Attitude, Attitude, Attitude

Sod Carlsberg, if Guinness did weekends this is pretty much what we could expect, I reckon. Yesterday the door to third place didn’t just open, it fell frame and all out of the wall. While the big prize is now a two-horse race the fascinating battle for the third automatic Champions League berth turned into a four-way contest, and that will drop to three if we beat sixth placed Newcastle at the Grove in Monday’s televised match.
Taking that for granted prematurely would be a massive mistake, and one I’m sure the players will not be allowed to make. The visitors are proving to be something of a surprise package, and even their own supporters would tell you that. Frustrated that the club invested little of the windfall it received for Andy Carroll from Liverpool there were serious rumblings of discontent on Tyneside as the season got underway. Ring any bells?
However, Carroll’s free signing replacement, Demba Ba, has rattled in 16 goals in 23 Premiership appearances to lift his new club into contention for European football next season. They, like us, have been labelled a one-man team, but like us that careless aside ignores the workrate and team spirit behind the prolific goalscorer. Watching them occasionally this season I can’t help but be impressed by Tim Krul, an excellent goalkeeper, the much-improved Fabricio Coloccini at the back, and the combative pairing of Johan Cabaye and Cheick Tiote in the engine room.
Our goal-less draw at St James’ Park on the opening day of the season was somewhat frustrating at the time, but with the benefit of hindsight it was a half-decent result. Away from home in the League they have won five, and they drew at Old Trafford. Their last two visits to London do not hold happy memories however, as they shipped five goals at both Craven Cottage and White Hart Lane, and they are without a win since beating Villa at home five weeks ago.
That inconsistency, something with which we are not entirely unfamiliar, means predicting the outcome of this one is a tricky business. We should welcome back Mikel Arteta, with both Aaron Ramsey and Andre Santos also available but likely to be kept out of the starting line-up by Tomas Rosicky and Kieran Gibbs respectively. That means the only real decision for the boss to make is perming any two from Theo Walcott, Gervinho, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the flanks.
All we can plead for as supporters is that whatever eleven starts they show the pace and commitment so evident in the last two home outings against the neighbours and Milan. Attitude in the final eleven games will be everything. Tottenham are handing third place, and a seventeenth consecutive St Totteringhams Day celebration, to us on a gilt-edged plate. Don’t let it slip now.
As far as the ‘holic pound goes, well I am working on the basis that we take the threat posed by the Geordies seriously and approach the match in confident and determined mood. A repeat of the high tempo performance and the 3-0 result against Milan will return around tens or elevens if you shop around. I’m on it.
Thanks ‘holics
I need to say one more time a big thanks to you all for your support in the last couple of weeks. I know I haven’t been around much but to see the drinks not only keeping going, but flourishing, has been immensely humbling and satisfying. To the new faces, welcome. You will have worked out you have touched base with some seriously considerate, if mildly deranged individuals who comment on this site!
The management appears to be improving by the day, and your consideration and good wishes will not be forgotten in a hurry.
Cheers all.

We just have to be…
Oh, the bar is open!
‘mildly’ deranged, heh.
Good news on the ever-improving management!
Brilliant as usual holic
Fair assessment – nice to see that.
I reckon our double Demba Senegal strikeforce could cause you problems if we can service them correctly – but sadly, our defence is not what it was at the beginning of the season after the loss of, and failure to replace, Stephen Taylor.
Glad to hear the management is recuperating well. I don’t post here much but do always enjoy reading your articles. I didn’t know she was unwell-sorry to hear and Cheers!
So if we disqualify Holic & one of Ollie’s, and the Barcode, do I get a place in the Inter Totto Cup then?
Third place is there for the taking now! Attitude and belief will secure it. If we approach the run-in with the same uptempo approach and self-belief we will definitely get 3rd. Attitude Holics
heh GT. Fancy a trip to Eastern Europe in July? ;D
Delighted to hear of the progress in the boardroom. I think we can win it tomorrow night. I think we must win it tomorrow night.
utd111.com @ 5: The last time I got food poisoning was from eating a pie at St Jame’s Park – that was over 30-years ago. Apart from that it was always my favorite away ground. Sports Direct Stadium doesn’t have there same ring, Thought you’d like to know that…(0;
9th!!!!!
300th!!!!! No wait! It’s being contested! GT, Ollie, Oxon, Wind,
I’m callin’ Peter Taylor! I demand an FA enquiry, the Reds are at it again! Where’s the Le Boss?……..’holic!?!?! π
Nice assessment ‘holic! Upbeat tempo, keep Ba and Cisse quiet and should be a comfortable win increasing the Goal with the pretenders and the Bus-Stop!
United111,
What really been the secret of your success and why is Pardew come across as such a wanker?! π
Congrats on 12th drink, DanC ! π
*increasing the Goal Difference….*
12th??!! Is Webb the ref or what?! It’s fixed!!!
Actually, my old mate Howard is the ref tomorrow DanC.
Play nicely with the visitors. We show them respect as long as it is a two-way street.
Welcome utd111. Thanks for the kind words. You have to be delighted to be in contention for a European berth in one or other of the competitions?
@goonerterry – the catering is much better these days mate! But a bit of a rip off like most grounds these days!
@DanC – the unbeaten run of our first 11 games is what has separated us from the pack mate – aided and abetted by Ba’s goals of course. Not sure if Pardew is the arrogant bloke who was at WHU – think he’s learnt his lesson, but only time will tell.
It’s great news about the management, ‘Holic, and I am in awe that you can keep writing such consistently high quality posts at such an obviously stressful time.
@16goonerholic – absolutely! There weren’t many United fans who looked at this season with anything else than trepidation when you think of the players we let go. But there’s growing support for the way the club is now being run, in profit, academy overhauled, buying only young players – mainly from France……anybody here recognise the model?? LOL
Add to that though a ruthless but extremely successful businessman as the owner and maybe the Prem should sit up and recognise one of the few Prem teams who are self-financed but doing well?
Fair comment fella.
No arguments here.
Good luck, after tomorrow obviously. Would love to see us third and you fourth!
‘holic @16
don’t worry, I’m house-trained! ;-
Utd111,
you’ve certainly had a great season and much credit has to be given your way! π Furthermore, IMO, you’ve been one of the top sides this season and it pains me to say it, but Pardew’s done good! Just wish he’d stop trying to have a scrap with everyone in the technical area!
Ba’s certainly done well but haven’t seen much of Cisse nor in the African Cup! What’s he all about? He’s got abit of pace right?
Utd111 @19,
Spot on mate, I really do like the way your clubs being run and overhauled! Many would do well to follow your example! A top stadium and top fanbase in a big city where you’re the only “show in town” – great potential! You deserve 4th for the season you’ve had: of course your chase for that cab start again on Tuesday! ;-D
Cheers lads
I’m no apologist for Pardew, so I’ll park it!
Cisse looks class – he’s scored 2 goals in 4 games already and he’s lethal with both feet and he’s dangerous – a perfect foil for Ba. Not sure if he’ll feature against you – we normally favour 4-4-2 and if Pardew goes with that he will play. But given your recent form – he may go 4-5-1 ; with Ba alone up front (still lethal!! if he gets half a chance) – we’ll see.
Most United fans think a draw would be a good result. Personally, I’d also prefer Arsenal to finish top 3 – as I can’t stand Tottingham, it’s just the way they are……
*chase for that should…..*
Small Heath massive aside, I’m still amazed, this blog even gets the best from the ‘other’ teams.
Fair play to you, 111.
Utd111 @23,
I like the cut of your jib mate! Up the toon; after tomorrow evening of course!!! π May both sides get the result they deserve for their endeavours! π
I am just very happy to hear that she is feeling better, ‘Holic. That kind of takes precedent above everything else, even if I have yet to met you, not to mention her.
Very glad to hear that.
Oh, and we will win 2-1.
Utd111, great through ball mate! π
Sorry – I should really qualify that comment about Tottingham – what annoys fans up here is that they get 36,000 crowds and we get 52,000 – and then we get told they are a “bigger club” – aye right!!
Really happy to hear the management is still improving, Holic.
Interesting comparisons between us and NUFC. Hadn’t really thought about that, but there are quite a lot of similarities this season.
Utd111 @29, i couldn’t agree more! If ever a “big club” name deserved to belong to anyone, it’s NUFC!
Utd111, tell me mate, do you still pay those ridiculously high wages that made several players take advantage of your club’s generosity or has Ashley sensibly addressed that too in his strategy?
utd111 – never qualify dislike of the Sp*ds. Nearly spoiled some shrewd work there, π
Our key midfield palyers are Tiote and Cabaye….
You know the old adage about “all successful teamd have a strong spine”?
Well……
Our spine is:
Krul – cracking goalie, Netherlands International
Coloccini – Argentinian Centre-Half
Tiote – “Mr T” Defensive Midield
Cabaye – Creative midfield – can land the ball on a 1p coin from 30 yards
Ba – “half-chance killer” – daft thing is we saw him as a sad replacement for Andy Β£35M Caroll – funny old world eh??? LOL!!
And of course Cisse – think “Jermaine Defoe”
We’re building – but we may lose some players in the summer to so-called “bigger clubs” apparently!
Should be a good game tomorrow folks – enjoy!
utd111 –
have to say you seem a good sort, but I AM looking forward to seeing lots of fat old bare chested Geordies crying by 9.50pm tomorrow.
Just sayin’ like, π
utd111 –
There’s only one Mr T around here, if you don’t mind.
“land the ball on a 1p coin” – sounds like an Ashley training drill.
“think Jermain Defoe” – cheers mate, you just restored our confidence with that little comment π
@danc31 – no we don’t mate. Ashley is a shrewd operator – look at the success of Tat.Direct.
If a player doesn’t want to sign for United at the rate that is offered, bye – there’s plenty more players out there……especially french ones….
That’s the way it is now in “Le Toon” LOL
Up ze management and down with ze complacency, as Arsene would say.
‘Holic – glad to hear of Mrs ‘H’s continued progress.
Slightly offended by your ‘mildly deranged’ comment. When did we get downgraded ? π
Heh π
Trev
utd111 –

Just sayinβ like,
______________________
Of course you are Trev – you wouldn’t be a supporter if you didn’t think like that.
Equally, I’d like to see us get a draw. I don’t think a win for us is really on – but you never know!
Hey – by the way – some of those bare-chested geordies are young and slim!! LOL!
Utd111 @36,
sounds good mate, looks like he’s bringing in some good and sustainable ideas to the toon! Not sure about the name change though?! “Tat.Direct”! π
Good luck tomorrow but I do hope that “Carroll’s Sad replacement” and “Jermaine Defoe-Cisse” have a quiet one with Mr “1p coin”! Enjoy the match! π
Evening all. Another great set of results this weekend. The red half of scouse land still love king Kenny and the Klanfield mafia despite another failure. The Chavs looked anything but impressive and the Spuds just make me laugh. How can the best squad in world football, managed by the best manager ever in world football lose 3 on the bounce? Can’t be Arry’s fault. I can’t be the only one who saw him on motd and thought fuck me, that twitch has got massive? Even funnier was hearing loads of deluded Spuds on the radio today. How we chortled.
Monday is a tough test. Another must win fixture. Let’s hope it is the “we don’t travel to London too well geordies” that pitch up at the Grove. A similar performance to that against Milan will have the desired affect. If this time tomorrow we sit a point behind the Spuds with a better goal difference I will have quite a large grin on my face.
Great right up holic. Also very glad to hear good news and about progress.
Onwards and upwards. Anyone else heading to the Tollie pre match?
‘holic,
take things easy mate and best wishes to Mrs ‘h!
DanC
Utd111 @36,

Cheers Dan – hope it’s a good game, should be when you look at the players on the pitch.
After all – we all want our team to win, but we also want to watch good football? I know I do…..
Whatever happens tomorrow folks – good luck for 3rd place (or even 2nd after today eh?)
Cheers
UTD111.COM
Thanks Dan,
Evening Steve π
Good to hear that the Management outlook is improving. We had a big health scare, blimey, 5 years back and I’m delighted to say that She Who Must Be Obeyed is fully recovered and still requiring obedience like a good ‘un.
I thought I might be one of the “new faces” referred to in Holic’s final paragraph and, like Ollie I was a little confused by the ” ‘mildly’ deranged”. I seem to get involved just before a new blog gets posted so people may have missed my previous acknowledgements of welcomes. Thank you one and all, the non-mildness of the derangement helps me to feel completely at home.
Good to read your comments UTD111, I second Ollie@25’s remark about the most reasonable away supporters here too. Best of luck from Tuesday onwards.
I am now away to get my head down.
COYRRR
Evening ‘holic. Great post – and very glad to hear the management is progressing well.
Fair play to Utd111, nice blog too. Always a pleasure to read pleasant visitors on this site who know their football and love their club. Best of luck to ‘Le Toon’ for the rest of the season (apart from tomorrow night obviously π )
So, who’ll be at the Tollie then?
Thanks Oxon, indeed you are.
Good man snowy. Great new songs in the last drinks. You missed your vocation π
I’ll be there Snowy, Steve T – about 6.30. Usual spot(s) ?
TS is there too, I believe.
BtM – from prev drinks, heh π
‘holic @48 – heh π
Trev – ‘neath the Tollie Brollie perchance?
Thumbs up for the management holic.
Thumbs up too for utd111, plenty of room on here for spud hating football talk π
Big club my arse! A small middlesex club until the greater london act in 1963 gave them ideas above their station. Boo to the spuds. Good to see them on the downward spiral heh π
3 – 0 might be a good shout for the Β£1 holic. Two clean sheets in a row? Zico is already sweating π

Sorry β I should really qualify that comment about Tottingham β what annoys fans up here is that they get 36,000 crowds and we get 52,000 β and then we get told they are a βbigger clubβ β aye right!!
______________________________________________
Oh yes – and did I mention that the Totts media-inspired arrogance – sort of a mini Manure but without having the trophies….or anything really…… to back it up?
What has “St Harry of the London Media” got to say after his team have only won 2 out of the last 8 games?
Pah!!
Spot on as usual with the analysis, ‘Holic. Let’s go win.
And excellent news on the management.
Cheers to you both with Jura (half gone now as WoB has taken a shine to it).
snowy – aye, man!
Run ragged at seven a sides tonight – fecking young ringers.
Glad to hear that things are on the upswing at home, Holic.
Mark the Spark, if we keep out Mr Bah Humbug tomorrow night we will have done well. Unfortunately for the Bar Codes, we have Robin who scores when he wants, and I suspect he will be feeling a bit wanty tomorrow night……
Taxes filed with a sizable refund is expected. With all this black ink it somehow doesn’t seem completely fitting to leave my name in the red but so it shall stay, at least until we bounce the barcodes. Time to open a beer. π
The Tollie it is then.
See you tomorrow boys.
“Barcodes” ffs
Look, lads – we could call you all sorts of daft names too – what’s this “barcodes” rubbish? We only have 2 stripes running down our shirts!! Not much info there!
Don’t do the infantile stuff – Arsenal have a reputation for rising above that sort of thing.
Utd111 @61,
don’t take it personally mate, it’s all just meant in jest, as ‘holic stated earlier! π
Just out of curiosity, what kinda names you guys got? π
Gee I thought that we were the only ones who hated the Spuds…its so refreshing to hear of another team that has not fallen for their hype…
‘Holic, great write-up, liking the positivity & excellent news to hear of the management’s recovery day by day. The deranged lot, well, they know who they are… 8)
Back to Black for me, especially that a proper user of the website bar is here – utd111.com, good to have you, reading your banter with DanC, Ollie, ‘Holic, Trev, GoonerTerry warms me cockles it does π
Great break-down of your team by the way, for someone like me who’s first memory of Newcastle United was Dyer and maybe Duff slugging it out on MotD last decade ending in 2 reds, you’ve come a long way, I do look in on your results especially as my family knows the Ameobi family and brothers (Shola & Sammy specifically) through Church and my older brother and sisters tell me that they could tell Shola would make it as a footballer just from watching him play at the time 2 decades ago, he was that much better than everyone else around him it seems.
Hopefully they’ll have a guiet night tonight on the pitch along with Ba, Cabaye & Cisse & anyone else that can do damage, I’m all for Newcastle for 4th, but after 9:45pm today when we’ve hopefully secured all 3 points π
This is one of the best things about this bar, gotta agree with Ollie @ 25, the away fans that enter are the best from their respective clubs, its been consistent recently and long may it continue, fair play to you 111 indeed π
Will have to take a gander at your blog later it seems π
unt111: Its a term of endearment mate. We usually have more X-rated names for the team we really hate!
DanC: It was funny the other day when I saw the Norwich fans referring to us as Ar$enal…original..considering we’re broke (0;
Wind –
your first memories of Newcastle were dire and duff – that’s funny, so are most of mine.
Hey GT, good job utd111 hasn’t dropped in on FFF eh ? π
Trev: I know! I wonder how many people drop in on a Friday and say to themselves: “back the fuck up quick!”….(0;
I hate it that people cannot see you when you post, so things intended humorously spark proper agg.
Good job there are no Lilywhite cunts looking in, eh?
Choke!
Is that supposed to be funny ‘holic ? π
Evening young Trev,
What are you doing up at this time of night?
Time for beauty sleep, surely?
π
Indeed, a lot of singing and shouting to be done tomorrow evening.
G’night !
Everyone gone to bed ? Pah , part timers .
A nice little curry , a few settling pints , half a bottle of scotch , and playmates I am ready to rock and roll !!!!
Holic , great preview , great news that Mrs H is on the up , and sincere Best Wishes for better times ahead .
United111 seems a decent sort I must say . Shame his team is gonna get tonked tomorrow π
3-0 to the Arse , nae bother , and the screams from N17 will get louder and louder .
“mildly deranged” ??? That spells recovery to me , consider me on the way back to full sanity .
Oh and I almost forgot …
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJAfLE39ZZ8&ob=av2e
thinks about a 28 passing move to the century . Is it possible ?
I think it is you know !
Warming up on the touchline , wearing Speedoes , Jimmy Choos , and a particularly affecting head scarf (on account of the mild spring breeze ) . Gets the call from the manager to strip down and get ready for action …
Ever willing to please the manager he takes his Speedoes off . Sent back down the tunnel to a chorus of “Come and play the game if you think you’re hard enough “
Re-emerges from tunnel , having taken a viagra . The results are there for all to see . The crowd gasps ….
Limbers up on touchline . The Ref averts his eyes . The linesman Sian Massey gives him a flirty smile . “On you come son ” she says rather provocatively …
He waddles on , his usual low centre of gravity completely undone by the massive bulge in his pants ….
Manager crosses his fingers, says a prayer, closes his eyes and sends TABS on the field….
Taking a traditional centre-forward position , no defender can get near him , not through any movement on his part , but because of his enormous python which is understandably a warning to any centre-half that comes within a foot and a half of him …
Gives a knowing wink to his manager , West Upper , that says no worries , its gonna be my South Lower that does the business for you tonight Gaffer
Glad to hear about the management’s speedy recovery.
NUFC have come a long way since that 3-0 drubbing at the Emirates under Kevin Keegan. If my memory serves me right it was also the match where we saw Kevin Ashley bare chested with a beer in his hand among the Geordie supporters.
Anyway I wish NUFC good luck after tonight’s game.
Gives away a foul for “nudging ” his opponent , even though clearly 3 foot away . He’s clearly growing into the game …
Pole vaults his way into the oppo penalty area – even Messi can’t do that – the midget fucker …
Manager looks on in horrified fascination as TABS hops about the pitch..
Unfortunately he crash lands straight into the cross-bar . The sound of wood on wood reverberates around the ground . The crowd gasps as they wait to see if he will get up …
He gets up to the acclaim of the watching 60,000 , gives the thumbs up to West Upper , and gets to his three feet …
Physio comes on and applies the magic sponge while surreptitiously slipping TABS a double dose of Viagra…
John Motson is beside himself in the commentary box “If I’m not mistaken ,this is the first time since november the 12th 1963 that we’ve had a player on the pitch with a manhood measuring more than 19 inches …
Would like a bit more of the magic sponge , but hardens himself for the fray and jumps back into the action …
Cup of coffee (aka anti-complacency cocktail) please barman, and keep them coming!!
Every time he turns round he takes out 3 defenders , not to mention 2 team mates . The crowd have never seen a display like this since Sir Stanley Matthews played the 53 final having not had sex for 15 years …
Barca score two. Cesc FFS! Our boy has been to Barca diving school, He went down for that penalty more easily than Holic’s man Zamora under a tickle from JD20.
Darren Dein sidles up to the manager and whispers in his ear that he’s been offered a 7 figure contract for TABS to star in a serious of porn movies by wealthy Arab investors..
BTM FFS do something about TABS he’s running amok..
Alan Hansen is going crazy in the studio …
“This backs up my point . You’ll never win anything with kids , and by the look of this fella , he has reached full adulthood ”
Thank you Alan , incisive as ever , you boring Cunt …
What’s that sticking out from under the large Arab’s white robes??
Hears the offer from his agent Darren “dastardly” Dein and sits down to consider it
Not to be greedy or anything but how’s about scoring a big one?
8 ball well in……
TABS if you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours seek immediate medical attention….
Thank you Tabs and West Upper for the series of intricate and spectacularly pulled off passes leading up to that easy tap in. π
WU, That sounds like a case for medical attention of the attractive young nurse variety. π
His work is done .
He receives a standing ovation as he is stretchered off , resembling a small tent .
G’night all π
Phew…..
It occurs to me that if their recent results are anything to go by, Tottenham may not get another point this season. π
Ryo v. QPR man of the match video:
http://football-talk.co.uk/60639/video-individual-highlights-of-ryo-miyaichis-motm-performance-vs-qpr/?
Ole TABs…had me laughing my Arse off..
WU: Tell Darren to fack off – we’re keeping TABs till the end of his contract..
@ 106 Speaking of, I doubt if anybody has read the piles warmer recently, but he’s not even bothering to hide his sp*dism anymore. So how is it that this haemorrhoidal tosser is generating ad revenue from a blog labeled that it’s about Arsenal news? His March 10th drivel read: “To me Spurs has become [more] important than England, even if both under-achieve. David Moyes would be great at Spurs. I’d love to see him there. He can’t do any more for potless Everton. He’s done 10 years and 459 games with 192 wins. With Moyes running the team, and Fellaini anchoring the midfield, Tottenham would be Top Four most seasons. Bring it on, Daniel!” FFS, surely a case of advanced dementia?
Time to take this by the scruff of the neck, we have to follow-up our good form with another 3 points. We’ve been in this position countless times in the last five or six years, now is the time to show heart, desire and maturity in a hostile environment. Keep the good times a-rollin’. COYR.
Well in, bt8b.
‘Holic, excellent news about the Management. Long may it continue.
Wahay! I can get in again.
Hello ‘holic and ‘holics.
Good wishes to the management.
Enjoy the football today, ‘holics they might lock me out of the drinks again
OK I am boycotting Goonerholic until AFTER the game this evening..
Can’t sleep due to overdose of Viagra .
GT – No worries , that Dein fella ain’t gonna get me . I’m contracted to Holic for life . He’s paying me in under the counter little blue pills , and if that ain’t enough for a fella to last the course , then I’m a lemon souffle .
Gedo – “hostile environment” ?????? We’re at the Ems !!!!!
Ned – You congratulate 8Ball for the goal , and yet not a word about the build up play . Not a dicky bird !!!!!! . Goal hangers get all the glory – unbelievable . I take drugs for the team , I crash into the cross bar , I suffer the abuse of the home crowd , I manfully shrug off the comfort of the magic sponge to provide the assist and for what ????????
Wonders whether he is in the right profession !!!! π
In Jamaican does “boycott” actually mean “I’m going to bed” ?
wakes from alcoholic induced slumber and considers whether an 85 passing move to the goal is on ?
Rationally one would say no …
But on the other hand , would that attitude have seen the Human Race get to the moon , Muhammad Ali reclaim his rightful throne for the third time at the grand old age of 38 , Tabs see off the second half of his bottle of the good stuff ?
Ladies and Gentleman I think not .
TaBS, would a xanax help?
Tragically , I am neither Neil Armstrong nor Muhammad Ali , I am just plain old Tabs .
The impossible is not possible .
I shall rest awhile and ponder this conundrum .
bstum – Excuse my ignorance but what’s a xanax ?
It may well help .
7 against Blackburn
5 against Spuds
3 against Milan
1-0 to the Arsenal today??

Alprazolam – somewhat shunned in the UK but widely prescribed in the US….But I take it back, keep riffing – it might take a while but I can’t wait for when you play the mancs and encounter a certain chinless wonder…

Long time no see, here’s the ball for old time’s sake….or should that be old time Japanese sake?

Ah Canons me ole chum , Sake is good .
Mark Twain damn fine writer , didn’t like golf much mind you . Having said that , he never got to see the Ryder Cup did he .
Hey tabs, is it the Newcastle match keeping you up or too much of the blue pill? Scoring goals is not worth giving yourself a hard time mate π
I’ll leave some delicious warm sake in an Arsenal cup on the counter for you…
I finally got myself up to date with the recent discussions, I have to say that I’d prefer Fabianski over Mannone. Mannone is Almunia part 2 unfortunately. He has absolutely no presence in the box and makes weird errors. Also, Fabianski is bigger and to me has better reflexes. Szczesny as number 1 and Fabianski as number 2 would be fine. If we’re selling and replacing with BETTER goalkeepers then Almunia, Mannone and possibly Fabianski all out the door for me….
I don’t think we’re going for Goetze. I thought we poached Eisfeld because he was the next best thing so in my opinion, with Jack coming back, we may not need or go for him. Probably was a smoke screen if you ask me. But who knows what’s really happening there…
I also hope Bartley comes back into the first squad. He’s 6’3″and strong, like an English Samba. Seems to have been doing alright at Rangers and before that he did alright at Sheffield United. He can’t be worse than Squillaci.
I hope Lansbury makes it as well, but it looks tough for him considering the way we go through midfielders from season to season.
Bartley eats Scottish strikers for breakfast…

Trev @ 66, heh! π
bt8b, it was a well taken goal but tabs the main man shows us how to do it, on and off like Cesc against Aston Villa, but he got the job done π
*Laffs at Tabs’ series of drinks leading up the century*
Hello fellas
It feels somewhat weird, but looking forward to tonight’s crucial match against the bar codes
3-0? I’m going for a 2-0 with RVP and Walcott to score
tabs,
there is something fundamentally unsettling about a man roaming around an empty football pitch at 2, 3 and 4 in the morning with a hard on.
I hope you had the decency to wear your scarf. π
@ Harsha,
careful with your use of language comrade, you might upset our new pet π
Off for strike&demo, French-style.
Laters.
So this is the time the cool cats log on?
Must make a note π
Is everyone feeling confident of a good performance? No chance of Gervinho being “Bartoned” this time around so I wonder how he’ll do this time if he starts
i’ve got a feeling gervinho might get his revenge for Round 1 when we deserved a pen and a win up norf. Their confidence is down and ours is sky high. 3-0 sounds about right. mines a jimmy and coke barman.
Hello fellas.
Tabs- are you gonna be at the Tollie?
As for last post – I didn’t mean keep everyone happy but the main players you know. I’m pretty sure that if AW wants Jacky to play in the hole but then buys Gotze, one of them will not be the happiest camper.. Just saying like π
As for today, don’t worry, it’s 3 points, I’m going to the game π
Tollie with the holics to finish off the trip.
Can’t get better π
Played ‘holic – glad to hear more good news re the management
Really looking forward to this one, and keeping it all crossed that by the end there’ll be a gap barely worth a mention (ha). Bit of a family affair for me this one – as he/they originally hail from a flock of magpies – so the imbibing of the booze will have to take place on neutral territory – hopefully a small price to pay for a spot of good-natured post game gloating on my part – though they do look a bit like the sort of team set-up to cause us a few probs in the past. But that was long ago before we embarked upon our second resurgence/re-emergence of the season – a fortnight ago. My lot are certainly not as confident as they seemed to be a few weeks back.
Up The Arse!
Phew, I see tabs really kept himself busy through the night π
bstrum@109: Pyles Marmer is a grade A bellend. A Spurs fan writing an Arsenal blog – how can anyone take that seriously?
CoR@128: I don’t rate Mannone either. Rushes things too much and will never be a keeper that can calm a defense down.
I am a bit worried about tonight. We are going to have to produce a performance much closer to the Milan one than the Liverpool one since Newcastle have players who can actually score a goal unlike Liverpool who’d struggle to score in a brothel. NUFC will probably also be fired up to show that they can play well in London so we are going to have to play well to beat them tonight.
Zico @ 133, If Utd11 can say this: “Arsenal are a one man team β stop Robin Van Hire and you stop Arsenal, everybody knows that. Also, if you can get off to a good start against them, the strange little frenchman who manages them starts to have a strop and throw his toys around.” on his site,
Then I will screech ‘Ze Barcodes are coming!’ from the Highrises of London π
For what it’s worth – I see a lot of people wishing Newcastle Utd well above.
Short memories. Alan Pardew is, and always will be, a cunt.
Any club that employs Joey Barton deserves nothing but contempt.
OK “employed” Joey Barton, for you pedants, before you start…..
Morning chaps. Nothing quite like a do-or…be-a-bit-frustrated evening game to look forward to on a Monday eh?
The way we’ve been playing lately, the smart money simply must be on 3 tasty-looking points. Very encouraged by the phoenix-like return of the Little Mozart and seeing him do what he used to: driving forwards with cute passing and chipping in (no pun intended – sorry Brad!) with the odd cheeky goal.
Bring on the end of the day plus the escape from this dump (no I don’t work in Tottingham) and the (mis)management who ‘run’ it!
C-O-Y-G
Pardew is a wind up merchant, he managed to get O’neil lose his cool. Unlike that day with West Ham, I guess Wenger knows very well what in store on the touch line this time around. We really should go for this game a la Milan first half. Show no fear and just go for it right from the start.
@133 Heh, Dr Z. No “May the best team win” bollocks from me, mind.
“May the Arsenal win”. “Always”
Too right Harsha π
BREAKING NEWS:
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/rosicky-signs-new-contract-at-arsenal/
Wind@147, that is good news to me.
Citeh imploding? Mancini says the title depends on the results of the game against United but overall the schedule favors United.
Morning all, decided to wear the Red Sunday best for match-day against the Bar-codes!
GT @65, “Ar$enal” Hee! Hee! Hee! “Let’s be ‘avin ya”!
Tabs, well played mate and a contractual extension is currently in discussion as Dein jnr knows you can’t be swayed left or right!
“He’s a straightforward pro’ that Tabs and he doesn’t need much stimulation to get-up for it” the manager said in his post-match conference! “Everyone likes a hard-man at the club who’s not afraid to stick-it-in there but he needs to watch that 2-foot tackle or he’ll be taking more early baths on his own; which he never likes”! “We need him out there for the full 90 as from what i could see this evening from the technical area, i feel that those very tight-calls from the lines-person Massey would have cum our way had he remained in action for longer”. ” I think he just needed a few more minutes of Fore-ward play till he got a good look and I’m sure his shot would’ve gone all the way in” he later added!!!
Early goal and it’ll be 4 – 1 tonight with a nice boost to the Goal difference! Gerv, Theo, RVP, Ox! Barcodes – Ba Ba Sheep! Lubbly Jubbly!
And to me as well Lars π
Apparently he’s gonna be on 80k/pw, thoughts?
Monday morning Guinness, anyone. It helps with what ails ye. π
Or “Monday Best” more like!!! COYG!
8ball @152, I’ll have some o that!
Wind @151,
Looks like the old wage structures gone?! Probably going to be staggered now as the balance books are getting real healthy! The dross to be dumped in the summer freeing up more cash and RVP to be offered an irresistible and appreciable deal of Β£150,000 /wk + perks/bonuses! Let’s see what Dein jnr and the other parasites do next?! π
Dein Jr would be shitting his bollocks DanC, that’s what he’d do next π
Fecking Cunt.
3-0 should do it tonight
My last moniker failed
Ah there we go.
Onwards and quite literally upwards
Tabs. Wrong profession? And what would that be? Viagra salesman? π
FUCKKKKKKKKKKKK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
97 in Philosophy…
I worked so hard for that test I barely visited the bar when I had that test!!
That should tell you how much I studied!!! π
Going to bring 3 points today π
Well in Snir π
Tabs –
can’t decide whether your early hours work last night was magnificent, mad, or the most outrageous attempt ever at a self-assist.
Probably all three.
zico – agreed. There is something I really can’t stand about Pardew.
I’m going with Tabs’ 3 – 0 tonight and hoping Arsene will grab the little git by the arm to join the celebrations π
Must go now – COME ON REEDDSSSS!!!
Tabs@114: performance enhancing drugs? An early (cold) shower for you, my man.
SG@137: Jack or the Ox at the top of the midfield long term?
My gut says it is going to be a hard earned win today, with all the goals coming late.
Agreed with you NBN in that it won’t be easy and I’m not sure we can pull of a 3-0 although I love the way the table would look if we do pull it off. AOC to get on the scoresheet?
Nice one Snir. Now get back to your desk and start revising for the next one!
Wind @155, π
SG @160, smart finish Plato!!! What’s the meaning of life?
SG @137, Ned @163,
Song/Coquelin = Busquets,
Jacky/Rosicky/(Gotze) = Xavi,
Ox/(Hazard) = Messi.
Sweet!!! π
8ball, NBN – Not to worry… I’m bringing the luck with me.
NBN – Jacky, without a doubt.
Ox is a great player, no doubt about it, but I rate Jack as one of the top 5 midfielders in the world as of now, not to mention in 5 years from now.
Re Trev @162. The self-assist was there for Tabs’ taking but to his credit he pulled out in time to avoid all allegations of malfeasance, Viagra-induced or otherwise. π
DanC – Busquets is an utter cunt, who is the most overrated player in the history of football, and had he not played for Barca, people wouldn’t have even known his cunt of a name…
That fucking cunt.
As for Jacky being the other cunt (Xavi), I disagree because AW has said he wants to make the same process with Jack like he did with Cesc which is to eventually move him up the pitch to play in the hole.
Afternoon fellas’
Holic sir, excellent news regarding your better half, heres hoping for a full recovery.
utd111, nice visit, always a plesure to read what other fans think if they do it in a respectful manner.
Tabs, all that self assisting and still sporting wood? Wow.
Well done Snir. But…..
If there was no one around to read about your triumph, did you triumph at all?
Have fun tonight.
Don’t worry H2H – I triumphed all right…;)
SG @170,
Xavi and Busquets (in particular) are cunts but then so are most of those Cuntalans! With that said, every side tends to have a cunt and you don’t really know you’ve got one, or four, till he’s gone (i refer to peoples’ exhibit A your honour – Manky-Oil!)
Not sure I’d like the side to again be built around another player like Arsene did with Fabregas! We’ve undoubtedly suffered for that early on this season until the lads impressively found their own independent footing again! Cesc had all the eggs in his basket and i’m not sure that Arsene’s going to that again with one player, nevermind Jack who’s undoubtedly going to be a world-class maestro of the middle of the park!
Bt8b@165: not sure Ox will get on the pitch today. Might well be rested; sub at best.
SG@168: I know AW has said that about Wilshere but I wonder if The Ox isn’t emerging as the more likely occupant of that role with Jack being more Viera-like. No one seems to be talking about Ramsey any more, incidentally.
DanC@173: I think you are right. Great teams are built around great units, rather than a great player. Argentina has failed to build a team around even as great a player as Messi; whereas at Barca he is the jewel on the crown. And when we built around Cesc, we struggled mightily when he was out.
NBN – Ramsey is fine to be a squad player for an Arsenal team (and when I say an Arsenal team, I mean a team that would control Europe for years to come).
Jack has to be above him in the pecking order.
DanC – He’s a cunt, and he’s overrated. I wouldn’t pick him for 5-asides… I’m dead serious. He is just not a good player.
As for making the same mistake…
Well, the team changed their focus of play to a more direct play, and playing from the flanks as opposed to last season with Cesc.
You could see that, by the fact that we create chances (and actually have scored more than last season after 27 matches) despite Cesc not playing.
Last season, we struggled to create when Cesc was unavailable.
While I agree that it’s a problem to put everything on Jacky’s shoulders, if we do stay with a more direct approach and add Jacky to that team, then that’s perfect.
Because Jacky, as opposed to Cesc (that is such an advantage over Cesc) has vision, a killer pass, but most importantly, can go past people with ease, something that Cesc was reluctant to do, he wouldn’t pass people, he’d keep possession which is different.
Jacky going past a defender in the middle, would make us drive forward and commit a CB to come up and cover him which would make it easier for RvP to find space.
NBN – I don’t wanna build around Jack, I wanna add Jack.
Sort of Jacky being a plan B if you’d like.
Having a direct game from the flank, and plan B would be Jacky’s drives.
The Cesc-era midfield was probably originally intended to be Cesc-Diaby-Flamini/Song. All fit and in their pomp that would have been a pretty impressive midfield.
SG: no doubt JW is a first choice in any midfield, no matter how it lines up. My thought is that his ability to drive past opponents is more valuable coming from deeper in midfield than from up top. I’ve always thought Gerrard, who is a similar in style to JW, is least effective when he plays on the hole.
NBN – I don’t see Gerrard going past people as much as Jack.
The advantage with Jacky over Cesc, is that he wouldn’t impose his style on the team.
Cesc, would make the team around him, whether he likes it or not, because he delays the play and holds on to the ball for a couple of seconds before he moves it on which makes everything go through him.
Jacky is very decisive, and doesn’t have that holding on to the ball thing (standing), so he’ll spray it to the flanks and our wingers would do what they do now. If he does hold on to the ball, he’ll look to go past people.
The go past people I was talking about is not a gameplan but a plan B when our wingers aren’t getting what we need, so starting going past people from higher up the pitch would be great against parked buses as Jacky would be so close to the 18 yard box, he’d go past people and create holes in the opposition banks of 5 cause someone would have to pick him up once he goes past someone…
RvP’s movement would catch it in a heartbeat and Jacky’s vision would capitalize on that in a heartbeat…
Let’s not be too hard on Ramsey gents. Lest we forget he’s still young and lost an entire year of progress doe to being Shawcrossed. In fact it’s pretty amazing how well he has come back after tangling with that clubfooted mouth breather.
As for LJW, well he just seems to get better the longer he’s out. Don’t get me wrong, I love the lad to bits and I believe he’ll have a great future, but he’s no world beater quite yet is he? Lets not steep to muvh pressure on him with sky high expectations, it may only lead to dissapointment.
Don’t know how they do it, but I have to say the weather was perfect for staying a few hours outside the HQ (nice new HQ just opposite the Eiffel Tower…)
Phonetically connected. I hate the interwebz.
H2H @ 181 – very well said…
Good work on the exams , Snir.
BMBD.
H2H@181: you are right in what you say about Ramsey, and he doesn’t go from carrying the midfield for half a season to a write-off just because the Ox has a couple of good games. I was just struck how absent he was in the discussions above about our future midfields.
SG@180: you are probably too young to remember the young Gerrard, who did surge through the midfield leaving opponents in his wake. The older Gerrard you will have seen plays more with his head and less with his legs.
I am also not as sure that Cesc held the ball up as much as you suggest. He had that characteristic of great players, always seeming to have space around them. Arsenal players always say he could see the pass sooner than any of them.
I see that Rosicky has signed a new deal.
I know a lot of people who will moan (in another place), but personally, I am delighted.
Did you burn any lambs, Ollie? π
Heh Andy Goram. Nah, it was all very peaceful, they hardly had a couple of cops around.
In other news, I know the general mood is good, but personally I am a little apprehensive about tonight. previous two weekends have just been too good.
And I’m watching it in the pub where I watched the Milan away and Sunderland cup games…..
Did i mention that it’s a beautiful sunny day here? 21Β°C!
Only a mere hint of snow here π
heh zico
NBN – you surprise me π
How old do you think I am?
I’ve started following the Arsenal in 95, and football in 91 which is before Gerrard’s career.
I didn’t write AR off, I just don’t think he’s as talented as Jacky and AW is hoping to put Jacky in the hole, which is where AR was meant to be this season.
Good day Holic and Holics. ‘Attitude’, Holic, most assuredly will play a pivotal role in today’s match. Arteta had this to say, “When you ‘re scared to lose you never give 100% of your qualities”. A most revealing glimpse into an athlete’s psyche. So lads respect Newcastle United today while never forgetting just how special you really are.
And don’t forget : Alan Pardew is a c………..oconut.
Treating myself to an early departure from work so I can get well and truly situated in my local saloon.
Guinness and Arsenal, a combination to die for.
COYRRRs. 8)
Makes sure that TABS is no where to be seen and then puts the ball out to the wing…
A powerfull header forward…
Traps the ball, swivels and curves an arcing ball towards the right side of the box.
Brings the ball down, shimmies and passes back towards the penalty spot.
Takes one step toward the goal and another toward the pub…..
Magic feet
Heads pint in.
*ouch*
Magic indeed, H2H.
H2H well in…….. good team goal unlike last night….
Runs to acknowledge the crowd, jumps over the hoardings, sprints straight up to the refreshment area to pick up a round of the good stuff for the assisters, Zico. Bath, Ollie and Upper.
Now that’s a celebration. π
SG @176,
I do agree, he is the cuntiest of cunts and is very average as the whole Cuntalan’s defensive grouping and keepers are (with the exception of Abidal whom i do rate)! I don’t include Alves in their back-line as he’s not really a defender and more of a right midfielder that runs back every now and then! However he is the second biggest cuntiest of cunts!
Wrt to Jacky-boy, i agree that he has more in his Arsenal than Fabregas ever will have as was clearly evident in both legs against the Cuntalans in last season’s CL – the only Gunner that could have played in their midfield without any bother!
Intelligent, one-touch passing and quickness of feet that unbalances the nearby opponent and opens-up space; aligned with a constant eye for a forward pass – deadly young player in the offing!
If you were to combine two players to make our Jack; for me it would be Fabregas (of course) and Abou Diaby! He’s not as sharp over 5 yards as Rosicky (who can also slip-away from opponents as he’s once again showing when fully fit) but is as slippery as Diaby. Fabregas was great for us but Jack will be far better because of his quickness of foot and ability to slip-away from his nearby opponents. Whether he’s a plan B, i wouldn’t say that exactly but he’s certainly a creative juggernaut that will undoubtedly benefit the midlfield and attack no matter how we want to play!
Ned @179,
i’d say that Jack will be more like Xavi than Cesc ever will be because Xavi can also beat the first man. Jack’s not quite like Gerrard as he’s more adept in tighter areas of play which the Scouser isn’t! Gerrard’s all about strength and drive from deep so that’s where the similarity in position might exist but Gerrard’s not as tricky or slippery to handle! Ramsey is more likely to become a Gerrard when he relaxes and controls his game.
The purchase of Gotze will give our squad the “player in the hole” that we’re looking for as he’s alot like Sneijder is for Milan and the Dutch! Rosicky can play that role if required too and i too and delighted he’s signed-up for another couple of years at least!
Magic feet H2H.
Nice work, gents….here’s to a few more like that for us tonight.
Slainte
Some head on that pint, Ollie π
He finishes his warm-up and starts peeling off his snood and tracksuit. His eyes glance over to the manager……could this be another Tevez moment on the cards?!!! :-/
Just as I was about to leave, I get a call, bah!
I threw the letters A L A N P A R D E W into a hat and they came back out
RED WAR PLAN
I tried again, and they came out
CUNT
Quite looking forward to the match tonight, should be a great atmos! COYG! 3rd place and the fat-lady to usher in St Totteringham’s Day has started gargling and warming-up in her dressing room! Gargle! Gargle! La! La! La!
You on Countdown soon, Dr Z?
Well, I’m off before anybody else calls me or sends me any e-mail.
Heh, only if they hold it in the pub, Ollie
We’ll get tabs to organise it.
Well in, H2H. A Magic Hat to celebrate your magic feet, for all who’d like one.
SG@191: you are as young as you want to be.
DanC@205: JW and Cesc are different players, no doubt. Gerrard is in the twilight of his career so we can put him behind us.
Here’s to three points against Newcastle. Onwards and upwards.
Afternoon all , just a flying visit , thank you all for your kind (and not so kind) words π
Excellent team work on the goal and well in H2H . π
Dr Z @132 – Scarf always in place . π
DanC @150 – heh π
Snir – Congratulations on the exam result .
Trev @162 – Magnificent ? Unlikely . Mad ? Almost certainly ! Self-assisting ? Certainly not Sir . π
Lots of good stuff above about the No.10 role . My view would be that Jack will in time adapt to the role , but agree with H2H , he is not there yet and a degree of patience will be required when he returns from his injury . Not sure Aaron is suited to the role , I see his boundless energy and commitment as more suited to the box to box player . TR7 has of course done very well there recently and hats off to him . I , for one , have been surprised by his excellence , and am very pleased he is staying .
Issues still remain however about how many games he can play on the bounce , and that coupled with the long term injuries to Jack and Diaby means I will be disappointed if we don’t add a real talent to the squad in this area in the summer .
@210 P A R D E W = W A R P E D .
All those going tonight have a great one . Wherever you may be watching , enjoy the game . 3-0 still sounds good to me .
A round of drinks for All .
Good luck everyone .
COME ON THE ARSENAL !!!!!!!1
H2H, magic @ 200 indeed, I hear the Junior Gunners were amazed π Good footwork from Zico as well with the assist, the very definition of two birds with one stone π
DanC @ 208, the attacking move passed you by mate, more work needed on your fitness me thinks π
Cesc is at the Grove tonight.
You can take the boy out of Arsenal, but…
Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Song, Arteta, Rosicky, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Van Persie
bench: Fabianski, Djourou, Santos, Ramsey, Benayoun, Gervinho, Chamakh
Liking that selection.
COYRs
GO WIN
Looking good to me too, ‘Holic.
COYRRR’s
Enjoyed a pre-match warmup of the highlights of Everton 1 Tiny Spudniks 0.
Come on Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As ‘Holic said last night:
ATTITUDE, ATTITUDE, ATTITUDE!
Get it right on AND off the ball and the rest will follow.
Evening gents, Cautiously optimistic. Newcastle have gone 451 to contain and break. Hope everybody is patient.
bt8b: The Ox starts. So what do I know? π
Right lads, enjoy.
I’ll be watching in from the bar, which is filling up, so bye for now.
Come on you gunners.
Really looking forward to this one…just to think a month ago it looked like being a long and painful final end to the season. Then of course I moved back to California and you know the rest. It might take an hour to get this one in order but 3-1 with goals from the back and midfield plus you know who. Come on you reds…
So barcode time is it?
Greetings Holics – just turned on tv and the bulgarians are analysing the 2 sides – looks very interesting – just wish I could understand what they are saying
Oooh they are analysing some victory against LWC – still looks good

Evening fellow Holics and the landlord himself!
For those who’ve seen the first half (only heard it on 5live myself…) can you confirm whether we look like up for it?
Do you think we look like we’ve got the spunk in us (calm down Wolfie) to turn them over?
Keep your nerve, lads.
Lonestar – we can dream, we can dream…
Oh yeh, and now that my dinner’s on the table…anyone got a stream??
Howard Webb is a disgrace.. Best ref in the EPL?? Well that tells you all about the level of referees if this blind ass is the best .
RVP to smash Tim Krul along with the ball for the winner??
COYG
My other half saw that I wanted to watch the game, so she’s taken over the bar (bless her)
We seemed to quieten down after a lively start, I think they are there for the taking If we can keep the pressure on.

You’ve done us proud tonight.
Fuck em!!
You. Effin. BEAUTY!!!
The LWCs have gone beyond shitting themselves. It’s down the proctologist to have that worrying prolapse looked at.
Kings of London.
Get in!
We’re behind you
That was Krul. ha ha ha ha.
Gary Neville loves the Arsenal – who wudda thunk it?!?!
that’s the ticket. what determination at the end. beautifully played, and a totally deserved victory. attitude, attitude, attidude, indeed. thank you, arsenal!
what’s that disturbance in the force? it’s the sound of a few hundred thousand LWC toilets flushing and flushing and flushing again…
Yes lads, very SPECIAL indeed, me thinks. You never gave up…thank you.
321 Scruz.
Since when do they have indoor plumbing in N17?
Well in, H2H.
I said in my @164 that the goals would come late. The one that mattered certainly did. But Tommy V was there just in time.
What was all this agro between Krul and RvP? I know Dutch players traditionally can’t avoid fighting with each other, but there didn’t seem anything to set this off. Also, anyone know the RvP yellow card tally? Wouldn’t want him missing games through suspension in the run in.
It’s California I tell you….
The future’s bright.
Well played lads – so proud and happy.
Gonna get well and truly bladdered. 8)
We showed the mentality of fighters all right.
Tim@325: Just don’t move.
Wenger out? I think not….this club have something special (us for a start)
That is what I am talking about.
barcodes have been Verminated.
Serves the time wasting mofos right.
FOYS the Reds are coming for the third spot.

Feo had his best match for us yet despite not scoring this time.
lol@h2h…true, true.
tim, from north to south, and south to north, it’s california…it’s ARSENAL!
Both my daughters are taking the piss out of me…apparently when Vermaelin’s goal went in I was like: YES YES YES YES Yes Yes Yes yes yes yes yes..(pant) y-e-s..some day they too will understand what sexual ecstasy feels like…
H2H – Exactly mate! Well said.
Factoid: The Arsenal are the first English team in history to come from behind and win four (4) games in a row….lubberlie
@ 331bathgooner: True that. Theo was brilliant throughout, 2 assists, and his decision making was spot on for most of the match which generally is his biggest flaw imo.
My MOTM.
GT – Awesome fact, awesome.
come on boys! st. totteringham’s day is on!
@ 335GoonerTerry: WOW. Talk of mental strength eh.
And oh lest i forget: Fuck you Pardew, once a cunt ….
Tim: I love you bro…whatever it takes please stay put in California. Even if you hate the sunshine, the beaches and dem blonds in skimpy shorts and the weed, and…WAIT a minute – you lucky bastard!
How good is Koscielny now? What a player….what a win…so bloody pleased for Rosicky also…another great shift
Just to change subject – on bbc site
Did you know? Miyaichi created seven goalscoring chances (including one assist). There have only been three instances of more in an entire Premier League season.
The hand bags between Krul and RvP reminded me of a little chippiness TH14 had with the Wigan goalie awhile back. Krul was wasting time from early in the first half and I think RvP took exception to that and let him know it. I guarantee RvP said something to him as he was walking back after the Verminator’s goal and Krul rushed out to confront him. A little “see where all your time wasting got you (insert Dutch insult here)?” seemed appropriate to me in the situation.
Lesson in playing Arsenal… Don’t Score First!!!
Pardew called s a ‘tough team’. It’s been a long time since we were regarded as a tough team.
ATTITUDE ATTITUDE ATTITUDE, as the man said.
343 Bearded.
He probably said;
“Dat is je verdiende loon, kut lul.”
Love the passion of the captain, actually the spirit throughout the team.
H2H my google translator tells me you are spot on.
Is it just me or did anyone else notice that during this past two months when the chips have really been down that the home support has markedly improved? Although it is clear that the attendance has dropped compared to the start of the season.. Maybe only hardcore Gooners bothering to attend?
That 13 plus Podolski, Frimpong, Le Coq, Ryo, Jenkinson, Gotze, BFG, Santos, Hartmann, Diaby, Wilshere, Fabianski, Afobe, Djourou, Miquel
Too much to ponder! Theo and Rosicky best ever games tonight. Ramsey a powerhouse.
If I read one more word about the transfer mismanagement of last summer, I will have only one word with which to respond. Ox.
…which means?
SlaSH, during the past two months our resident moaning minnies have been markedly absent from this bar too.
“Sing when we’re losing – they only sing when we’re losing”.
The home support was magnificent tonight on the level the traveling support has been on all year. Don’t think the Captain’s words before the game hurt in that regard. Also seeing Santos jumping around like a school boy and hugging the Boss after the goal was beautiful. He was the first sub on the field hugging everyone after the final whistle too. There is an incredible spirit running through this team.
Hey BtM – appetite whetted for Saturday week?
We’ve got grit and determination to match our speed and finesse, and that’s not a bad combination to have. The kind of performance at a critical time we would not have gotten in recent seasons. Hard work paying off!!! π
350 Camberwell.
Loosely translated it’s; ΓΏou got what you deserve, cunt prick.

fellover – you might want to watch your use of the “Y” word ’round these parts.
Scores when he wants…
Scores when he waaaannnttsss….
Robin van Persie,
He scores when he wants.
BMBD.
Newcastle really did have a very bad second half, didn’t they? I wonder if thir players are starting to get tired after a long season.
Not to say that we didn’t earn it and made our own luck. Superb game by the team. Ramsey looked good as well, something I enjoy to see, have high hopes for the lad, and like to see him getting the minutes he needs to get better, even if I’d not start him ahead of Rosicky on current form.
Walcott had a great game, the Ox is coming on fast. Not the finished article by any means but he is already a premier league player, I’m so looking forward to seeing him in the future.
Vermaelen… Get in.
Tim Krul, lost a lot of respect for him tonight, Pardew’s inherent cuntishness must be affecting him like Electromagnetic Radiation, hopefully he’ll fix up sometime soon.
But what a performance, can’t wait to watch the 12 min highlights tomorrow when they come out, wish I could of watched it as live, but the combined effect of Arseblog Liveblog/Twitter/Blackberry Messenger kept me in the know and sane π
Watch out with the Y word mate, not acceptable here.

It`d be better if you identify the last group with a more fitting name, such as LWC`s, fellovergen. Excellent night indeed.

Belgium’s finest to the rescue, happy days!
Fuck you Krul, fuck you Pardew, Tom Vermaelen, number 5!
Goodnight, folks, sweet dreams!
Fantastic desire shown by the lads.
Newcastle throw-in in the corner – 94 mins on the clock…. We press and win the ball… It’s moved forward into the centre of the pitch – Song takes it on, over the centre circle – knocks it wide to Theo… I look down and see a wave of Red shirts swarming into the Newcastle box – Theo knocks it in – oh shit RvP and Aaron collide… But no! It’s falling slowly out of the air… And in comes Tommy V!!!!!!
Get feckin’ in.
That’s desire.
Nice comeback fellovergen

Night Ollie.
Amazing night.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I am greatly preferring watching this year’s team to last year’s XI, who you always get would bottle it when the chips were down (bar the barca games).
God knows how the manager and players have engineered this turnaround. Six months ago I was about ready to throw myself under a tube, now I’m dancing on the ceiling. Wenger may not have spent in Jan but he obviously located a rather large pair of cojones for the squad. And it’s been a while since we’ve had those.
Lots of top performances all round tonight, but Theo and Rosicky deserve special mention. We finally have our little Mozart back.
Starting to dream of a title push next year. Bring in Podolski and the little German genius, keep the three we need to keep this summer, ship out some more deadwood and the future looks rosey.
I’ll close with a tip of the hat for the gaffer. He may do things the hard way. He may be infuriating at times. But he quite clearly knows. More than most other managers. More than the moany cunts who slate him online. Robin Van Persie: Β£2.75m. Kos, a world class CB for Β£7m. Keeping faith in Song. Bringing in the Ox. The man is a fucking great manager and I hope he stays with us until the day he retires.
I just cant believe how immense the spirit has become throughout the squad and the club! Cracking!!!
As a matter of fact, I do score when I want!
But how many of us panicked as we saw that final cross heading towards Gervhino’s semi-cocked foot?…. thank f Mr V got there first
A hearty vintage malt before retiring please, Bar-keep! Salut!!!
It’s late here in Stockholm so back-drinking will have to wait until tomorrow, but fuck me was that a sweet, sweet victory! So happy to see all the hard work rewarded with three points, and we really did deserve it. Newcastle were awfully negative, I have to say suprisingly so.
But who gives a fuck, we won it!
That old Arsenal never-say-die spirit may just be coming back. Watching those goals again = they just get better ‘n better.
Commitment, power, pace, teamwork, skill, guts and the sheer bloodymindedness never to give in.
We are THE ARSENAL we NEVER SURRENDER!!!!!!!!!
Yeeeeeeeeeeeha!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I really hope the players don’t take their foot of the gas, still lots to play for. a Fantastic win but they have to put their mind on the next game.
