Hleb, Hopefully Fit To Unlock Chelsea
Dec 14th, 2007 by 'holic
What could be better? Sunday morning it will be up in time to hit the train around ten in the morning. That should get me to the pub by twelve just in time for a couple of muscle relaxants and maybe, just maybe, we’ll cast an eye over the televised contest from the north-west.
The timing of the day is such that at the final whistle of that game we can amble down to the Grove to take up our seats for the visit of Chelsea. Feelings are mixed when we play the Lotto winners these days. They have never provoked the same hostility as the visitors to the Grove next weekend. That was until ‘Colegate’ left a bitter taste in the mouth (sorry, couldn’t resist!).
Cole may even shake off his notorious yellow streak to take on Emmanuel Eboue in what could be the afternoons noisiest and most fascinating contest. I imagine Bacary Sagna will also be relishing the confrontations down Arsenal’s right flank.
Although I will happily join in with the greetings for our former left-back we have to hope that events surrounding his first appearance at the Grove do not detract from what should be a tremendous game.
Chelsea have recovered from a less than convincing start and the surprise replacement of Jose Mourinho. Under Avram Grant some commentators have suggested an improvement in the style of play at the Bridge, although a couple of blue-blooded friends have confided in me it is still the same, often direct, approach with the early season problems ironed-out.
The injuries to Cesc Fabregas, Matthieu Flamini, and Alexander Hleb, that proved so costly in our two visits to the north-east, appear to be easing and all three have a good chance of starting. Only Theo Walcott is definitely ruled out so far.
With Robin van Persie back in European action this week the biggest question for Arsene Wenger will be what formation to put out. I think most supporters would prefer a 4-4-2, but we have seen in contests such as this before that Le Boss is not averse to a bit of 4-5-1.
A 4-4-2 could see Hleb switched to the right side, thereby removing the fear that Eboue could get involved in costly shenanigans. 4-5-1 would put Hleb in the free role. Either way he will be a key figure for us. Let us hope he is back to full fitness.
The ‘holic pound will be placed on another 2-1 to the Arsenal. With all due respect to United and Liverpool I believe the two best sides in the country will be on view in North London on Sunday. This could well be one of those rare occasions where the game really does live up to its pre-match billing.
Anyway, have a great weekend everyone, and if you are there on Sunday feel free to say hello. I’ll be the one in the Arsenal shirt shouting at the ‘nearly swerved off the road’ money-grabber!

nup, sorry the best two sides are Arsenal and Man U. Chelsea are not even worthy of anything and they are certainly not our rivals – they are a fake team, they are nothing, but the laws say we still have to play them and the game is still worth 3 points. everything they have they have bought , nothing was earnt and so I cannot give them any respect.
If they behaved in a dignified manner maybe you could at least give them that credit but they are most disgusting set of players in the world by some distance. Lampard, Essien, Dogbreath, Terry, Cole, eurgh, please stop me someone before I vomit. I cant even watch them when they come on Match of the day every saturday, I have to switch over for 10 minutes while they are on. I hope we stuff them.
Arsenal secret weapon is Sagna’s braid. Lose it and Sagna lose all his superpowers.
Line-up:
Almunia
Sagna-Toure-Gallas-Clichy
Rosicky-Eduardo-Helb-Diaby
Bendtner-RVP
Sunday’s chants:
“Cashley Hole, Cuntley Cunt!”
Arsenal-2 Chelsea-1
If Senderos plays…we’ll lost it big.
you can wag your mouth. If you don’t talk, who will do it for you.Go ahead and say whatever you can.The main music is yet to come, and here you are killing yourself in the name of dancing.Blue is cool;it is mild.Don’t you yhink so?Be a blue, and be cool.
die hard Gooner here, gotta say the two best sides????doubt itwe one of the best and the ManUre being the other….Pool and the Chavs r catching up but at the moment us and the ManUre lead the pack as the table shows.
i think if we take the game to Chavski thru out we will win,we jus tend to ease up a bit…um hopin all the boys make it and jus a bench of Bendtner,Diaby and Eboue(hopefully)will give us firepower in the later stages.
Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea
We Gunner Gunn Em…..
Cheers Gooners.
