Singing In The Rain? I Think So
Dec 2nd, 2011 by 'holic
Friday evening. Possibly my favourite of the week. The local chippy is next to the local pub, as luck would have it. I always persuade the management that something and chips is a really good idea. It does seem to take quite a while to get served though, so I place my order nice and early and then wait the requisite couple of hours cooking time next door. They serve a mean pint of Guinness too, which is a bonus.
Then it is home to devour the feast and turn my attention to the weekend opponents and the ‘holic pound. There is something about either the Guinness or the chips that frees any writers block that might otherwise creep in. Not that I really need to preview the game tonight because you heard my views on the Arseblog Arsecast today, didn’t you?
The hosts have had a miserable start to the season although from the highlights I have seen of them most weeks they have had some appalling luck. They have a half-decent goalkeeper in Al-Habsi, a grafting midfield, but probably are paying the penalty for being a little lightweight up front. Now I have said that di Santo will add to his winner at Sunderland last week, and Rodallega will score another thunderbolt against us.
If you follow the pie-munchers then you will have the fact that we have left the JJB/DW with just one point in the last two seasons to cheer you, plus that first away win of the season last week. However that relegation berth is occupied because only one home win has been secured so far as well, a 2-0 defeat of Queens Park Rangers back in August. Wigan need the gift-bearing Gunners that turned up at Blackburn to reappear. I have to say I doubt that.
The visitors line-up virtually picks itself. Szczesny is being afforded better protection these days and Koscielny, the BFG, Vermaelen, and Santos will surely get the opportunity to build on their recent form. Song and Arteta give a platform from which Ramsey can get forward and support van Persie, who will also hope to feast on a string of opportunities created by Walcott and Gervinho. I keep on about the work ethic of that side, and the fact that they are getting more comfortable with what they expect of each other. I think another three points are on the cards.
When it comes to the ‘holic pound though I am not as bullish as some of the forecasters I have seen. Those who tip us to score a hatful would do well to remember our friends and neighbours from up the road were happy to slip away from the same venue with a 2-1 win under their belts, and I rather fancy that scoreline to be repeated. 7/1 is not an overly generous price, but understandable. You might care to back it up with Robin to score first at threes with Paddy Power.
If you are going take some warm waterproofs. The forecast isn’t good. I rather fancy that will add to the entertainment though, with two teams desperate for points and giving everything sliding into the action. Have a great trip. I will join the stream hunters in the warm, with a pint, at about quarter to three. Come on you Gunners.
A Huge Week Beckons
Both Arsenal and I have a massive week to look forward to. Tuesday sees the opportunity for the squad players to make an impression in the final Champions League group stage fixture at Olympiacos.
On Wednesday it is time for the launch of the Arseblog Anthology and I hope to see a few of you there. I’ll bring the management back from town on Thursday before returning on Friday for the unveiling of the three statues, and no, I don’t know who they are, sorry. A rush back West for a Christmas Dinner function beckons thereafter.
Then on Saturday it is back on the train for 125th anniversary celebrations against Everton. For the second time in four days the pub will be packed for that one. It promises to be a massive day, and I am looking forward to sharing a special day with so many special Gooners. Before you say it, smartarse, no I was not at the first game, though somewhat worryingly if I do last another seventeen years on this mortal coil I will be exactly half as old as the Arsenal.
That’s scary.
Have a great one ‘holics.

The massed ranks of the home support. Remember the Casino well…
First after the barmen
Off to read the post…:)
Well in ‘Holic. π
No dropping concentration (although for some reason I don’t feel that worry with this team right now). Should be a good game. Hoping the boys will give Wigan a proper hiding.
My first away game this season, 5.10 comes early
You’re right zico, that oliva can’t fucking spell.
Bit of an early blog tonight, boss! Don’t think that 630 innings will be topped.
‘you heard my views on the Arseblog Arsecast today, didnβt you?’
Again, some of us have jobs π
So no, not yet.
How old?
You didn’t sound a day over 70 on the ‘cast…. π
I heard that! π
Good stuff, holic.
You indeed have a busy week ahead, pace yourself mate. π
I gotta feeling Theo will bo the scotesheet tomorrow, 2-0 to the Arsenal.
Before you say it, smartarse, no I was not at the first game
Who would dare?
if I do last another seventeen years on this mortal coil I will be exactly half as old as the Arsenal.
Gets calculator out.
Looks at result but doesn’t dare sharing π
“the sum of the total is larger than the sum of the parts” π
ps that Casino gaff was full of transvestites….
Almost all the blokes there had a wigan address. π
71 M. Oliver? That is what my sums made.
Oi!
Those Casino goers were mental. You have to look at Amphetamines as the root cause.
Let me check my sums, for the sake of a couple of grey hairs.
Your sums are fine. Shut the fuck up π
All them grey hairs?
You must be counting binary…… π
It was Arsenal’s age what gave it away, ‘holster. I can’t believe that is real, you write like a much younger man and drink like a 17 year old. π
TS @ 520 from previous drinks.
Great memories,lovely tale.
I am certain that Storey Dad,Holic Dad, and Sweeper Dad,would have been on the Terraces at Highbury during the 30’s watching the great players and teams that Herbie C and Co,put together during that golden period,5 Titles,31/33/34/35 and 38, Two FA cups,30 and 36,and 5 Charity Shields as well.!!
Our 3 Dads were truly blessed.
I’m sure they are upstairs now,in the Bar,reminiscing about those Golden days.
Sweepr Dad would of course be on the Orange Juice, while Holic and Storey Dad’s would be tucking in to the Guiness.!!
Cheeers
Misty Eyed Sweeper.
Heh H2H @ 13 – almost as funny as the dress sense.
The 70s (still) have a lot to answer for π
Believe it or not Clive, ‘holicdad was never a prolific drinker. Halves of bitter were his chosen tipple. ‘holicmum could knock back a few Gold Labels in a sitting, so I guess that is where I got my inspiration.
Apologies Holic,
It’s normally a given that drinking is passed from Father to Son,
In your case it was Mum.!!
Be that as it may,our Father’s did gave us the best Gift of all.
Oh yes indeed π
I’m just tired of meeja influenced Arsenal supporters…
Just exhausted.
Holic, You sound like your’re in your prime to me; no calculators for this gooner. This Arseblog chap intrigues me. What’s up with his preoccupation of Nasri’s bum!
Hah, I’ll ask him on Wednesday, nurse π
‘Holic, you sound like one of my lovely (heh) teachers at college π
Well in man!
Holic, email… π
Holic @ 28 Please do. Now as Ollie proclaimed @ 7 Some of us do work and sadly that includes me, god I hope my patients are not too frisky tonite. Bye all!
Only those old enough to remember the maximum wage should be allowed to do the ‘Holic age calculation. And they have the maturity not to do it (or have forgotten all the necessary mental arithmetic). For everyone else the answer is 29 and a bit.
Holic – I am quite bullish since in the last two seasons we never played our first 11.
In 09-10 we played – Fabianski, Sagna, Sol, Silvestre, Clichy, Eastmond, Rosicky, Nasri, Diaby, Theo, NB52.
It was also 4 days after that Derby with the Danny Rose.
Last season we played –
Fabianski, Eboue, Squillaci, Kos, Sagna, Diaby (replaced after 27 minutes by Jack), Rosicky, Denilson, AA, Chamakh, NB52.
That match was 2 (!) days after the 3-1 thrashing of Chelsea.
I’m not gonna get into why we rotated etc.
But it is a fact that we rotated and tomorrow we’re gonna play our strongest 11, which should more than enough to handle Wigan. A lot more actually.
So gAys, about the game tommorow, 3-1 should be good enough. That Moses guy scares me the most, and in the middle Diame looks a decent player. Al-Habsi is always in life-form against us. I think they are going to make 3-6-1 formation, in translation 9-0-1, so an early goal is surely welcomed, Walcott maybe.
About the spelling, sorry but, I’am Macedonian, and in our language we write as we speak:). Never learned english at school, I know the language only through movies and music. The main reason I’am drinking in this bar and trying to make myself a fool in English is because I love the Arsenal. In my town there are just few Arsenal supporters, and I needed some balanced attitude and someone to share winning and losing. That is what I found in this bar. ΠΠΎΠ·Π΄ΡΠ°Π², and rakija for all in the bar is on me.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/02/gervinho-arsenal-interview
Shaft loves a smart arse.
Especially on a smart female.
Shaft thinks Arsenal will be going medieval on Wigan then bringing back heifers for supporters.
ABB – You’ve got mail.
Hot toddy, please, ‘holic, and a toast to all the warm stream hunters. We’ll all be hoping for a clear stream and a good view of the Gunners shooting ’em out of the cold rainy sky. Come on the boys!!!
Once again guys, I’ll be here providing help to anybody who needs it on the stream front.
I have to look for one myself as the Israeli TV I usually watch (I have a program which I can watch Israeli TV from here) is showing Villa – UTD.
For tomorrow have a look at these websites.

That should be enough for now. If anyone is experiencing any difficulties just hit me up – Holic’s got my email.
Holic, please approve my last comment with the streaming links for the holics here…
So you’re 57 then, Holic?
A mere youngster.
I first went to Highbury when you were minus 1 and as I live in HK I will not be able to make the Tolly on Wednesday to see Paddy getting (it) up.
Have a great evening.
Heh! I’m thinking Les has done you a (slight) disservice, Holic!
Before we get too smug, we should remember that you are only 11 years older than me, and much less for others, I suspect!
Lurky Oliva @34 ..welcome and have a morning coffee. Ollie – Boooo!!! π
Please tell me that Arsene was bluffing about not looking for another striker.
*gulp*
Catalan – Don’t mind him.
Have a look – http://s3.amazonaws.com/twitpic/photos/large/386422848.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJF3XCCKACR3QDMOA&Expires=1322901171&Signature=oIQRh33aAscqocPaXHXlQR38kTg%3D
doesn”t load on my computer Snir. What was it?
Someone I really like did an extensive research about our GKs.
Desigunner – http://www.eplindex.com/szczesny-fabianski-almunia-true-lies/
Catalan – try this one – https://twitter.com/#!/gunnerblog/media/slideshow?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftwitpic.com%2F6e2ds0
Great Stuff Snir, and some interesting stats. But, especially for Goalies, I think what is needed is a “prescence”. Woj has it, the other two don’t.
And you also have the feeling that whilst Woj will make mistakes, he won’t crumble into a pile of nerves afterwards. The other two often did.
heh! Great photo
After reading the article I linked to in 46, all I can say is – Fuck stats.
If they say Woj has been anything but superb this season then the stats are useless.
heresy for you, Snir π
*polite applause from the pavilion for an elegant half century*
Catalan – I didn’t read the article when I linked it, I just linked it based on the fact that it was desigunner who wrote it.
Since I know the guy a bit, I know he started following the sport while living in the US so his approach is a bit too American for my liking.
Too many useless stats.
Woj is by far the best keeper in the EPL now that van Der Sar has retired (maybe Joe Hart is the closest to him, but he tends to have an Almunia blunder every once in a while where Woj had only one in his career so far – the Kyle Walker shot) and I don’t need stupid stats to tell me otherwise cause that would be plain wrong.
Catalan – I don’t know how I got the image of a stats lover in this bar.
I actually think they’re way overused especially in the American sports.
I only use them to back up my points and in this case the stats not only not back up my point but actually go against my point so fuck ’em.
Presence and giving defenders confidence can not be measured in stats.
Snir
Remember the Manure game this season will distort those stats fairly significantly…
I know, but he actually wrote that even with that game disregarded Woj has worse stats than the other two.
That’s where I stopped reading.
You know how highly I rate him.
lies, damned lies, and statistics
I have to say that I’m quite proud of my 39 comment which is awaiting moderation π
I never noticed how many streaming websites I’ve got on my bookmarks π
I picture you like one of those mad scientists sitting in front of 20 PC screens watching sport from all over the world, mainlining caffeine and twinky bars…
Oh. My. Head.
A big glass of resolve please, and an olive branch to oliver π
Heh…. Zico.
Don’t worry. Nice and quiet in here this morning. Just Snir. Oh…..
I actually did something like that once just without the caffeine π
Love it.
Zico, I think its an ‘Oliva’ branch to Oliver… π
PS – Oh. My. Head.? :s
I reject the insinuation that I’m noisy, I ain’t no Man City ! π
Ahh, I understand π
Stats in football is a very tricky thing. You need copious amounts of data to get anythinig meaningful out of it, and even then there is the age-old discussion about only looking at tangibles, i.e. tackles, shots, goals etc but I have yet to see a stat (at least in any official stats, but I would suspect that Arsene has got it) for the number of passes that were never made by the opposing team because Alex Song positioned himself so well or similar stuff. This is especially true for goalies, a shot that is off target does not go down as a save – but what if the shot was off target because the keeper made the attacker have to take a difficult shot? Take the Barca home game last season, for example, when Messi was through and Szczesny ran out, forcing Messi into a much more difficult finish than he would have liked. The ball went out of play not touching Szczesny, so it only goes down as a missed shot and not a save.
And as has already been pointed out, there is no stat for “prescence”. Woj has got it, Almunia and Fabianski does not. End of! π
Lars, you’re exactly right.
Stats for GKs have a whole lot of tangibles as opposed to plain passes, shots etc.
Woj is awesome, end of π
Lars nails it.
Why the booing at 42, Dr C?
Woj is awesome, end of
Spot on too.
I need a reason?? π
I was playing catch up speed drinking on last night and thought you had a go at our Macedonian friend. But then realised I probably got the wrong end of the stick.
Sorry!
Thanks for the Gervinho itw link, Snir.
70 was probably the sufficient answer π
Heh Ollie
As a wise man (Churchill?) once said;
“Better to keep quiet and have people think you a fool, than open your mouth and confirm it”
I have just found out that Dan Roebuck broadcasts matches on Chelsea TV.
I have to say, I am massively disappointed to hear that…
I thought he was a Gooner through and through.
Didn’t know that either Snir, quite shocking.
And I’ve just discovered that C+ Sport are showing the fucking skyblue Manc scum today and not us.
This would never have happened before the oily cunts bought their way to the top of the table.
Post ‘holic. Hope we pick up our pre-Fulham form again.
‘I’ve got a bastard behind the eyes’ – ‘I feel like a pig shat in my head’ – ‘I want somthing’s flesh’ and a decent on the road victory for The Arse
UREDS!
I do not take kindly to this, especially as I’ve only subsribed to these channels so that I can watch the Arsenal on TV.
Generally they would at least show us ‘as live’ later but no, got the fucking Real and BarΓ§a cunts later.
Gutted, gutted, gutted, gutted.
Afternoon All ,
Nice preview Holic .
Right , lets put these whippet-walking , black-pudding-belching , rugby-raving pie-eaters to the sword . Team pretty much picks itself . Gary Caldwell possibly the worst player in the History of the Premiership . Can’t see us conceding (fingers firmly crossed ) , so 2-0 to the Arsenal for me , with Flipper and Theo to step up and snaffle the goals .
Snir – Cheers for the Flipper interview . I like him more and more .
Lars @66 – Great post , couldn’t agree more . And from previous drinks , your mate sounds like my kind of fella . Joanna Lumley ? Hats off to him .
Dr Z @various – Get straight back on it would be my advice . No hangover π
Ollie
Do you have sky? Then you can do the football first later ( much later) as live….
AL @78 – heh π
Ollie – It’s on in the away juicer of choice , if that’s any help to you ? π
Holic @1 and H2H @13 (heh!)
That Wigan casino gaff looks like my kind of place π
No Sky here Catalan. Weirdly enough, I don’t see ‘Match of Ze Day’ programmed on Canal+ tonight, most odd.
And heh, tabs. Yeah, that’s some help. In making me want to kick you π
Afternoon all.
3 points is a must today. I know the arguements re a rotated team in the last 2 seasons but for me that is no excuse. Both sides put out should have been more than enough to earn a victory. Especially when you consider the circumstances of each game.
My trip with the off spring last year still brings back very fond memories. A couple of pies pre match is still the talk of my abode.
We have looked more solid in recent weeks and have a good shape about us. More of that today and I can see nothing but a win. We need to dig in. We should know what to expect by now. They will battle. Win the early battles and we will end up winning the war.
Keep the faith.
From the Arsenal web site……
Arsène Wenger says it is unlikely he will make a move for another striker in the January transfer window.
Oh dear. Let us hope that this is just a smoke screen.
Afternoon all.
Forgot to mention in the post (I will tonight) that Arthur the Gooner has updated the Android app which you can get to at…
https://rapidshare.com/files/3412962510/com.goonerholic.zip
…or by clicking on the android ‘holic in the sidebar.
Thanks Arthur. Top man.
Steve, don’t worry! Have a look @47.
Everybody else have a look @39!
Grabbed RvP to score first and 2-1 to us at 18/1. Not a fan of these dodgy double bets, but that seems good value to me.
Ollie @85 heh π
When he blows in, its generally too late to do anything about it… π
#lurk
Squares a perfect ball for an onrushing Arsenal striker …
Take the ball on his right, switches to his left and cuts into the center.
Plays it out into the left wing…
Recovers the ball just before it crosses the touch line and plays it toward the corner flag ..
Receives the ball on the halfway with his back to goal , snuggles into the opposing centre half , tries a ridiculously extravagant back flick , and falls over . The crowd start booing , but luckily the ball squirts out to an onrushing Arsenal player …
Picks it up at the corner flag, looks up for a on-rushing (Scruz)gooner?
Squeezes down the goal line, looks to play it in…
Sees that the manager wants to pull him off , but thinks bollocks , and rushes towards the area …
Takes a sip from a breakfast BM and heads the ball forward….
Lofts the ball into the area, looks for a head on the end of it…
Oh goodness!
Its in the back of the end!
Must of been a gust of wind…
Runs to the Corner flag and celebrates with the man in the Speedos and the Dutchman from Holloway π
Well in Wind ! I see Tabs has taught you well π
Could have been a landmark day for cross-dressers everywhere . Oh well .
*Sees he’s about to be pulled off and perks up*
Net*
In his celebration, he can’t discern comprehensive grammatical sentences! π
Just back on time for a nod-in?
Not quite, you frenzied centuryposters.
Well in Wind (who else? :D)
Thanks Wolfie, nice bit of collaboration play in the build up π
tabs is the best teacher any junior century hunter could possibly want π
You know it Ollie!
Thanks man π
Ahh Grasshopper , super goal π
H2H – Have another BM for that superb glancing header .
Off to the juicer chaps where I shall be imbibing with sometime poster , Brazilian Gooner . Looks like a heavy one ahead , so catch you all tomorrow probably .
Good luck everyone .
Come on The Arsenal !!!
Drink is evil.
So am I.
A marriage made in err, heaven.
Taking your advice, tabs, and off to find the hound of hell that took a sizeable chunk of me yesterday.
COYRRS
Thanks Master tabs, enjoy getting thrashed at the juicer π
COYRRR.
CoMonUSUPeREDSSS!
Get pumped!
Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal!
Come On You Gunners!
A huge array of streams available fellas.
Just press one of the streams from @39.
http://ice-sportz.eu/stream5.html
This works for me (once I got rid of the ads…)
Nothing delights me more than ‘this chat has been closed because you’ve been idle 25 minutes’.
Thank fuck for that. As long as the stream carries on.
Now for some Arsegoals please.
Get in there.
ARTETA!!!!!!
Arteta you absolute beauty!
Goal of December for Arsenal already!?!
Artetetetetetaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good lad Arteta!
U Reds!
2-0 !!!!
VERMINATATED.
The Verminator!!!!!
2-0!
5th in the table currently!
Vermalean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Verminatored!!!
From a corner even!
Heh. Commentators are going mental about Wigan’s poor defending.
Great away support as always!
psed the man we left back holding the fort at the corner was left back – and Pele’s old side – Santos – interesting
Something is wrong.
We scored from a corner and we scored a goal and it wasn’t RvP.
How dangerous are our corners today?!
Clean sheet please.
Great first half!
Keep it lads! No room for complacency!
Song is solid! Arteta and Ramsey are running the show! Van is just Persie!
Per great tackle!
Not only did we take a shot from outside the box, but we scored from it.
Not only are our corners dangerous, but we scored from a corner…!
Something is extremely weird π
Easy enough at the mo, but we need to keep going, knock a few more in to improve our goal difference.
COYRRR’s
Ollie: That stream was great — until it died! Anyone with another good link?
Cheers
Hi Holics –
Does anyone please have a safe, working stream ?
Sorry Snir – not your fault at all, but I tried a couple in your list – first one ran like a 1930’s newsreel and the second one resulted in my laptop completely locking with a scam screen – Met Police demanding payment of a fine (seriously!) as they had detected my computer sending and storing multiple images of violence and child pornography!!!.
All this to try and watch a bleeding football match.
Luckily a computer whizz friend of mine has “remotely” unlocked my laptop.
http://www.ilemi.me/36050/1/Watch-Wigan-Athletic-vs-Arsenal/
Matt, This one has done good for me so far:
http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/95790/1/watch-wigan-athletic-vs-arsenal.html
Or check Snir’s list at #39.
Trev – Funny you say that, because I have never had those problems.
Watched the entire first half with the link @137. Try it.
or this http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/
Still going for me, Matt(2).
Snir, it can only mean one thing: we might win in Wigan again.
I reckon they left back Santos at the corner so he could have a fag/pie break … Loving how aggressive – in the right way – our lot look – really fired up + quality reveals goodside!
UREDS!
Thanks chaps, here goes, Met Police permitting !!
I just had to press ‘play’ again at the start of the second half.
Trev, imhd.eu, look for Wigan Athletic vs Arsenal
I hate Mark Clattenburg, utter cunt.
How is that not a penalty? I’m confused.
Stonewall penaltty amd Caldwell is a cunt.
3-0
GEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRVVVVVVVVIIIIIIINNNNNNNNHHHOOOOOOOOO!
Flippered.
The ‘holic pound never stood a chance today.
BTW Clattencunt is a CUNT!
High-Five-Head!
Van Persie left his shooting boots at The Grove I think π
RvP joins the scoresheet.
Super Theeeeoooo
Van Persied!!!!
Van Peeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrsssssssssssiiiiiiiieeeeeeeee
Walllllllllllllllllcccccccccccooooooooooootttttttttttttttt
The Theo
Ole’s justified for once.
Coq on
Four goals and a clean sheet away from home.
Can’t ask much more then that.
Well played you reds.
Does anyone know what the RvP song was on the tune of He’s five foot four?
Wet, wind and a win in Wigan.
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo…
Great win! As iH2H(from the bar) said him self?
What more can you ask for?
Snir
Not to sure about that song!
Snir, did you mean this one? (Courtesy Arseblog)
“He scores when he wants, he scores when he waaaa-aaaants, Robin van Persie, he scores when he wants”
I think I did.
Thanks mate.
Trev – I’m shocked it didn’t work for you.
It works great for me, never had a problem.
Works so great that I don’t have a TV, let alone cable!
Don’t need it, I watch everything on the laptop, from sports to sitcoms etc.
a hoo-rah-ray and a tiger!
nicely done, ya goons. aresenal we love you…
And we are now up to 5th on goal difference.
Baltimorean – Where did you find that? On blogs’ twitter page? Can’t find it.
From OptaStat tweet: Arsenal ended a run of 179 corners without a goal from a corner in the Premier League when @T_Vermaelen05 scored.
Snir, someone posted it on the arses.
It’s also on the arseblog liveblog page
Talking of stats – Aaron’s pass rate today? 95% successful. That’s astonishing.
Man, the Travellnig Support have it made!
Been to 4 home games this season, only one that must of matched this game in vocal support was the 3-0 at Bolton where van Persie got his 99th and 100th goals!
Missed Gervinho’s and the Captain’s goals, but I’ll watched the 2nd half highlights on Arsenal Player or MotD, whichever comes first.
Come on you Super Reds!
I love the Arsenal with all my heart:D
Extremely satisfied with today.
A clean sheet, a goal from outside the box, a goal from a corner, a goal for Gervinho and outstanding team spirit from Theo being unselfish for RvP’s goal.
And above all – The work rate – WOW!
Players tracking back at 4-0 up. I love this season’s team.
Sorry Cesc, you’re the jinx. Look at Barca’s position in the La Liga table.
Don’t worry, I’m sure RvP will post his photo with the silverware on Twitter so you’ll be able to see it.
Tim Stillman on Twitter:
At final whistle, Szczesny came to away fans, put his finger to lips, we were all quiet & he started singing ‘we’re by far the greatest team’
Stats my ass – Woj is awesome, end of.
Arsenal in crisis! Van Persie only scores one fourth of all goals in a game, and that was with a chance even a shot-shy defender (like Vermaelen) would have put away!
Now that’s one Twitter thing I believe π
Szcz is awesome indeed!
Woj is wicked.
right, I’ve booked the earlier train after all so I shall be in the pub at about 12pm next saturday, delays notwithstanding.
What a year for RVP. Has he done a lot to boost his profile, or what?
On the other hand, I have checked the train tickets for boxing day and the price is aaaaaaaaaaaargh, and I have discovered with horror that there seems to be no train after 4pm on New Year’s EVe (what the fuck?).
Not happy at all, was planning to just be back home before midnight and consider this a normal saturday game).
Eurostar are still and forever utter fucking cunts.
They are the John Terry of the transport industry.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDvqiMr9PIU
Have a look at Woj at 1:30
This time last year we were in the top 3 and I was nervous. What a difference a year makes. This is a real team, playing for each other and the fans. And they are really enjoying it!!!
Top clip Snir.
ABB – check your inbox.
I have to say watching the players tracking back at 4-0 up was the best feeling of the game.
Great clip Snir, he’s an absolute legend!
I’m not sure if any of you are watching the late kick off game, but how shit has Alex McLeish made Villa? Horrible home performance.
Really can’t be arsed watching that game. But even even if he hadn’t made them that shit (and he has), he would have done so just for this game against his mate.
SG@185: great clip. Szcz is becoming a legend.
H2H, it’s baffling to me how a team containing Agbonlahor and Bent can be so poor.
Half-time at Villa Park.
I want them to win, but if they aren’t going to put in the effort, what’s the point?
IH2H@190: mid-table mediocrity. Appointing McLeish in the first place was a sign of lack of ambition.
Sg@193: no quality service to them.
Ollie, I am not sure I find it fare (heh) that your train gets into London before mine next Saturday.
I arrive at Kings X at 12 ; 55 which probably means I will only have time for a quick beer at the Tollie before….
Still, means I can’t be blamed for being the bad influence on the Head Honcho
π
Hey, Wind, you goal hanging?
If, so here’s a long punt forward..
Who want’s it most?
GET IN!
Ohh so close. The Dutchman beats me to the tap in, how obvious.
Ned @ 195 – spot on.
No ambition.
Bah NBN, 100 was good enough for me.
There’s a lesson for all you lurkers, take your eye of the ball, for even a second, you’ve lost it π
Well in H2H, unlucky Snir, and nice assist NBN π
Well in iH2H. For a moment there, I thought my punt was going to bounce over everyone and dribble in, but you were there to placate the gods of self-assist.
I isch on a schit hot schcoring run. π
The bar is open π —->
NBN – You’re right but apart from Young they have basically the same squad.
Agbonlahor and Bent have to work on their own for their chances.
Question – Alex Song is one yellow away from being suspended for one match.
Do we rest him for Everton and let Coq/Frimpong start against Fellaini or do we risk playing him and risk the chance of him being suspended for the trip to City?
I’d rest him.
Question 2: Does his yellow card from St. James’ Park still count or does it not since he got suspended from the league?
I reckon it still counts because the suspension was for the stamp and not for his booking which had nothing to do with all that.
Heh Robin, I mean H2H π

Snir @ 188 I forgot to tell you that I was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Use to watch them practice at USF. Met Sir Rodney Marsh, Derek Smethhurst, Stuart Jump, Mark Lindsey. Rodney was a real flirt but he was a joy to watch and he loved the game. Their team motto was ‘Soccer is a kick in the grass’!
Come on you Gunners!
