Groundhog Day – Real Target Gunner

Well there’s a surprise, Real Madrid covet Cesc Fabregas and are set to ‘test Arsenal’s resolve’ to keep him.
I’ll let you into a little secret senors. Barcelona want him too, and Milan, and Juve, and Chelsea, and, and, and. I could go on.
When Cesc and his agent have confirmed that he is staying put, when Arsene Wenger has just made him vice-captain, what gives you the idea that we might suddenly turn round and let you waltz off with one of the hottest properties on the planet?
Experience tells us this will now happen in every close season until Cesc decides to return home to Barca. Until then let’s just be prepared for it, and ignore it.
I’m more interested in the other transfer activity that could happen this week. Bacary Sagna is now hotly tipped to bolster the defense in the coming days, and with one eye on the African Cup of Nations that would make a lot of sense.
Will we get the winger we all agree is a priority before the first friendly at Barnet on Saturday? Liverpool’s reported interest in Ryan Babel, himself allegedly keen to come to Arsenal at some stage, may prompt some activity. That may be dependent on striking a deal with shh, you know who, for Reyes.
Or is the plan to move Robin Van Persie into the wide role he has in the Dutch national team and pairing Eduardo with Adebayor up front? I wonder.

if rvp isn’t going to start upfront then i would suggest that we are still a bit shy upfront. Eduardo looks like getting his fair share of goals even in his first year but ade looks like he’s taking the long road to 20 a season.
Eduardo could stand on the flanks when needed, plus RVP hasn’t been doing that bad on the RW for the Dutch NT either also scored a cracker vs Blackburn from the RW,so i wont rule that out.
