Part Two. And If You Know Your History…
Not too much for those at the other end of Seven Sisters Road to enjoy there, so to even things up a bit here is a photograph of the man who was in charge of Tottenham in 1999. It was an important year for them, as they landed their last trophy with a convincing 1-0 drubbing of mighty Leicester City in the Worthington Cup Final. It was also the last time they managed to beat an Arsenal team, albeit one reduced to nine players by two sendings-off. I would like to apologise to supporters of our neighbours for the grainy sepia image, but I am afraid technology was not so advanced the last time you were competitive.
For those poor young Spurs fans who were not around to witness history being made the managers name was George Graham. As well as the Beer Cup in 1999 he also won a League championship and FA Cup double, and the European Fairs Cup, as a player. Two further League championships, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and the European Cup Winners Cup followed as a manager.
Ask your Dad who ‘the man in the raincoat’ was with when he landed those nine trophies. Then ask your dad why the idiot with the beard said ‘you’re fired’, sparking eight years of under-achievement to add to the decade without a trophy prior to Graham’s arrival.
Just before he stops crying ask the old chap why Tottenham’s captain left the club just after Graham, and where Sulzeer Jeremiah Campbell went on to lift two Premier League champions medals, and three FA Cup winners medals.
Go on, ask him!

Part Two cracked me up too. Thing is, I have no Spurs fans around me – I have really decent friends and family.
