the rest of the lyrics for the Giroud song on my own 😀
Giroud, keep working hard
Take a good pass and make it better.
Remember to get it into their half,
Then you can start to make it better.
Giroud, don’t be afraid.
You were made to go out and score.
The minute you make that near post run,
You can flick on and make it better.
And anytime you feel the pain, Giroud, refrain,
Keep playing off the defender’s shoulders.
For well you know that if you do, they’ll look a fool
As Arsenal keeps on getting stronger.
La-la-la-laa-la, la-la-la-laa-la
Giroud, don’t let me down.
You have found goals, now go and get more.
Remember to get it into their half,
Then you can start to make it better.
So hold it up and put them in, Giroud, begin,
Keep waiting for someone to link up with.
And even though that it’s just you, Giroud, you’ll do,
The movement you need is off their shoulder.
La-la-la-laa-la, la-la-la-laa-la
Giroud, keep working hard
Take a good pass and make it better.
Remember to get it into their half,
Then you can start to make it
Better better better better better better!!!

Just came across this too! Haha!
http://www.holymoly.com/football-news/stan-collymore-rips-crap-match-day-especially-alan-shearer50861
Just sent this to the Premier League.
I am still shocked, and most of all angry.
Hello,
I recently listened to ESPN FC TV podcast and they had an ASK THE REF portion with Peter Walton, a former PGMOL referee for the Premier League.
http://espnfc.com/podcasts/index/_/id/1605793?cc=4716
This is the podcast and it starts around the 9 minute mark.
My concern is that when speaking about the event that happened during the Arsenal vs. Liverpool game where the referee Martin Atkinson stopped Liverpool from playing a quick free kick as he decided to book Bacary Sagna for his challenge of holding Luis Suarez. Peter Walton stated that it was within Atkinson’s rights as a referee to brandish a yellow card whenever he likes, and therefore a quick free kick taken could be taken.
Walton stated that it is in the rules that Atkinson can allow a quick free kick and delay the booking until after the free kick has been taken.
That is the complete opposite of the rule which appears on page 122 of Fifa Laws of the Game which states as follows:
Delaying the restart of play to issue a card
Once the referee has decided to issue a card, whether to caution or send off a
player, play must not be restarted until the sanction has been administered.
In addition, Atkinson must brandish a card as the foul was holding an opponent and according to the laws he must brandish a card as is stated in page 120:
Holding an opponent includes the act of preventing him from moving past or
around using the hands, the arms or the body.
Referees are reminded to make an early intervention and to deal fi rmly with
holding offences especially inside the penalty area at corner kicks and free
kicks.
To deal with these situations:
• the referee must warn any player holding an opponent before the ball is in
play
• caution the player if the holding continues before the ball is in play
• award a direct free kick or penalty kick and caution the player if it happens
once the ball is in play
If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues
holding him inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick.
While I know this contact us section of your website is not to criticize employees of the Premier League, I am addressing you as a fan that lives and breathes the Premier League and I must say I am both appalled and concerned that a former Premier League referee does not know the rules.
I hope you treat this as a serious matter and brief the referees to go over the rulebook in their next conference with the PGMOL and the Premier League.
This is of high importance as the Premier League is a brand that reaches out to millions (and maybe even billions) all over the world, and thus must set an example of professionalism. The least we should expect from the Premier League rules is to know the rules so that they can referee a game fairly and competently.
Please make sure this is treated seriously so that future occurrences such as these can be prevented.
Yours Sincerely,
Snir Geuli
Nice one Snir. Let’s hope you get a reply! And better still a clarification in the next show … although I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Öskar
You’re no Paul McCartney let alone a Tim Rice, CoR, but a worthy effort nonetheless. Except you’re three na-na-nas short in each line. 😉
I’d keep the day job … unless it’s one of Tony Robinson’s ‘Worst Jobs In History’ of course … http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Worst_Jobs_in_History !
Öskar
Cheers H. I’m putting serious money on Young performing the same fucking trick on Sunday. And then we all know what will happen up there in the Theatre of Bollox.
Morning Esso.
Utd have picked Oliver instead of Webb. Could be their undoing?
Haha, Öskar it’s not ideal but better than sin-eating 🙂
Thank you ‘Holic. Unusually for me, I am nervous about this game. However, no point worrying in advance. Will just try to enjoy the match and hope I’m proven wrong. Feeling more confident already … come on the Arsenal. Stuff ’em (or just beat them 1-0 :-)).
I don’t think Young is available at the weekend. He is due to partner Tom Daly in a pre commonwealth games tournament.
Nice write up Holic. Wins for us and marseille would be very welcome.
I actually think anyone who says we don’t have a sufficiently deep enough squad to compete for both title and CL is 100% right.
We are unlikely to win anything unless we can get to the root of why the treatment room is full to bursting every season.
Green eyed female physios, I reckon. 😉
@46 Zico
All joking aside why the fuck is it? We have state of the art medical facilities and I can not believe that our conditioning, physio, dietary requirements, recovery drills, etc. etc., differ radically from any other top flight football club. After all, was not Wenger one of the first managers, certainly in England, to significantly alter training regimes, diet, fitness routines, etc., shortly after he first joined the club? I can remember the likes of Steve Bould claiming his playing career was significantly extended by the introduction of proper stretching routines, warm downs and the banning of alcohol after matches. So I do not buy into the theory of ‘Arsenal don’t know what they’re doing in terms of players fitness’.
However we have more injuries that any other club and definitely more long term injuries than any other club.
Why? Fucking why?
“Good Klopp, bad Klopp” – fucking brilliant 🙂
I’d say Dortmund are favourites to get the three points, but not by a huge margin. Let us not forget that a draw wouldn’t be too bad a result for them either, they have Napoli at home and Marseille away in their last two games and I struggle to see them get anything less than six points in those games which would see them top the group. Don’t get me wrong, they will want the win which would all but secure qualification for them but I don’t think they’ll be chasing it that much if the score is level with about 15-20 minutes to go, and neither will we I think. I’d say the difference between losing and drawing would be much, much greater than the difference between drawing and winning for both teams.
And Ashley Young is a disgrace to the game.
AW has yet to win the CL and is in the twilight of his career. Furthermore, qualifying for the group stage is of fundamental importance from a financial perspective. Thus, I expect our very best team to be fielded with no eye on the weekend fixture.
Adams gave an insightful interview on Sky. He simply laughed at the notion of Wenger setting up a team to get a draw. He never does it. He always plays to win.
So its one game at a time. If we get nothing from tonights game, it puts serious pressure on us in the final games to achieve qualification. From such a wonderful start, we really should not find ourselves in this position.
Agree with Joe. We won’t play for a draw, though we probably should.
I sometimes think we would benefit from being a little bit cuter in how we approach fixtures like this, but equally I respect the way that the manager tries to win every single game we play. It’s the way football should be.
Just to note, Lewandowski is quoted in Bild today: “I will reveal my decision next year. Nobody needs to contact me anymore”. He is going to Bayern and is not listening to other offers.
Wenger might never have set his teams up to go out for a draw, but his most successful sides have always had the ability to do so regardless. Remember P38 W26 D12? Which included a crucial 0-0 at The Theatre of Bollox, even if Van Horseface cunt was largely responsible for it being a draw.
Agree with that too Esso.
Question is do we have the leadership and personality to emulate those lads who knew how to grind out results and were merciless in defence?
We didn’t in 2007/8, and it was all down to our lack of defensive discipline.
Like most, I find myself hoping his latest team have the Cajones to break through.
Esso /Joe I always thought that the last trophy win over Manure at Cardiff in 2005, the team was set up in a defensive mode and we clung on for a desperate draw, with PV4 slotting home the winning penalty kick. I despaired at the performance but gave myself a wry chuckle for if there was 1 team to get a lucky win against, it would be those fuckers.
AW doesn’t do defensive mode but since that horrible result at the swamp last season, the team has added a more defensive mind set in which the whole team contributes by pressing in the right areas and Arteta/Flimflam marshalling the troops in front of the back 4. This has proved to be ultra successful with only a rare blip…which has to be expected. Of course the best opposition such as Dortmund are more likely to take advantage of these occasional oportunities. Tonight the result could go any way. With the right focus on the pitch, we could be singing ” if you all love arsenal klopp your hands” by the end of the evening.
I’ll get my coat.
Or Klippety Klopp?
One nil to the Arsenal it is, Holic.
West Fife pessimism from Dr Z. Over here in the East, in the land where unbridled optimism rules, where the sun always shines on the peach groves just outside Cupar, we just KNOW that the squad is strong enough to win two titles. 🙂 Come on over and catch a few golden rays.
And of-course, our unbridled optimism comprehends the acquisition of Luis Suarez or equivalent in the January sales. 🙂
…and of course, the right result tonight would leave us open to all sorts of “Arsenal clip Kopp wings” headlines.
Upply, I think you picked up my coat
Arsenal will have to run like dogs tonight and defend like tigers to get any sort of result against a superior Dortmund side. If Arsenal can pull off a draw tonight it will a huge achievement. Being as lover of the Bundersliga, Dortmund over the years have on a regular basis struggled to put teams to the sword at home, so as long as the boys can keep it tight at the back, a draw is possible.
I will include the following headlines in my application for the post sub-editor at the The Sun:
‘Klopp that!’
‘It’s a fair Klopp’
‘Rolls Reus performance as Gunners give Dortmund a Klopp round the ear’
‘Fit and Kopp-er persons’
‘Arsenal come a Klopp-er’
‘Gunners Snap, Crackle and Klopp as Dortmund milk it’
If anyone wants me I’ll be on my way home in that taxi.
…post OF sub-editor…
Pangloss heh here’s your coat back – seeing the label is Burberry should have known it was yours 😉
Should the gods conspire against us, the headline will no doubt be “Arsenal Klopped Out”. Picks up the Burberry again on my way out as I’ve taken a fancy to it.
David, Dortmund are indeed a “superior” side but so are we a “superior” side. These are 2 top level teams and the result can go any way. Dortmund may have pressed us better than any other team at the Ems but you cannot say the result was a fair reflection of the play overall. These games are won by small margins – with the right focus we are quite capable of getting a positive result tonight.
59 Porco you seem well qualified for post of sub-editor but seems you will need a sub sub- editor to assist you 😉
BtM
Believe it or not, I wasn’t being pessimistic.
I think, with even just a smidgen of luck, we can win the league this season BUT to expect us to compete and win the two competitions is just silly if we continue to add to or even just re-circulate the list of injured.
It has got to the stage, where moaning about our bad luck on the injury front has got boring.
I’m in Esso’s camp – why, fucking why?
And as for Suarez, I would rather go on a pub crawl in Lochgelly than see him anywhere near our dressing room 😉
Uplympian, I concur with regards to your point referring to both sides being of a high level. Dortmund are the favourites but there is no reason why we can’t get a result! As I have had time today, it is refreshing to come across many rational previews of the match this evening from Arsenal fan sites. As an aside, I do not share the excellent writer, Paddy Barclay, view that Arsenal have to prioritise between tonight and the visit to OT on Sunday – three days between both should be enough time to ensure the strongest available side can be picked for both titanic contests.
Just watched the highlights again of Chelsea’s defeat against Newcastle. Highly satisfying.
Can’t see anything particularly wrong with a pub crawl in Lochgelly. I’m sensing a curve is in there somewhere but is that in Scotland?
David…..one game at a time is my mantra. Pick the best team available for tonight’s game and likewise assess afresh for the manure game closer to to Sunday.
David,
Good to see you back. Would you care to share your views on the weekend’s performance?
Pretty please?
Liverpoo are not going to sell their prized racist, so forget it. Even if he wanted out, to go bite in a different shirt, why would the mickeys, who consider themselves genuine title contenders and us their rivals, want to strengthen us?
If he goes, he’ll be off to Madrid.
How much do you Gents and Ladies reckon would be Aguero’s worth in the transfer market?
40 mill, easy.
Also as much as I would love to have Aguero in our ranks, I do not think Shitty would depart with him. Cheeky bid for Dzeko though…
*part, not depart heh
Uply – cheers, although I fear my application may end in failure….just like the guy who entered the pun competition.
His local newspaper ran an ad informing its readers of a pun competition. ‘Send in your best puns, and the winner will be published next week!’ it trumpeted.
Determined to win, he sat down and worked on puns through the night and by morning, he had a list stretching to over a hundred. Then he sent them all to the newspaper, confident that one of them would surely win him the competition, but no pun in ten did.
…and the best news is, I’m here all week!
Heh Porco….now we now why the Music Hall died 😉
PS….if there was ever such a competition in real life, they might as well hand over the prize to Trev – he is the punmeister champion of champions 🙂
Wikipedia suggests, somewhat openly, that Lochgelly is not the garden spot of Fife. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lochgelly
Do I sense a business opportunity involving the construction of a high-end whisky distillery? Note that is not whiskey. I learned my lesson last time.
On another but no less serious issue, are all the best headlines already in the drinks, and will ‘holic be able to come up with a puntastic headline to top them after the game?
Greetings every single Holic in here and out there.
A good game it’s definitely going to be tonight and in as much as I want to be cautious with this one as it’s obvious, I think it going to be 1 – 2 to the good Red guys.
I’m having a feeling that Santi is going to produce another scintillating shift and be rewarded accordingly.
It’s payback time.
COYRs!!
Once again the match is not being broadcasted here %$#%^, so I’ll have to put it on stream on the labtop, can’t imagine I’ll get to see too much of it though as quiet busy here tonight, so you guys will have to cheer for me too.
Bt8,
Don’t be fooled. Lochgelly is one of West Fife’s garden spots, nestling as it does between the pyramids up in Kelty and the jungles of Lochore. Delightful place for a pub crawl. Include me out though.
H2H. The game is not on here either. Would somebody please do something about this international TV conspiracy? Thank you.
From the BBC website:
Well, as we all know, there’s no point telling people not to back a team unless there is some risk that they might. Is the BBC beginning to revile from their position that Arsenal aren’t genuine title contenders? Was it impossible to get a deeper-thinking Manyoo player to express an opinion? Does anybody care?
Watch this space.
Enjoy this evening gents. That uncomfortable feeling in the stomach is what we’ve been missing for the past couple of seasons.
Up the Arsenal.
COYG
Time for Per Mer’s header.
Never bender or you’ll go to kehl. Marco my words.
BtM. Virtual pub crawl then?
http://www.yell.com/s/pubs-lochgelly.html
The Minto Lounge could be the base camp to prepare an assault on the pyramids and jungles, I should say.
BtM 78. Quite right, pub crawls are no go. The time spent travelling between pubs equates less time to actually sup the nectar.
Pangloss 80. Wayne Kerr Rooney – the mans a genius. Who’d a thought that the table in march would be more appropriate to guess the league champions than the one in November. Doh!
David, Patrick Barclay is a wanker. Just thought I’d say that. He’s never got over being #2 David Lacey for god knows how many years.
+to
Cheers for the preview ‘H. Certainly wouldn’t bet against 1-0 to the Arsenal swelling the ‘Holic pound coffers further. Fancy us to get a result, (and I would include a draw in that), so I’ll stick my beak out and go 2-1 to the Gunners.
What Esso and everybody else has said about Ashley Young. Man is a disgrace.
As regards our injuries I think it would be very difficult to lay them at the door of the medical staff. One cannot think that they are anything but top professionals working with the best state of the art facilities. Personally I would put a lot of our injuries down to the fact that we play a technical brand of football that will always invite clumsy or worse challenges in the rough and tumble of the Premier League. Just a guess though.
Right, off to the Juicer of Choice. Good luck everybody. Come on the Arsenal!!!
3-2 to the good guys this evening. In truth, I’d trade this result in a heartbeat if it meant beating the scum on Sunday.
Re: Ashley Young, are we all still supposed to be pretending that successive Utd managers have “hard a word” about his diving? Or are we allowed to discuss the truth; that despite being English and playing for the club who represent all that is good about football, he goes down quicker than a fat man on ice skates? And that his club clearly have no problem with him doing so?
Really looking forward to tonight it’s what big European games should always be about -Two Big clubs going at it, Got a bit of a soft spot for Dortmund, see them as us of Germany – Classy outfit steep in History and always fighting against Bayern, For that see us and United and the favours they get from the league and Refs etc! All that said hope we smash them tonight 🙂
Bring it on,Up The Arse !
@78 😀
8ball,
If we beat Dortmund to top the group tonight my headline would be –
“Germans Pants, er, Division is ours”.
😉
Trev.
From the last set of drinks thanks for the interesting comment, I found it rather unusual and re watched some of the game to make sure it wasnt a figment of my imagination, its amazing to see how they done it and must have taken hours of film studying and practice, Each player pretty much knew where to be in what they saw as the danger area and interchanged to close down that space. The amount of times they were in the correct position to intercept a pass without having to make a tackle was quite mind blowing,
Other sides may well have set up to do the same thing in previous games against us, but it wasnt so noticable to me or they just didnt carry it out as well, Interesting to see if they do the same tonight. I doubt it as they are at home.
Any way come on you Redddddddddddddddddddddds
Trev. Isn’t the Erdivision in Holland? 🙂
I am out of words to describe how confident I am for tonight. Strange feeling, don’t ask me why.
It looks like AW has selected our strongest team. All we need is the right tactics and application. Come on Arsenal.
Young is just the latest in a well established line of divers and cheats including Rooney, Ronaldo and Young himself, not to mention the utterly objectionable Van Nistelrooy.
Just think back to Sir Bob’s somewhat suspicious fall against Portsmouth (?) after which the press demanded he be deported – naturally after he had been hung, drawn and quartered.
And the weeks long furore over Eduardo – and he didn’t even dive !
@96,
– van Nistelrooy
+ van Horseface c*nt
Thanks Esso. 😉
May have stumbled onto a good stream on firstrowsports.eu
If it keeps on working all I have to do is turn off the obnoxious German commentary.

COYRs
We might not do it but it’s worth watching because we just might. 🙂
Make with the positive vibes, Delia.
Nice goal bath.
Come on you Rip Roaring. 😉
Another good stream at http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/index.html
Choose VIP Box.
Gary Neville: “We all have our teams, but if there’s another team you want to see do well, it has to be Arsenal because of the way they play football.”
Also: “At Man Utd, we never questioned their mental strength but we always thought we could get the better of them physically.” (Or something like that.)
I see it’s pissing down in Dortmund.
Sorry I asked the Aguero question earlier and didn’t reply to any respondents, life got in the way. I will back-drink later. Have a good one all.
Oh Delia, will you be with us tonite? Truly hope so!!!
Hi everybody! Listening in. Now be good sports and let us know what is happening! C’mon Arsenal!
Dortmund are a commentators nightmare ….
Evening all..just about made it home from work..come on you REDS!
Game will be rebroadcasted on Fox Deportes (stateside holics) at 1700 est.
That was too close!
Come on Arsenal!
Gosh, I can hear our fans! Awesome 🙂

First corner for AFC!
cheers, atg. got one.
Unbelievable happened and czech tv is airing the match, so watching it on their net stream…first Arsenal game with czech commentary in a looooong time.
come on you gunners! give klopp something to chew on!
Marseille one up!
One touch control looking good so far. Come on boys.
nice work down the left by santi, ozil and gibbs.
Excellent shape so far – we’re nice and deep, launching breaks forward.
whew..close!
scruz, 8ball,N7, Eandy keep the comments coming, plz!
great control by Giroud now..but touched the ball by hand unfortunately.
and some good spell on the ball by us now.
Great defending by Kos
definitely, eandy. we can’t quite get in, but i do like the way we’re playing it from the back.
Dortmund corner resulted into goalkick
great covering block by koz? came streaming in, checked his run, and got the block. dortmund corner leads to goal kick.
hi, abb, n7, eandy.
22 minutes here, just about.
y’all?
never a yellow for Arteta
Ouch. Booking for Arteta
Shirt pull. Definite card
yellow card to Arteta 🙁
Didn’t look a card on first viewing, mind
so i am about a minute behind you, n7.
Reus down. Been Kozzered. Stay down son.
hey scruz 🙂
No worries scruz – I’m actually clairvoyant 😉
gah Aaron..careful
Hey @ 140!
They are making half chances. We need to be careful.
good interception and pass by arteta, almost through to ozil by giroud.
26 min. played, no goal yet
Very close offside
not an off side!
never offside, either of them.
A lot of their attacks are coming down our left flank. I’d be tempted to switch Santi and Tommy R for a spell.
nice theater by arteta.
Book him!
How on earth is that not a booking for Reus?!
That should be a booking!
That should be yellow for a foul on Rosicky.
Good driving run by TR
Exactly the same thing Arteta was booked for. Poor refereeing – tommy was away and he hauled him down.
now shouldn’t that be a yellow card on the guy who fouled tr7? if it was on arteta?
Yellow card him REF!
Yellow card ffs
Balls, Napoli now 2-1 up.
Great defending BFG.
I love you PER!
Careful lads.
per, what a leg.
Been a good half hour. Very cagey game.
We’ve quietened the crowd. Sagna having a big game.
Arteta needs to watch it
Arteta needs to calm the fuck down
not a foul.
Captain, on a booking, away. Shouldn’t be ranting like that – doesn’t help concentration if players feel hard done by.
Arteta rightly aggrieved. He got all ball.
pheeeeew ..close as hell
Massive let off. Should be one down.
Get to half time now.
Too bloody close!
wake up boys, btw Lewandowski dives at every given opportunity.
Man that was close…Arteta walking a tightrope
oh dear, sounds too close for comfort. arteta, please remain calm and carry on!
We’ve switched off last few mins.
dortmund must be worried if they’re resorting to that kind of stuff.
We’ll get one before half time.. they’re getting tired! 🙂
lewandowski yellow.
Get mighty nervous hearing their fans go all crazy.
Gibbo playing a big game today
looking like half-time…
I expect us to turn it up a notch in the 2nd half.
Apart from few scares we are doing well to soak their pressure up, they were always going to be on top in this game…lets hit them on the break in second half.
job half done
suck yer oranges
now get out, score a goal and finish the job
COYRs
0-0 at the half. We played well but the referee is letting them get away with much more physical play than he is allowing us. Arteta does need to be careful in the second half, and we need to be careful with the ball so as not to give them counterattacking chances. They had two decent chances and missed both of them just to the outside of SZCZ’s right post. Late punt on 0-1, anyone?
I’m certain we will improve in the second half, our midfield has not seen as much of the ball as they should have for what we have seen against Liverpool!
gah..czech pundits mistaking Giroud with Ozil in half time highlights…..>,<
Although TRs brother in studio, interesting stuff about their youth coach and how they were both forced to learn quick one twos.
Buttocks firmly clenched!
WE could win this one!
Come ON!!!!!!
Nothing massively wrong in what we are doing, just need to up our own tempo and slow theirs down…..simples 🙂
Second half about to start!
Come on you almighty REDS!
We love you Arsenal We Do…!!!
We love you Arsenal We Do…!!!
We love you Arsenal We Do…!!!
Ohh…….Arsenal W LOVE YOU!!!
AR

ooooooooooh to be a gooooner…
Come on ref!
how is that a foul?:O
What foul?
God save by Woj!
Way too easy….tighten up
Evening all 🙂
Well, I’m sure God is on our side 😉
offside …come one lads ..wake up ..way too easy for BVB now
Arsenal being hosed by CL referrees?
Yep, as usual. Carry on…
Pheew, offside
Mert cant believe it Horrendous refereeing
fuck you Lewa fuck you you diving cunt
Ramsey needs to get deeper. He’s too advanced and Arteta is being overrun.
Homer ref, but the players need to deal with it.
dortmund came out stronger from the half. hopefully that’ll mean they tire more quickly, around minute 75. then we can sneak a couple of goals in.
Come on lads!
not clicking for us so far in second half
totally homer ref (no offense, homer). bvb getting away with a lot, and we’re forced to play through it.
This is hard too watch…
Jesus arteta…dancing at the edge right now…half a four n he’s off
We’re playing against an extra man again – ref giving them everything – us very little.
ouch had to hurt
almost in, schmeltzer had better come off with such a violent head injury. 🙂 kick ’em where it hurts.
none taken, holics. none taken!
serge on for rozza?
AAAAROOOOON!
Get in there!

Raaaaaaaaaaammmmbbbbbboooooooooo
OH YESSS. 😆
Aaron Ramsay?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YESSSSS! beautiful work by rozza, if a little lucky, and a great chip by bac to giroud, who worked hard to get it to aaron. just wonderful.
now, tighten up, lads.
FUCK YES
man, if this was twitter, i’d give you all favs 🙂
End to end stuff!
OOOOOH almost second for Aaron!
Keep it tight at the back boys
Ohhhh, almost a brace!
Goalie got lucky no clue
could score on two more occassions now!
Rambo!!! This is a great game now
our tails are definitely up. good call by the ref not to give diver the penno.
heh my heart skipped a beat now
come on boys, bring it on home!
oooh Mert almost!
ooooh, per, close.
Unlucky BFG!
Per wants one!
Come on Per, the third will get in
Marseille have equalised!
argh, stream keeps dying.
bender out, hoffmann in. monreal for cazorla. well played santi.
Nacho on, Santi off
All gone tactical now..!
@ 260 right you are!
kozzer hurt.
ooouch Kos..hopefully will be okay.
Jesus KOS!
tv5 on the bench?
ok, defend, boys, down a man for a bit.
jeez, their fans are driving me crazy.
koz back on. beast.
Glad KOS is ok!
Koz is a tough bugger! He’ll survive.. and thrive!
Kos back on. Almost like a new signing.
Why the fuck are they whistling! Tossers!
love it, defending from the front.
Finally a good decision from the REF!
Lewa is diving cunt ..seriously ..great player but dives as hell, that was great tackle by Rosicky
Lewandaly having a great night
Rosicky with the BOOM
schieber on for reus.
Oh noooo !
Bendy time. 🙁
nik had better play his fucking heart out for five minutes, or i’ll find him in london and beat him.
I see a Dortmund fan leaving.. that’s it.. they’re giving up! 🙂
corner to them. gibbs has played a good game, from what i’ve seen.
Come on lads, hold on to it
What a performance this has been
Anyone else starting to believe?!
nik on for ollie g.

Famous win. Great team.
Choke on it Dortmund
Never in doubt

FanFuckingTastic….what a result…what a performance

So proud.
We win the next one we are in
Arsenal football club.
We go to Germany and we kick arse!

Yeeeeeeeaaaahhhhhh!!!!!
HAVE WE PLAYED ANYONE YET ?????
Get in.
Crying. Lump in throat feeling. It’s Highbury all over again.
Fucking massive victory
Love this team.
Our fans are still singin! Great 🙂
Is there seriously anyone out there who still wants Arsene Wenger out ?
They’re not the Manchester clubs or Chelsea so until we beat all of them by 3 goals, no, we still haven’t played anyone.
Besides, it was only a 1-0: the wrong kind of scoreline, Wenger Ahhht!
and we’re arrrsenal, arrrsenal fc., we’re by far the greatest team the world has ever seeen…and we’re arrrsenal, arrrsenal fc., we’re by far the greatest team the world has ever seeen…and we’re arrrsenal, arrrsenal fc., we’re by far the greatest team the world has ever seeen…and we’re arrrsenal, arrrsenal fc., we’re by far the greatest team the world has ever seeen…
just saw on espn bootroom saying dortmund outplayed us and should have gotten a penalty when lewandowski went down. sore fucking losers. ha haaaa!
😀
First English team to win in Marseille, Milan, Dortmund …….
Doesn’t mean anything until we have played the big teams from Manchester 🙂
Take a bow boys Take a bow Fuck my old boots now that’s what you call a team performance – One of the hardest places to go in Europe and they’ve pulled it out the bag Happy Days ! Big Big props to the back for absolutely magnificent and as for the Big Fucking German in red that was one performance out of the Adams art of defending and marshalling a back four !!
Rip Roaring Reds…
That was so fucking special…can’t believe it yet
Porco knows
Wenger has lost the plot completely
That is a well-tuned and efficient orchestra playing a very clever Webern chamber piece against a blustery Scorpions screaming session, isn’t that so Herr Klopp? 🙂
Moment of the match? Immediately after the goal Giroud-Ramsey combining again and Giroud’s brilliant cross controlled superbly and almost converted to what would have been a brilliant goal by Rambo. Dortmund back-line knew that for the remaining twenty odd minutes if they throw caution to the wind they will be punished.
Great game plan executed perfectly. Deserved victory.
Let no one tell you otherwise!
Heh, most amusing fact is that Dortmund maybe should have a penalty since Per pulled Lewa down in our box at the end of the game ..but thats what you get for constant diving Robert..
Trev @ 335: Also Madrid, no?
So this was our plan for the first encounter with them: allow them the initiative and tear them on the break. Ah, If it wasn’t for that defensive mistake.
Today could have easily been 0-2. Congrats on the ‘holic pound.
Great victory!
Dortmond weren’t really trying, they were as good as through to the next round………..
What!?
Oh.
😉
Our away form is ridiculous
Per mertesacker – world class tonight
First time I ever got twenties on a certainty 😉
Lovely jubbly 😀
Indeed Faustus, how remiss of me. 😉
🙂 Holic
I was drinking Spitfire – never in any doubt.
TF @ 343: Yes, same game plan against Barca for the famous 2-1 win at home. But the first sixty minutes was not only about sitting back but very cleverly move the game into areas from which we can easily spring counter attacks and the Dortmund defense recognized the danger and they always held back a little. That was instrumental to keep the midfield battle more or less on an even keel.
TR7 my man of the match, though everyone played superbly, Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbo-Sagna being exceptional … he out-Borussiaed Borussia. The goal came from his pressing as well.
That was pretty damn impressive. ‘Holic pound at 20/1!
None too shabby a performance on the field, either. This is a side brimming with skill and steel. If it can stay fit, it will add silverware.
Defence magnificent.
Aaron Ramsey, his usual “mediocre” self.
When the second half started I thought we would concede and it was just a matter of time!
What a response from the lads!
Unbelievable game!
Never mind winning 1-0, did we run as far as them. ? 😉
Even Michael Bollocks likes us now ! 😉
Fellas.
We can actually make sure Dortmund are eliminated.
Beat Marseilles and if Dortmund fail to beat Napoli, they’re out!!!!!
One of the contenders for the cup.
Heh, Trev 😉
I think Lewandowski could give Ashley Young a run for his money.
Still can’t believe this shit, i luv these boys. Whoaaaaaaaaa unbelievable
Positively cheesing folks.
Flat track bullies that we are……
Oh, and I expect to see some of the largesse from the Holic pound at Southampton 😉
Snir @ 357: Though this result today actually would play in Rafa’s hands as his teams tend to be very shrewd against attack minded oppositions that must get a result, but the Napoli back line is a little too static for the likes of Reus and the Armenian bloke who I thought was excellent for Dortmund today.
Unnecessary defeat thinks Mr. Klopp. Will bring even more pepper into this group.
A 1-0 win in Dortmund – how germain. 😉
Holic well done to the Holic pound! You must minted now 🙂
Dkg @359 – he couldn’t – they’d both fall over. 😉
Heavy metal failed to stop Arsene’s symphony!
Come on you BEAUTY!
Off to toast the boys with Highland Park.
Slainte Gooners.
No big mistakes and patience was key thinks our manager! And we know that he knows 🙂
Trev@366 Heh
Well, they didn’t “run like dogs”, more like the superb athletes they are. They did defend very well.
Another tactical victory for Mr W.
Cheers baff – mine’s a Jura Superstition.
What a great time to be a GÖÖÖÖÖner.
Roll on Manure.
Slainte dk
Just saw in the replay what big a safe Woj made.
From the grauniad report:
“Per Mertesacker, saluted in song as the largest of Germans …”
LOL 😀
Well done to the travelling supporters.
Look forward to reading accounts here.
I’m getting too old for this sort of excitement, nerves in shreds, scarves in knots. Great effort from all the boys.
Better go and make myself a nice cup of horlicks!
Roll on OT.
Never in doubt! 😀
“And it’s Arrrrrseeenaallll, Arrrseenall FC, we’re by the far, the greatest team the world has ever seen!”
I feckin’ love this club!!!! COYBG!
BtM may have gone. Ollie certainly did.
Klopp on Arsenal: “Sometimes it seemed as if they were defending with four legs”
can’t find the words to describe that performance, I feel like my words won’t do the boys justice.
Delia
No skin on my finger and no nails either, management says I should be sitting on the ceiling during the game perhaps I would find comfort there 🙂
We still should have had a penalty on KOS and he will be sore tomorrow! He was KO’d nearly!
Gonna crack out the vintage malt before tonight’s slumber! Lovely jubbly! 😎
Arteta = Immense!
All were immense in truth – work rate, commitment, belief
No sign of a handbrake tonight
Another Highland Park in the pipeline.
The best team in England is better than the second best team in Germany.
Robbie Savage, Mark Lawrenson, Piers Morgan, the Aaron Ramsey-haters, all Man Utd fans, any and all fucking pundits on MOTD, that tosser Alan Green, Le Grove, the boring ill-informed geezer in the boozer, the lazy journalists, Tottenham wannabes, AVB and his spiral-of-doom bollocks. You boys took a hell-of-a-beating…
Eat my goal you fucking tools…
A polite and humble request to all of those contributors who dropped in after the League Cup defeat and pontificated about everything from the current squad’s lack of quality to Arsene’s tactical ineptness, can you please drop by and recognize that there is more to the world than meet your eyes?
If Jose had pulled off a tactical victory like this people would be going apeshit over his genius.
It was such a pleasure to see Ozil and Giroud defending so cleverly and with so much poise when needed. Speaks volumes for Arsene’s ability to inspire …
Two truly magnificent performances in succession – another one on Sunday and then a break for most – only our French trio playing competitive games I think. No doubt Spain have arranged something in the Antarctic or Mid-Pacific, just to ensure maximum jet-lag.
Faustus knows
Why even when Depressed I never stopped supporting my team, because their commitment has never been in doubt and now we are starting to see the rewards.
Honest enough to admit I was wrong that I would not scream like a girl if we won 😉
Yeah but can they do it on a cold rainy night in, err…Dortmund?
🙂
Had a nice touch of 7/2 for an Arsenal win with Skybet 🙂
That was impressive. Grinding it out but with the added dash of flair. Perhaps got away with it at the end with the possible penalty, but Lewandowski got his just desserts from the first game elbow, so balls to him.
Clean sheet in Dortmund. Who’d have believed it…
Nice call Matt 😉
And eehm, ask the Doctor, he knows too 🙂
Heh Snowy
Doctor Faustus knows.
I would really like to hear what the guys who criticized Arsene with such joy, have to say at this moment. Did any of them recognized what this man actually means for Arsenal?
Or they are going to wait till the next defeat to say “He has lost it, I told you”.
Come on fellas, bring it on, or should I do what I haven’t did for years and visit Le Grove to find out your opinion?
‘holic knows! Wonderful effort and Ches scarcely had a save to make. They got a win against the run of play at our place and we reversed it here but we are dining at the top table in Europe and not looking out of place,
And I will have no criticism of that referee. He was scrupulously fair and in that atmosphere he didn’t buckle at all .A lot of weaker refs would have sent off Arteta.
Invidious to pick out individuals tonight but our defence was absolutely superb as was TR7. I would like to see Ozil looking more pivotal more often but its still early days. Giroud worked incredibly hard and aaron ramsey is a gem. Wenger is being paid back richly for having faith in him when so few did. I always liked him but thought his injury had taken something away from him permanently. How wrong I was! It takes a while to get over being maimed by a thug.
COYG!!!Didn’t they make us proud?
Özilike pass into the box…
still buzzing…happy as a clam! way to do it, lads.
So, is Dortmund no longer a difficult test?
Before I go on, I am looking for a ticket for a friend for Southampton. Ticket Exchange comes up blank (not a single ticket available it seems) so if anyone hears of one I am on the lookout.
First off, hats off to Dortmund. They are a classy team built on sound foundations. Their pressing game is simply incredible.
Having said that, what a fucking wonderful win!
I really can’t think of anything more sensible than that to say. Aaron Ramsey, you are bee’s knees.
Oh, look – I scored!
pop?
Bang!
oops
1-0 wins in Europe. George Graham would be proud!
Lars, that was a beauty.
faustus definitely knows. and lurky. hopefully this isn’t a selfie, ether 🙂
😛 just beautiful 🙂 http://arsenalist.com/f/borussia-dortmund-vs-arsenal/video-ramsey-goal.html
Well in Lars
Just got in after evening out and away from match reports. As I switched the car off 5Live was “going over to an interview with Arsène Wenger whose Arsenal team won 1-0 away tonight”. Pangloss: Yes! Yes! Fucking YES!!
I wasn’t expecting a win for us tonight, I thought it was possible, but I was pretty relaxed and very sure that we wouldn’t be humiliated, and after the past few years that was sooooo nice.
Now, on to Old Toilet. I am nervous about that one because I really, really want it. Come On You Reds.
A couple of heh’s to 8ball above for some telling contributions. Drinks all round.
UTA
also pretty drunk by now:) enjoy the afterglow fellow holics, great victory, great performance and what a boost for whole team before the trip to Old Toilet.. night! 🙂
Bee’s knees AND dog’s bollox. mate.
Just to say, these guys are the right stuff, no doubt. So much more gumption and fight than the likes of Fab, Nas, Song, etc, etc and all the others who made the last 8 years so difficult. And on that note, really, just sit back, drink it in, enjoy, we’ve all earnt it ! Absolutely thrilling bunch of players and I’m a 1971/Charlie George/Double vintage Gooner. Cheers to all. You’re all great reading and it’s great to feel the passion of real fans.
scgooner knows too
I wonder what the odds would have been on Aaron Ramsey scoring with a header.
Our goal knocked the stuffing out of them for a good ten minutes before they got their second wind. I think their game plan was to get a goal then hound us out of it. When we turned the tables on them, they looked a bit lost and must have known the best they were going to get was a draw. Must have demoralised them. The adrenaline begins to leak in situations like that.
Can’t quite believe that for the next few games, it’s impossible for us to play a team that’s above us, which of course casts doubt on our credentials according to some morons.
And how much sweeter is this than riding piggy back on some sugar daddy.
Chavs and Poznan impersonators please note. 😉
Bath,
I’ve decided to baptise the night appropriately with some Dalmore!
Let no one be in any doubt, but I believe that was one of our all time great results.
We were street wise, tactical, shrewd and efficient in our display tonight. Sure, we rode our luck at times – but thats what cup competitions are all about.
I was enormously impressed by both Kos and PM, who imo, are the real reason our flags fly so highly this season. Dare I say it, but we have Cajones, and are a vastly improved side defensively, which Mr Bould needs to “take a bow son”.
We were in big trouble down our left side in the first half, as Caz continuously left Gibbs exposed. When Monreal came on, all that changed.
I also felt that Arteta and Rambo were their usual magnificent selves and Rosicky’s input was impressive too.
A win on Sunday, could possibly crown one of the most memorable weeks of our lives..!
Marvellous video!
Thanks, Eandy. Loving myself some smash and grab. Now it’s time to focus on thrashing Shrek and the Dutch Skunk. 1-4, anyone?
Well done, Reds…win the next match.
BMBD
Fine choice Joe. It’s a lovely dram.
If you are ever in the north of Scotland, book a tour…it’s a very classy distillery.
Good that it’s not ’til Sunday, Lonestar.
Some years ago, the filthy Mancs used to shit ’emselves when they played us. And it was epic, even if we rarely turned ’em over up there.
Last season at the Old Toilet I was shuffling out of the little OT station to the game I ended up feeling more deflated than the previous season’s 8-2 behind a couple of kids who were probably not born yet at the time Old Booze Nose started his Fergie Reich, and heard one of them say “yeah but they’re shit now it’ll be easy”
I hope they’re both kacking their nylon ‘red Devil’ onesies as I type.
😉
Baff knows that SC knows.
BMBD
“We are top of 2 leagues,
We are top of 2 leagues”
Joe – join the whisky club!
True about Cazorla defensively but it’s difficult to expect that of him – he’s not that sort of player and we needed him in the middle and up front. He and Özil are the two who can create the sort of chance that was needed today. It was either that or play Monreal in midfield from the start.
And true – a win would crown one of the most memorable weeks, but only in my football life.
Good night ladys and gents. Take care and keep on enjoying the sweetness of beeing top of the league and the group of death 🙂
The wisdom of Shrek:
“We’re obviously capable of beating Arsenal, we’ve done it many times in the past.”
Indeed, Trev. Indeed.
Sunday can’t get here soon enough. Due to work and family committments, I think I will sleep about 12 hours between now and first kick, but I will be watching at some pub somewhere, just so I can sing my heart out and remind that Dutch Cur that:
Should have stayed with us.
Should have stayed with us.
Now you’re a wanker.
Should have stayed with us.
BMBD
Let him talk, bath. It never does the LWCs any good.
Last time I was in Scotland Bath, I went from the icy peaks of Ben Nevis to the sunburnt slopes of St Andrews to almost been shipped home in a box after sampling the local distillerieS……all within the space of a week.
Honestly, the best holiday I ever had..!
Joe
Very good call re Bouldy. he has really worked on the defensive unit. and all those idiots who variously slagged off Per and Koscielny should plead for forgiveness. they are terrific defenders.
And if they should have had a penalty what about the goalie flattening Kos?
Well I’ll be buggered. What a result. I will be perfectly honest and say that I would not have been unhappy with a point. To come away with all 3 is very impressive. Very impressive indeed. We rode a bit of a storm fantastically well, scored against the run of play and then did not give them a look in after that. Quite frankly I thought we made them look clueless after we had scored.
Some monster performances all over the park. I am not going to single out individuals but as a team I thought we showed a maturity that has been lacking in previous seasons. Very impressed indeed. The mancs will be absolutely shitting their pants.
More ale please landlord.
Proud of you all tonight. Thank you.
This place is buzzing again 😉

Wenger out.
Arsene Wenger doesn’t do tactics.
These hedroes in a position to used to farm lvl5

They need not be very serious like presidential election systems.
