Monopoly – The Game Goes On

Get out of jail free. Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred pounds. Pardon me while I chuckle!
Yes, Tottenham should have done better, and we could not have grumbled if they had won. There, I’ve said it. Now let us consider, in the cold light of day, who will be happier with a draw in N5.
Tottenham came with the best side they could put out. Arsenal, as expected, were without Almunia, Eboue, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Flamini, Rosicky, Adebayor, and Eduardo and Sagna were only on the bench.
To be honest it showed for long periods, but should Arsene deem it necessary he could strengthen his line-up in the second-leg. Our friends from up the road will not have that luxury. I think we will probably go with a similar squad and play better. If you are a Tottenham fan you will surely be the first to admit that you can’t play much better than tonight!
The lads started brightly and Bendtner missed the opportunity to open the scoring, but Tottenham grew in stature as the half wore on and took the lead eight minutes before the break when Keane set up Jenas.
They started the second-half in similar vein, but astonishingly Arsenal got an equaliser just over ten minutes from the end when Walcott skillfully chested Lee’s attempted clearance beyond the reach of Cerny in the Tottenham goal!
I waited for the second goal to arrive so I could collect on the scorecast, but it didn’t happen. In all honesty that would have been too much to hope for tonight. Now we find ourselves in familiar territory. Last season the young Guns came back from two down to draw the first leg and win the second.
Would you discount the possibility of this squad going to the Lane and winning over ninety minutes? I certainly would not.
The Morning After – Injury News
Reports that four Gunners have been added to the injured list are surfacing this morning. Gary Lewin is well used to treating Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott, but the two central defenders could be a big problem for Wenger to solve.
‘Le Boss’ may be musing on the possibility of an unplanned January swoop to bolster his options for the coming weeks, or could he survive by using the likes of Justin Hoyte, Bacari Sagna, or Gilberto in the middle?

Justin Hoyte was good.
And yes, I really had to laugh at them not beating us, when 4-1 to them would have been fair.
Still, we started well until their goal, and it was the first time this season, I believe, that the lads had to come from behind in this competition.
I feel a bit more confident about the second leg now.
fucking injuries. but i’m gonna say gary lewin’s magic hands will bring 3 of them back lickety split.
Definitely confident about the 2nd leg – especially when i think about how hard they played to draw us yesterday… heehee
I say put Justin in there. I love Gilby, but right now, having him anywhere gives me the frights.
“…Walcott skillfully chested Lee’s attempted clearance…” Hah, nice choice of words. That’s one way to look at it, not sure many spuds would agree. But who gives a f*ck, great goal, I’m sure it will do alot of good for Theo.
Everyone still think Denilson is the next coming of Fabregas? Boy is that player Mr. Average or what. He would struggle for a first team place at Derby.
Theo deserved dat goal..may be not in dat fashion..but he was d oustanding player from Arsenal..&it was very easy 2have been outstanding on Wednesday nite..worried abt Robin..hope its just flu..cos Emanuel will be tired & slower & may need occasional rests..if v go to progress in da Champions League..&he has done alot of work in da 1st half of da season..centre back-ya mite need2shop..Cannavaro???kiddin..just a distant dream..2nd leg..v probly can play wit da same side..cos Spurs doubtful whethetr dey can re-produce dat performance..but 2be on da safe side..v need 2 fill our subs bench wit r 1st team stars..Just in case..dats where proper management comes in..& i hope Arsene will be at his sublime best..
Some say half da season is gone..but 4me-DA TYPICAL SEASON HAS JUST STARTED…CARLING CUP CLIMAX..FA CUP PLAYOFFS..CHAMPIONS LEAGUE KNOCK OUTS..Premier League title race..
Arsenal is at da forefront of all of dis..Lets cheer on da gunners !!!!!!!!!!
