Thierry Henry, Lonely At The Top: A Review
Nov 7th, 2012 by 'holic
Think you have read everything about Thierry Henry? Think again. The release of Philippe Auclair’s biography provides 336 pages that build slowly into a tome that grips, defies you to put it down.
It is not your typical life story sprinkled with stardust. This is a ‘warts and all’ journey through the life of one of the most remarkable men ever to pull on the red of Arsenal and the blue of France. It provides the background to the selfish and spiky nature of the man himself as well as charting his progress from childhood prodigy, driven by his father, to the very top of the game.
At both ends of the book there is reference to the 2010 World Cup, and Thierry’s contribution both in qualifying and in the aftermath of the striking French controversy. Thierry as villain is there along with all of the moments when he was clearly anything but. Relive the World Cup and European Championship medals, his patchy form with Monaco and failure at Juve before his blossoming under Arsene Wenger.
“Few modern footballers progress from miscast to top of the bill as swiftly as Henry.”
The double in 2002, the invincibles in 2004, the record-breaking goalscoring exploits, all are presented from numerous interviews, trustworthy sources, and Philippe’s own personal observations and recollections.
The triumphs are well chronicled, as is the parting of the ways when Titi moved to Barcelona. There is a moment as you reach the end of the journey that you feel down that the tale will end in sadness in the aftermath of that 2010 World Cup. Luckily we know there is a postscript to all this. The return of the King and that goal against Leeds United. You leave the final page exhausted, but lifted.
At the end you should have a better understanding of the nature of the genius, and perhaps some of the reasons for his moods, and the infamous Henry glare. You will also have a comprehensive record of a player who inspired never ending love and devotion at Highbury and the Grove. A true legend it was a privilege to witness in his pomp.
It isn’t what I expected at all, and it is all the better and more informative for that. Thank you Philippe.
So Who Has Won A Copy?
The management has pulled the infamous packs of ‘holic cards out to reveal Jonathan Hausmann as the winner. Congratulations Jonathan. The book will be in the post tomorrow lunchtime.
Jonathan correctly identified our friends and neighbours as the visiting fans in front of whom Thierry was celebrating one of the all time great Arsenal goals after running the length of Highbury.
The book is published on Thursday, so tomorrow/today/yesterday depending on where you are and when. Those looking for a cracking Christmas read can buy the book by clicking on the Amazon link in the sidebar. You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you all for your entries and kind words. Come back on Friday evening for the Fulham preview.
Cheers ‘holics.

Thired?
Congratulations Jonathon, damn you ๐
Oh, Seconed then
Congratulations Johnathon, although I think that a recount is in order!
I take it that Philippe Auclair book is in French, right? ๐
I didn’t even have a chance to compete for that book, the competition was badly timed (or too short) for the travelling Gooners ๐
Cut off in the last drinks again. This cannot be coincidence, FACT !!!!!!!
And i go forth too. congrats to mr. Hausmann. Sounds a decent read ‘h, ta.
Sounds like a great read, ‘holic
=====
Trev, from previous drinks.
I indeed remember when we were “interested” in Will-I-an. I thought it had more to do with the fact that we’d played Shaged her Donuts (or whatever they’re called) a few times more then any real interest. He seems to be chumy with AvB and has confessed a love for the Chavs lately, so we can’t be having any of that.
ps I too thought TV was well below par (again) yesterday, highlighted by my “trouble on the left” thingymibit.
heh Trev. And you wouldn’t have been a lone voice if I’d been around ๐
Mmm, THAT goal against Leeds in January… what a night that was.
Off to Amazon it is then – via the link, of course.
The competition was rigged, clearly. ๐
A hanging chad?
Voter intimidation?
Ballot box stuffing?
Bah, I guess I’ll have to buy it to read on the plane.
Congrats to the winner.
Unlucky Trev (psed when you write it like that it sorta sounds not unlike F*cked, no? apt – FACT!!!)
Trev, I could have sworn I commented on Vermaelen as well but maybe I forgot it. In any case I agree, he was bloody awful. He needs to find his form again pretty sharpish.
Lars going a little G. Neville @ 12 there???
H2H – heh at the Donuts pun. ๐
I still think I have a chance,
I’m still waiting for Florida to come in. ๐
By the way, the question in 6 is not completely silly.
The book is published on Thursday, so tomorrow/today/yesterday depending on where you are and when.
Is the original version in French (and if so, was it out already? Or published at the same time in French and English?) ?
It’s very reasonably priced at Amazon, Ollie ๐
Good trip?
Lars @16 – no, I think you just swore. ๐
Oh bollocks, I thought the Bus Stop did 2-2 but I’ve just seen the cunts have score a last minute goal.
Gutted. You know, if it had been a choice, I’d rather Barรงa won and Cuntski lost …..
Oh, and the version I have is most definitely in English. In fact, according to Brian Glanville on the flycover, Philippe’s “English puts most native writers to shame”.
Amazon suggests the book is only English. I say weird.
Yep, ‘holic. Excellent trip, not so good for the head and the liver.
Copious amounts of alcohol were ingested, and mahoosive amounts of chanting was done.
Gelsenkirchen is a bit of a shithole though (are they the Spurs of the Ruhr Valley?), town is dead, stadium miles out, and well, the atmosphere isn’t quite Dortmund either.
Drinks were incredibly cheap though ๐
AL@17, that Neville moment was nothing compared to Henry’s goal ๐
Trev: what? I never fucking swea… oh.
When you read it Ollie I suspect you will appreciate they might not have considered that it would sell well in France.
You’ll love this Ollie –
In the press yesterday: ” Abramovich will not be held to ransom over Willian, and is refusing to pay the ยฃ45million asking fee.”
Well Roman, who was it that started driving transfer fees up to bonkers levels. What a twat. Clearly he thought Torres at ยฃ50 million was a bargain then.
Watched Shaktar (at times) shredding that lot tonight. Good team, good game.
psed – don’t like knocking our own, but agree: TV don’t seem all that switched on at the mo. Is even losing aerial battles. Sometimes more use to the other side just now. Maybe doing the programme notes is taking it out of him. And he needs to forget working the channels going forward, or risk being dropped – which might then shatter his confidence of course. Watch this space, i reckon.
AL,
Funny how TV can’t win an aerial battle. ๐
Sorry, just realised you already had that one. ๐
And one or two others…..
Nice one Holic. We all know the triumphs, but I’d be interested to read about the “dark side”.
My old seat was in the East stand at Highbury, so I had a pretty good view of some of those looks Thierry used to give Reyes, when we were attacking the Clock End. “Cold” doesn’t do them justice, they made me flinch many rows back. I know Reyes didn’t always help himself, but Thierry’s treatment pretty much ruined him at Arsenal imo. All stemmed from that incident with the Spanish manager I think.
Reckon that hits the, ermm – button Trev
Imagine my confusion, when the first words my eyes focus on are ‘warts and all’. Just woke up. Sounds like a very interesting tale, Holic. Where you get the time to read, is beyond me ๐ Anyway, quick shout out to our latest birthday boy, the esteemed Rev. Al ๐ Ollie, glad you’re back at the bar, you are our ‘jukebox’ ๐ Trev, from last set of drinks, agree that Arteta playing forward might add some spice. And congrats to Jonathon (who are you?! ๐ Nite everyone!
Heh at Trev.
In midfield he might be good at screening the back four though. He could also setallite our forwards and would have occasional license to join in.
And And’ ๐
Heh, AL out-Trevs Trev in the puns department ๐
Trev bounces back with a quickfire hattrick – a master craftsman always punning above his weight…
Ta Nurse
OK, ‘holic 29, I think it’s a sale ๐
I shall get ordering maybe tomorrow.
Trev, 28, heh, he’s ‘avinalaff, isn’t he?
Trev.
setallite our forwards
Arsenal or arsonist?
Superb punning, Trev.
And now, excuse me, but I have to switch off.
Hello abb, being a speed-reader helps when something that big pops through the letterbox ๐
Clearly ‘arsonist’ H2H, that’s why it was a quickfire hattrick.
@43 – ooohh, really !
Ken Dodd: What a lovely day for sticking a cucumber through the vicar’s letterbox and calling out “The Martians have landed”
Don’t mind me
Well saved Trev, extinguished any chance I had of catching you out.
Reminds me of the old Ludo Llandudno joke.
“Kelly Smith scored a hat-trick as Arsenal reached the Women’s Champions League quarter-finals with a 4-3 win in Potsdam, giving them a 6-4 aggregate victory.”
Woo and yay.
AL heh!
My favourite Ken Dodd:
” What a lovely day for shoving a broom handle up Michael Schumacher’s trousers and saying, ‘how’s that for pole position?’ “
What’s Nonny talking about ? ๐
Ludo Llandudno? Used to present Panorama, wrote a book called 10 Rilington Place ๐
So confused. If you go on the Merican amazon site you can not order the book for kindle reading. Only on the UK site can you order the kindle version. Wonder if I can sign on to the UK site with my American ID.
Weird
Nope. Gotta get a amazonUK account.
Can’t we all just get along.
You should be able to use the same login on both but maybe the Kindle version of the book is region specific? They might not be able to sell it outside Europe.
Happy with the election result NorCal..?
Nonny, the old Ludo Llandudno joke still stands up well…
Joe,
Meh, don’t really like either of our choices. Our political system is very screwed up right now. Too polarized. It’s either the far left or far right. I’m a more middle of the road kinda guy. Agree with some issues on both sides. However, our two parties have decided not to play nice with each other so all we get is arguing and lots of inaction to the detriment of everyone. Lets just hope that changes and we get a functioning federal government.
Latest rumor: Lonestar to Celtic. You heard it here first โฆ
There should be zero tolerance of Spuds is what I always say, for many reasons but including:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20244204
There were 10 Tottenham points in the gap…
Back to the grindstone.
I think today will be a tough day.
Blimey it’s ridiculous, there are Tx tickets in nearly every block for the Fulham game.
Week leading to the game again. Perhaps in the future I should always book travel and wait until two days before a game to get a tickets. Slightly risky mabye.
Far left? Who the hell is far left in the British political system?
Is California in Britain now? :s
Dennis Skinner
Politics killed chat ๐
Just posted the prize. Was hoping a Tollie ‘holic might win it so I could just bring it up the pub ๐
I’m up for a redraw ‘Holic ๐
I see Jack’s been picked for England.
Had hoped that with Hodgson in charge there might have been more common sense used. A forlorn hope it seems.
I’ll be interested to see what the outcome of this “Y” word stuff is down at the Marshlands.
Are we getting nearer to the day when half the ground are arrested on race charges?
How I would laugh!
Don’t be surprised if Arsene misses his weekly presser. Comet are having their fire sale starting today and he needs a new telly
Interesting to see where Theo stacks up in our all-time goalscoring ranks.
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/45767/behind-the-numbers-
Turns out we have a home fixture against Fulham coming up on Saturday at 3pm. Fairly routine, it sounds like. What could go wrong this time? ๐
Poor Merse, forever stuck on 99 goals.
Kos and Giroud in, no Sagna in France squad.
99 is a pretty cool number though, Nonny.
Hehe yeah, its cool number and sucks in both ways, for example, prolly best czech player of last two decades – Pavel Nedved, got stuck on 99 career goals total too, not that shabby for midfielder though hehe.
Blimey, Barack Obama a left-winger … who knew – sign ‘im up! (Bet he’ll end up wanting to play through the centre too – like the rest of ’em apparently do.)
So as other teams are developing the false 9 thing, to keep everybody happy (or at least those that want to play up top) is poor old AW gonna have to develop The Force 9 thing – whereby a small team within the team take up the centre-forward position #PipeDownAndGetOnWithTheJobOfWinningGamesForArsenalLads
AL. Obama sounds like a real find. His name has the ring of a winner, kind of like Diakite and those other African hidden gems. ๐
Re: NorCal @59. A middle of the road kinda guy? In the context of Northern California politics we could make you out to be nothing short of an extreme right winger with statements like that. Are you only timidly in favor of legalizing pot then? ๐
Was that John Terry I saw behind Obama celebrating his victory?
H2H. Show us the picture and I’ll give you my expert opinion but I imagine you’re talking about JB2, which for the uninitiated refers to Joe Biden.
I’d like to see Vermaelen tried out as a central attacker.
No, I’m not joking. Think about it – he’s got pretty much every ability you want from a centre-forward. Big, strong, quite a fast runner, good in the air, has a good shot and does seem to have an eye for finding scoring opportunities.
Here, here AL.
===========
Who let the pimp in?
(Although he’ll probably be gone by the time some of you read this.)
Heh 8Ball.
Does Joe Biden wear shinpads under his suit?
Maybe that will help the penny drop ๐
Lars, he certainly tucked away that one Tuesday night well enough. ๐
Ok. I hate politics. Next topic?
Marijuana has been “legal” here for decades.
Obama plays basketball. I hear he does have a sweet shot.
Roll on Saturday!
I see H2H beat me to what I was going to say ๐
Does Kimberly travel to Penge?
H2H@86 (soon to be 85) – heh, he sure did ๐
We on that same wave length thingy again Ollie? ๐
NorCal.
Legal drugs?
I can’t imagine living in a country that would condone such a thing….
Oh, wait……
There was some fine chanting in Kรถnig City in Gelsenkirchen.
In fact, I’m still buzzing from it.
Jenkinson picked for England squad after FIFA clearance comes through.
Do you mean there wasn’t the right number of players in the initial list and no-one noticed, Nonny? :s
Can only be good for Jenks in terms of game time now that’s Sagna’s back I think Nonny, only 2 more CL Tuesday/Wednesday matchdays left that can happen after a Saturday/Sunday game so the need for rotation between him & Sagna will lessen, don’t want Carl losing the form he gained over the last few months & a friendly would be a great start for his England Career as he starts out at 3rd choice right-back or so.
But if Hodgson leaves Jack on for the full 90… ๐ก
Or rather than making a website-style headline (hits coming your way!) , are you just highlighting that he CAN’T be selected now as that clearance hasn’t come through?
Ollie, are you sorted for Spu*s yet?
Given what I said above, I think you could have a wide selection sometime next week.
Or I’ll pick a cheaper one and give you my ยฃ90 one ๐
Ollie? I meant Wind, heh.
I think I was just reading the name at the top of the previous post.
Definitely not recovered yet….but I can still assist.
Bam
New Goal
NorCal, I think you are celebrating early – the Dubious Drinks panel will remove drink #78 in a while so…
Goal!
NorCal nice goal.
Oh wait, Ollie nice assist.
Was it just alcohol in Germany, Ollie?
๐
A touch of the Andy Gorams there, Ollie? ๐
Lars knows. ๐
Oh crap, took too long to get the shot away so H2H got the goal!
Lars knows again. ๐
Lars, you are probably right.
*puts shirt back on, slides backwards away from corner flag*
Nice goal H2H
Nice assist NORCAL ๐
heh H2H 103, I was thinking that ๐
*puts tinfoil hat on*
Ahh crap, thought I’ve have plenty of time for the Century! Pro assist as usual Ollie, and well in NorCal, this bodes well for 2 weeks wednesday eh? ๐ Well played also H2H ๐
Ollie @ 97/98, I’m not sorted yet :(, I saw your drink about the swathes of tickets in all four Ends for Arsenal vs Fulham and I’m wondering what the best course of action would be now, take you up on your offer or wait until after the Fulham game to see what appears. A win may result in less, a draw or loss in more, no idea but still hoping for a home win this Saturday! I know the cheapest is ยฃ62 for the game but the odds of that showing up on Ticket exchange are quite low I would say, appreciate the ยฃ90 offer if you’re sincere ;), I’ll e-mail Clive and see what he thinks and get back to you ๐
I missed drink 78. Now I see I didn’t assist though, so no Andy Gorams, good goal H2H.
Some blazing passing move, didn’t see it, good assist NCA.
I’d say the hope of tickets is high, including ยฃ62, judging by the general Tx pattern.
I think you misread my offer though: it is still conditional to me finding another ticket which I expect to be able to. It’s just that my travel is sorted, so I cannot completely gamble on last week Tx, whereas I suspect you travelling to the game can be arranged at shorter notice ๐
NorCal was robbed! ๐
Unlucky mate, you scored in spirit [and a 5-10 minute period of time before the former #78 was removed ๐ ] & ended up with a nice assist ๐
Or maybe… H2H used intense Observation & anticipation to go for in this case, the real glory ‘tabs’ goal… 8)
78 magically disapeared.

M’Vila suspended from France team until June 2014…
Very well played H2H. I noticed the dubious post on my back drink and thought it was strange that it was there but then forgot about it. My zeal for all the glory clouded my thinking. That and the fact that Ollie had gone completely Bonkers. I will accept the fact that you poached my well struck shot.
I like to see it as a team effort NorCal. ๐
Have a drink on my tab as consalation.
Yes. Actually I think we could field quite an international team from the members of this bar. The paperwork to get us all registered might be a sticking point. ๐
Cheers.
Ollie @ 112, I’ll e-mail it to Clive as a potential avenue for a ticket then ๐
Blimey, Bellion just scored for Bordeaux. Heh and Hooray!
Ollie@115: so it seems Arsene was completely right when he didn’t want anything to do with M’Vila then.
Or Mbaye Niang, Lars. He along with the other two got banned, but ‘only’ until December 2012. I’m guessing they wanted to make more of an example of M’Vila as he had already played for the As and was supposed to be exemplary leading the U21s.
Sorry, December 2013….
Looks like Barton scored for Marseille.
Ollie,
Even a blind c*nt finds a goal some time.
No internationals til June 2014 ?
Excellent, sign him up ! ๐
Bordeaux win. Er, so that maintains a chance of playing them in League Europa next spring…. :s
Blimey, it’s dead here tonight.
Ollie, I would have thought you would be in a deep recovery coma after your trip to Gelsenkirchen.
I should be, really. But being at work today has brought back some normality.
Good thing I didn’t have anything to drink yesterday.
Are you about on Saturday?
Yep. Will certainly make the Tollie after. Not sure if I can get there before – will try. You?
Not winning the prize causes mass walk-out ๐
Heh, Holic.
What’s your tipple the night, guidman?
Believe it or not I’m on the Grouse, bath.
Can’t drink the good stuff all the time, and still snobbishly recall drinking this before it headed south big-time. Used to have a mate who was a Kilmarnock fan who used to send us bottles down over thirty years ago.
I’m claiming credit for increasing UK sales in the seventies and eighties single-handedly ๐
‘Holic ,
How’s that recount going. Have I won yet?
No? Keep counting. ๐
Remember, I offered to pick it up at the Tollie.
“Martin Jol says Arsenal cannot expect to win trophies regularly”
Or, indeed, at all. ๐
It’s quieter than a fart in space in here.
Heh.
It’s from the same stable as the Macallan and Highland Park and has a respectable proportion of each.
It’s my mother’s favourite tipple though she now does tend to buy the best deal at Morrisons ๐
WoB and I are still working on the bottle of Benromach Peat Smoke we bought in Moffat on the way south from my reunion in October. Need to find another source. It’s damn fine.
“NorCalArsenal says Martin Jol can expect to be called a putz regularly”
๐
I hope that Arsene sticks the source of that comment on the dressing room notice board for Saturday but suspect it’s not his style.
heh ‘holic 132 :s
I should be about at 1pm, baff, transport permitting.
Given what happened yesterday, anything seems possible with RER B and all the lines that used the part just north of Gare Du Nord, including Eurostar.
I will be missing on Saturday as it is the management’s birthday.
Normal service will be resumed for the North London derby, when I intend to use the sort of language that tv chefs use when a mate gets a mildly critical review on an amateur blog…
Happy birthday to Le Management.
heh ‘holic.
I have a bad feeling on travel on the day of that derby game. Hopefully it’s just a bad feeling.
Hope there’s no snow forecast ๐
She should have two birthdays a year, like the Queen, so if one falls on a Saturday you can ignore it
Ollie. If I were a minimally competent reader of French, I would be able to tell you why M’Vila is suspended from the France team until June 2014, but since I’m not I’ll just paste the Google Translate version of the article here. I’m taking it that mileu field Rennes means the Rennes midfielder, but I’m not really sure about that one.
“Heard Thursday morning by the Disciplinary Committee of the French Federation after their night out at the last meeting of the France team Hopes in October, Yann M’Vila (Rennes), Chris Mavinga (Rennes), Antoine Griezmann (Real Sociedad, ESP), Wissam Ben Yedder (Toulouse) and Mbaye Niang (Milan, ITA) have not been spared.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon, the FFF announced sanctions. “Ben Yedder, Griezmann, Mavinga and Niang are suspended from all national teams selections starting Monday, November 12, 2012 until Tuesday, December 31, 2013, reads. Yann M’Vila is suspended from all national teams selections as of Monday, November 12, 2012 until Monday, June 30, 2014. “Suffice to say that participation in the next World Cup in Brazil appears severely compromised for mileu field Rennes …”
It’s very rare that a Google Translated article doesn’t lead to funny things, but this one is quite intelligible, heh!
Drinking Grouse as well here for the first time in years ,special offer in Dusseldorf airport.I would just like to mention how hospitable our German hosts were in Gelsenkirchen.Lovely people ,lovely stadium and lots of lovely cheap beer.At the stadium outside no problems mixing and drinking with the locals before the match ,no bolshy stewards inside and afterwards being let out straight away without being penned in for hours like elsewhere.I am looking forward to the next time we draw German opponents.
Washedup,
Glad you got to the game and “back” in good spirits. Also hope the family visit is going well.
Well played washedup, and Ollie, and all my mates who seem to have had rather a good trip in spite of, rather than because of, Gelsenkirchen.
Ollie,
Watching the Marseille game,
Barton scored directly from a corner kick. It was probably an accident.
NorCal. Well in at the century and a half, and so nonchalant about it too.
Speaking of politics NorCal, I heard that as a result of the election taxes will soon rise for the rich in California, meaning the public schools may not have to close after all. I didn’t mean to get into anything political, mind you, just couldn’t think of much else to say.
8ball,
Yes. Taxes will rise for the rich. Also an increase in sales tax. The funny thing is there was a proposal to raise everyone’s tax to help public services and that of course failed miserably. (Tax everyone, except me….right? )
I will only be affected by the sale tax, ( i dont fit their definition of rich, yet) but then I live relatively close to Oregon where there is no sale tax.
NorCal. Very interesting stuff. I have to say, if I could shop in Oregon I probably would too. They probably have good lumber for sale, from all I know about that state. ๐

Happy Birthday Snir!
So Santi plays in Panama for Spain the Wednesday before Sp*rs. Maybe he can teleport so as to avoid travel fatigue?
Maybe he can pick up a sneaky injury on Saturday, just light enough to keep him out for about 5 days ๐
We could call up the ghost of Santi?
It’s ludicrus. It’s bad enough that the players have to trape all over Europe for games that mean bugger all, but to have to go all the way to South America to play on a Wednesday night is beyong the pail.
Fuck Fifa.

Wind,
Congrats. And well played Clive and others.
However, two games in one week after such a long period away from the game? We will have to watch your metrics as you surely might be in the red zone.
Cheers everyone.
We Take off for London tomorrow after the game. Will be staying in a flat across the street from the HOF on Sunday and Monday.
Can’t wait!
Goal for West Ham, McCallum heads home from close range (86) 1-2

Enjoy your trip NorCal.
We’ll be expecting you to keep a diary.

I know Ollie linked to this story earlier, but did you all see the English version?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20259676
The French Football Federation made the decision after the five players spent a night in a Paris club between the two legs of a European Under-21 Championship qualifying……….
A club in Paris?
I bet they were between the two legs of someting else too…. ๐
NorCal. Have a blast, and send us good reports, if you can manage to remember to do it, so we can all travel vicariously with you and get your impressions. ๐
heh. You have to add that the game that the players were in a training camp in Le Havre, which is still about 200km from Paris.
So they had to drive there as well….
Safe travels, NorCAl!
Hey H2H ๐
Assist? Or too late?
It’s a goal!!
Thanks for the assist, abb.
Oh Ollie, My pleasure. Arsecast was a hoot today. But I didn’t pick up whether Henry cooperated with the bio. Will google that later. Time for a nap. Holics best start putting in an appearance here at the bar, cause I’ll starting naming them, if they don’t. And that’s a Fact ๐
Apart from the Arsecast and the preview that Holic has written – there is also an article linked on Tim Stillmans column on Arseblogger on an interview with Phillipe Auclair which is interesting reading, especially his take on those who criticise Wenger.
I say this in no way to try to excuse some of his team selections, substitutions, formations and decisions taken of late (which have baffled me as much as much as many of the contributors here), but in the more general context of his stewardship of the club and primarily, the consequences of opting for a self-sustaining model.
Anyway, speaking of self-sustainment, its Friday, the sun is shining and shortly I’ll be ‘preoccupied in putting glasses of stout into the interior of my body…and expressing by fine disputation, the resulting sense of physical and mental well-being’.
Enjoy it, Joe!
Well in Ollie.
Holic @165 ๐
Abb – “Scorpios get along famously with Capricorns”
Will he get on with me – I’m a Vegetarian ? ๐
Hello abb, no Titi did not co-operate with Philippe, but he was aware of the book and made no attempt to interfere in any way, which is rare these days.

Tomas is back? Excellent news.
Ooh great to see him back in training, spotted Ox there too. Now the question is how far is either of them from being match ready?
Happy Birthday Snir.
Well done Wind, might even buy you a shandy afterwards ๐
Enjoy Joe, cheers for the heads up.
Tomas who? ๐
Don’t think Rosicky is ready to take part tomorrow even on the bench, Eandy, but maybe he can score against Spu*s again? ๐
not counting with him for tomorrow at all too Ollie, but home against Tottenscum would be nice ๐
Rosie is back? Huh. That was a shorter 3 weeks than usual.
Who takes wilshere’s spot tomorrow? Ox to start?
Doubt it, NCA, he’s only at ‘fitness test’ stage.
Maybe Coq with Arteta further up.
You are probably right Ollie. Was hoping for a little injection of pace and dribbling. We have been very passive lately. No one really taking on defenders. Maybe Arteta will take a few shots from outside the box.
Well, it would be rude not to.

Hey tabs – the ideal comeuppance you spake of yesterdee for the money-laundering operation at the bridge might arrive sooner than any of us could reasonably hope for if this fellow gets his way…
