So the pre-season friendlies are under way. It’s good to see some football again after a long summer of invention and counter invention in the popular press.
Perhaps ‘see’ was not the right word to use. Unable to make it to Barnet I opted to try and follow the action on ATVO. Half an hour of buffering and I probably saw no more than ten minutes of action. Sort it out please Arsenal.
I therefore have seen the twelve minute highlights package which hardly qualifies me to pass comment on the performance as a whole. The inclusion of Gilbert at right back was interesting, as was the ninety minutes of action that kept Flamini alone on the pitch for the whole game.
If the rumours are to be believed we may be celebrating a big signing this week. I will wait for the confirmation, but the capture of an Argentine striker would suggest that Arsenal’s negotiators are doing just fine, thank you very much.

Sorry to hear you had problems with ATVO – I must have been one of the lucky ones as I had a great picture. They do tell you to sign on early to avoid disappointment – might that have been the reason?
Could be a possibility Pass. I’ll log on as soon as I get home on Thursday so that will be a couple of hours before kick-off. If it happens again they will be getting an email!
i tried to watch the barnet game on my mac and gave up soon after, i watched the 1st game in austria on a mates windows laptop connected to my lcd screen and was very impressed by the quality, it was better than some of the spuds’ uefa cup away games on channel five 😉
